Chapter 186 King's Station
In the chaos before departure, Harry had no chance to speak to Ron or Hermione or Verlin; they were busy carrying all their suitcases down the narrow stairs of the Leaky Cauldron and stacking them up to the front door. beside.
Hedwig and Percy's screeching owl, Hermes, were in their own cages, and they were placed on top of the luggage with Wall of Verlin. A small wicker basket sat beside the pile of boxes, purring noisily.
"It's okay, Crookshanks," Hermione coaxed the cat through the wicker basket, "I'll let you out when we get to the train."
"Don't let go," Ron said sternly, "What will happen to poor Scabbers, huh?"
He pointed to his chest, where there was a large lump, indicating that Scabbers was hiding in Ron's pocket.
Hermione glared at Ron fiercely, and Fan Lin quickly came up and stood between the two of them. It was not the time for a war or something to break out.
Mr. Weasley, who had been waiting outside for the Ministry car, stuck his head in.
"The car is coming," he said. "Harry, come on."
Mr. Weasley forced Harry across the short stretch of sidewalk to the first car. Both cars were old-fashioned dark green cars, and the first one was driven by a sly-looking wizard wearing a bright green velvet suit.
"Get in, Harry," said Mr. Weasley, looking left and right down the street. Harry walked to the back of the car, followed immediately by Hermione, Vernon, and Ron; and, to Ron's disgust, Percy too.
The journey to King's Cross was uneventful compared to Harry's experience on the Knight Bus. The Ministry of Magic cars looked almost bland, but Harry noticed that both cars could slide through cracks in the ground, which Uncle Vernon's new car certainly couldn't.
They arrived at King's Cross station, twenty minutes before the train arrived; the Ministry of Magic driver helped them find the luggage trolley, unloaded their suitcases, and touched Mr. Weasley with his hand on the brim of his hat. For a moment, he drove away. Somehow, he jumped to the front of the queue of cars that were motionless because of the red light.
Mr. Weasley followed Harry closely until the stop.
"Now," he looked around at the students, "there are so many of us, so let's stand in pairs. I'm first, and Harry is with me."
Fanlin felt that this must be related to Sirius's escape from prison. The people from the Ministry of Magic were not waiting for Harry at the Leaky Cauldron for no reason, and they even sent a car to escort him to King's Cross Station.
All these prove that Harry is Sirius Black's target. They think that Sirius wants to kill Harry, and this also reflects their incompetence. Except for the fact that they discovered Sirius once because of Fanlin, They couldn't catch Sirius at all. In fact, if it weren't for the strange black dog that Sirius turned into, the Ministry of Magic might not even be able to recognize Sirius' Animagus form.
At least, Fanlin's ferret was beyond their knowledge, especially Cornelius Fudge. Fanlin was lying on Harry's shoulder, and he didn't realize that this ferret turned out to be an illegal anima. Gus.
Mr. Weasley pushed Harry's luggage trolley towards the railing that separated platforms 9 and 10. He seemed very interested in the intercity train 15 that had just arrived at platform 9. He gave Harry a meaningful look and leaned casually against the railing. Harry followed suit.
After a while, they passed through the railing and landed on 94 from the side. They looked up and saw the express train to Hogwarts. The scarlet steam locomotive was puffing smoke over the platform. The platform was filled with wizards and witches sending their children onto the train.
Fan Lin and Hermione also came in. They seemed to have returned to the first industrial revolution and the age of steam, with a strong sense of history. This all proves the backward productivity of the wizarding world. Wizards are just a group of consumers who rarely create.
Percy and Ginny suddenly appeared behind Fanlin. They were panting, as if they had run for a breath before crossing the railing.
"Ah, here comes Penello!" said Percy, smoothing his hair and blushing again. Ginny caught Harry's eye and both turned away to hide their smiles as Percy strode towards a girl with long curly hair. Percy walked with his chest held out, allowing her to see his shiny badge.
Just as everyone was getting into the car, Harry was stopped by Mr. Weasley. It seemed that some instructions were indispensable because of Sirius.
"Harry," Mr. Weasley said quietly, "come here for a moment."
He tilted his head toward a pillar, and Harry followed him behind it, leaving the others to surround Mrs. Wessingley.
"Before you go, there's something I have to tell you—" Mr. Weasley said nervously.
"Okay, Mr. Weasley," said Harry, "I already know."
"You know? How did you know?"
"His target is me, right..." Harry said, he was very calm.
"Uh... Harry, you know..." Mr. Weasley said, looking a little anxious. "No - honestly, it's okay. That way, you didn't break your promise to Fudge, and I know what's going on."
"Harry, you must be scared to death..."
"No," said Harry sincerely, "really, there's nothing to be afraid of, and he's not the only one who wants to kill me," he added, because Mr. Weasley didn't seem to believe it.
"I'm not trying to be a hero, but seriously, Sirius Black can't be worse than Voldemort, can he?" Mr. Weasley shuddered at the name, but then overcame the emotion. "Harry, I know you're, well, stronger than Fudge thinks, and I'm glad you're not scared, but..."
"Arthur!" cried Mrs. Weasley, who was now helping the people get on the train. "Arthur, what are you doing? It's time to go!"
"He's coming, Molly!" said Mr. Weasley. But he turned to Harry and said in a more urgent whisper: "Look, I want you to promise -"
" - promise to be obedient and stay in the castle?" said Harry gloomily. "Not exactly," said Mr. Weasley, looking more serious than Harry had ever seen him. "Harry, swear to me you won't go looking for Black." Harry stared. "What?" A loud whistle blew. Railway staff walked along the train and closed all the doors. "Promise me, Harry," said Mr. Weasley, speaking faster, "whatever happens--"
"Why would I go looking for someone I knew was going to kill me?" Harry asked blankly.
"Arthur, hurry!" Mrs. Weasley shouted.
The train began to move, puffing steam. Harry ran to the door of the carriage, and Ron opened it and stepped aside to let Harry get on. They leaned out the window and waved to the Weasleys until the train turned the corner and they were out of sight.
"I need to speak to you privately..." (To be continued)
