Chapter 183: Magical Zoo

"By the way, Ron asked me to buy him some rat tonic!" Harry said as they walked. They were heading to the pet shop in Diagon Alley, not far from Ollivander's wand shop.

"Rat tonic? For Scabbers, the poor big rat?" Hermione frowned, "What happened to Scabbers?"

"I don't know," Harry spread his hands, "I heard from Ron that Scabbers has been looking very bad recently and has lost a lot of weight..."

"Is he going to die..." Hermione worried, "After all, Scabbers has been in his house for more than ten years, which is a very incredible thing for a normal field mouse!"

"About this..." Vanlin interrupted, and he shared two ice cream cones between the two.

"Oh...thank you." Hermione said, and Harry had long been accustomed to it, whoever was free would go to buy it.

"Regarding Scabbers, we can buy him less rat tonic, after all, there won't be too good ones on the market. I'll check Scabbers and then give him some."

Fan Lin said, of course he knew why. In fact, many key things in his memory have not changed, such as the character setting, and a very key thing, Voldemort's Horcrux.

Fan Lin also knew that the diadem of Rowena Ravenclaw, the legendary magic item, was hidden in the Room of Requirement, but Fan Lin always felt that it was a pity to destroy it with the fangs of the basilisk, but if he found it, it seemed that there was no choice.

Of course, there are also Scabbers and Peter Pettigrew. Fan Lin knew that Pettigrew's life was not coming to an end, just like an ordinary super-long-lived mouse.

He must have seen the news of Sirius's escape from prison. Just kidding, Sirius actually escaped from Azkaban guarded by Dementors, and Sirius didn't have a wand and couldn't cast the Patronus Charm. No matter how you look at it, Sirius is far beyond Peter Pettigrew. He became like this because of fear.

Vanlin needs to add some tracking agent to the mouse tonic for Scabbers. After all, he is a mouse. Although the Marauder's Map can show the location, Vanlin can't always carry the Marauder's Map everywhere. If Mr. Filch finds out, he will definitely be locked up.

"I hope Fred and George remember to take that thing out..." Vanlin murmured, otherwise he would have to go into Filch's office to steal it. However, using Dobby is also a good way, but Vanlin is not sure whether Dobby will recognize it.

"What did you say?" Hermione asked.

"Nothing..." Vanlin said quickly. "Anyway, leave the mouse tonic to me."

"Okay, when Ron comes, I'll tell him..." Harry nodded, and he had eaten half of his ice cream cone. Harry likes this thing very much, which is much better than lemon popsicles.

Unknowingly, the three of them have arrived at the door of the pet store. Harry and Vanlin's owls were all purchased from the Ira Owl Shop. At least, Wall and Hedwig get along very well, and the two of them are often used together. However, Hermione's first stop was the Magical Menagerie, which had a more complete range of magical pets.

"Let's go, I can't wait to have a pet. I want an owl like your two Wall and Hedwig."

Hermione rushed in excitedly. There were a lot of people in the store. After all, it was the day before school started. There were many new faces in Diagon Alley today. These were all first-year students, and they were already third-year seniors. The days spent in Hogwarts always made people feel very fast. Of course, it would be more perfect without those annoying things and the damn Voldemort.

"Welcome to the Magical Menagerie, where you can find the most complete range of magical pets in the UK..."

Vanlin and the others heard the clerk's voice as soon as they entered the door, but soon the voice was drowned out by the calls of various creatures, including toads, black badgers, snakes, bats, owls... There were many kinds and they were very complete.

"I still think the owl store is better..." Harry whispered, but his eyes betrayed him. Having a pet is also a good choice, although Hedwig is great.

"Humph..." Hermione snorted. Although her original intention was an owl, more choices are not a bad thing.

"Fanlin, help me pick one. I want a good-looking pet." Cuteness is always the standard of a girl, so Fanlin excluded bats, toads, snakes and other things that look disgusting or scary without thinking.

They didn't care about the clerk. The clerk was helping some freshmen choose pets. The three of them were happy to choose by themselves, at least Hermione was happy to do so.

Every time the girl raised a cage, she would ask Fanlin for his opinion, while Harry was staring at some other magical creatures. If there was no one, Harry didn't mind communicating with those snakes.

The girl kept her eyes on the three creatures: owls, cats, and ferrets. For the first time, Fanlin discovered that ferrets could also be used as magical pets, but they were relatively rare. However, Fanlin did not hesitate. Buying a ferret was also a good choice. At least, his Animagus was a ferret, and he had a good impression of these little white things.

But it seems that Hermione is not suitable for keeping pets. In short, most of the pets they chose are very close to Fanlin. After all, it is relatively convenient for animals to communicate with each other, especially ferrets.

As for Hermione, until now, Hermione has not found a pet that is close to her. It seems that she is an animal insulator.

"It's terrible!" Hermione said angrily. She was holding an owl cage in her hand. This was chosen by Fanlin for her. However, this damn little thing was only interested in Fanlin.

"..." Harry and Fanlin did not speak. They did not want to offend Hermione who was in a bad mood.

"Do you need help?" The clerk who had been busy for a long time finally sent away a large number of people. It was their turn.

"I need a pet, but..." Hermione frowned. Before she finished her words, an unpleasant cat cry scared everyone, just like a normal kitten was stepped on the tail.

Hermione and the others turned around quickly. It was an orange cat with extremely voluminous fur, which made Fanlin unable to tell its breed. However, it was definitely not a good-looking British shorthair or a cute ragdoll cat.

The fat cat looked like a little lion, with swollen fur on its neck and a particularly large and fluffy tail.

The most important thing was that its face looked like it had been flattened by an iron plate, which made it look even less attractive. (To be continued)
