Chapter 181: Arrive at the Battlefield 30 Seconds Before School Starts
It took Harry several days to get used to his strange new freedom.
Before, Harry had never been able to sleep when he wanted or eat when he wanted. Now he could go anywhere he wanted, with Vanlin.
Of course, as long as it was in Diagon Alley, the long cobblestone street lined with the most fascinating magic shops in the world. Therefore, Harry did not want to break his promise to Fudge and did not stray back into the Muggle world.
Harry had breakfast every morning at the Leaky Cauldron, where he enjoyed observing the other residents: interesting little witches from the countryside who came here to do their day's shopping; vulnerable-looking wizards arguing about the latest article in Transfiguration Today; wild-headed wizards, noisy dwarfs, and, once, a man in a thick balaclava who looked suspiciously like a ghost asked for a plate of raw liver.
After breakfast, Florin would come to keep him company as expected, after all, Florin was bored at home, and under Harry's lead, they went to the backyard, took out their wands, tapped the third brick from the left above the trash can, and then stepped back to look at the archway in the wall that opened to Diagon Alley.
Harry and Florin spent the long summer days browsing shops and eating under colorful umbrellas outside cafes, where his fellow diners showed each other their purchases ("It's a lunescope, mate - no more moon charts, see?") or discussed the Sirius Black case ("I personally think that no child should be left alone until he's back in Azkaban.").
Harry no longer had to hide under the sheets with a flashlight to do his homework; now he could sit in the bright sunshine outside Florin's Ice Cream Shop and complete all his papers, sometimes with guidance from Florin himself, who, in addition to his extensive knowledge of medieval witch burnings, also provided Harry with a free box of ice cream every half hour.
Occasionally, Fanlin would come. After all, he had finished everything. Fanlin always liked to hang out in Flourish and Blotts, or ask questions in various shops.
Harry didn't understand why Fanlin had to make money now. In his eyes, Fanlin was very rich, at least much better than Malfoy. His grandparents were the Minister and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Magic, and he also had a magic school that was no less than Hogwarts, and his father was a boss in the Muggle world.
But Fanlin didn't think so. He felt that he needed his own source of income. He wanted to write novels in the same way as Gilderoy Lockhart. At least Fanlin was based on real deeds, wasn't he?
Speaking of Gilderoy, Harry seemed to be about to forget it. Gilderoy's scandal was exposed by them. Of course, this was Fanlin's idea. They didn't want their Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher to be a waste who couldn't even beat the students, so what could they learn in Hogwarts?
Vanlin wore an invisible cloak to scare Gilderoy, and secretly recorded the audio and video. Gilderoy was scared because of the secret chamber incident, and Vanlin played a time difference. He and Harry went to scare Gilderoy the night before the news of the perfect solution of the secret chamber incident was released.
They used a spell, or more precisely, Vanlin just secretly released a fear spell on Gilderoy, and then the coward told everything, including the forgetfulness spell, etc.
They handed the information anonymously to Rita Skeeter of the Daily Prophet. Harry didn't understand why he handed it to such an unknown person. Asking Mr. Weasley for help was Harry's idea.
It turned out that Vanlin's decision was not something Harry could question. When this first-hand information was handed over to Rita, the whole magic world knew the news the next day.
Gilderoy wanted to come out to explain, but the angry people didn't accept it at all. They believed the report of the Daily Prophet, or there were many people who didn't like Gilderoy who jumped out to support the Daily Prophet, including a bunch of pure-blood nobles.
In short, Gilderoy was finished. He couldn't survive in the UK. He left Hogwarts in disgrace the day after the report was issued. In fact, except for some die-hard fans, no one in the whole Hogwarts believed him.
Fanlin didn't know where Gilderoy went. He heard that he went to the United States. Anyway, he didn't stay in Europe. Fanlin felt very guilty for this. After all, Gilderoy had helped them. Although it didn't work, Fanlin believed that Dumbledore must know what kind of person Gilderoy was. Even if they didn't help, Gilderoy wouldn't stay here until the second semester.
Moreover, the one who supported him the most was not Harry and Ron, but Hermione, who was originally a glorious student fan. In Hermione's words, Gilderoy was really terrible. She couldn't understand why she was so stupid to believe him.
For this reason, Fanlin agreed, and then he was beaten up by Hermione (just a description!)... In short, Fanlin has almost forgotten Gilderoy now. If Vanlin hadn't needed to make money and followed Gilderoy's path, it's very likely that Gilderoy would have completely disappeared from Vanlin's mind.
"Will Hermione and Ron be here today?" Harry stretched. They were sitting in the Leaky Cauldron. Harry was trying to finish the last bit of homework, while Vanlin was imitating Lockhart's writing style to write a novel about the Philosopher's Stone and the Chamber of Secrets.
"Hermione will be here today. I talked to her on the phone at home. In fact, if he hadn't brought his parents with him, I would have asked Dobby to go to her house and bring her here."
Fan Lin said without raising his head. In fact, Fan Lin didn't know what he was thinking. In short, he wouldn't let her go. Although he said so, Fan Lin knew what he was thinking.
According to the useful or useless memories given to him by the man, Fan Lin knew about this hazy feeling of first love, and of course there were a lot of special nouns, such as the ones he used to play with Harry, what, come on, hurt each other, etc.
These words often made Harry very angry, but he couldn't beat Fan Lin, which made Harry not take the initiative to quarrel with Fan Lin.
According to Fan Lin, his personality became more meticulous and detached because of the fusion of memories.
No matter how you look at it, these two words are opposites. Anyway, he made Harry's head a mess. (To be continued)
