Chapter 1101 Alterac Valley
In the original version of Alterac Valley, there was no reinforcement.
In that version, it was usually not tactics, but the number of people that decided the outcome. Because there was no concept of reinforcements, the entire Okuyama battlefield was likely to be fought from day to night, and there was no concept of cross-server battlefield at that time. For a balanced server, there are not enough people on the side who hit the middle of the night, so the outcome is decided.
Later versions of Alterac Valley carried out a series of reforms, mainly in two aspects:
The first is that the various complex mechanisms in it have been comprehensively weakened, including the removal of most neutral NPCs, the weakening of the attributes of the guards, and the no longer appearing of many powerful summonable NPCs.
The second is to add the concept of reinforcements, so that the fighting time of Okuyama in each round can be controlled.
Overall, this change tends to speed up the rhythm of the battlefield. After all, a battlefield can't be played from day to night, and it's hard to say how good the game experience is.
Moreover, the honorary rewards on the battlefield mainly come from key nodes such as occupying strongholds and gaining victory. The alliance and the tribe are in an infinite stalemate on the expedition plain, and neither side can get too many honor points, which is a serious waste of time.
In the original design, Okuyama's design idea was a large-scale interactive pve game, in which the pvp content only accounted for a part. Players had to complete various tasks and have a key impact on the battlefield through many key NPCs.
For example, after the player rescues the Air Force commander, he turns in various items. After handing in enough items, he will hear a roar from the Air Force and fly into the airspace of the opponent to start bombing.
Or players can capture their own animals and kill enemy animals (the Alliance is a sheep, the Horde is a wolf) in the animal pen manager, and then they can call their own cavalry troops to charge.
You can also summon special forces for support, upgrade your army's defenses, and even summon the ultimate unit to dominate the battlefield.
After turning in enough blood or storm crystals of the alliance soldiers, the druids will come to the battle plain, and players should assist them in the summoning ceremony to summon the forest king Ives or the ice king Lokhora.
That is to say, the Okuyama Battlefield of that version is not a simple battle between alliance and tribal players, but relying on many means to improve the combat power of friendly forces in order to win a normal war.
Of course, it sounds good, but in fact, with the change of version, some problems have appeared.
Because it takes a lot of time to complete these tasks, taking the mechanism of summoning cavalry as an example, players need to spread out to catch wolves and kill sheep, and after collecting various items, they have to run back to hand them over, so there is a contradiction:
If the strength of the NPC is relatively weak, the players on the opposite side will directly gather to pull up your tower, and then you are still collecting things, and then you will be pierced by a wave; if the strength of the NPC is strong, both sides will work hard to collect resources , the battlefield has become a battle between NPCs, and the time of this battlefield has been extended exponentially, which is contrary to the goal of speeding up the rhythm of the battlefield.
So in the end, these complex mechanisms were basically ignored. Both the alliance and the tribe tend to have fast-paced offensive and defensive battles. Each player is very important. Dividing people to collect these things is equivalent to slowing down the rhythm. .
Therefore, the version of Alterac Valley made by Chen Mo still retains the NPC mechanism, but adds the concept of reinforcements. For example, the alliance is clearly at a disadvantage, and then they stick to the bridge, and neither side can win. It sounds very passionate, but it is not the case when it comes to fighting.
Chen Mo saw that there were only about 100 reinforcements left in the alliance, and more than 400 troops left in the tribe, which was too bad.
It's not that the alliance is weak. There are many reasons for the tribe's dominance on the battlefield in the early stage. Because of the appearance of the tribe, most of the players who chose the tribe at the beginning are pure men who like to kill people. The appearance party and the scenery party generally do not choose the tribe.
So the cohesion of the tribe was higher at the beginning.
Of course, in the later version, the alliance was dominant, so that the island of conquest became the island of the alliance, which is another story.
Obviously, this battle is a battle of disparity in strength between the two sides. The alliance lost a lot of towers in the beginning, so that now they can only retreat to the bridge. The commander obviously doesn't know much about this battlefield, but fortunately, he is more conscientious and dutiful.
The bridge is easy to defend, because the terrain of the alliance is loose on the outside and tight on the inside, and the defense line of one tower and two towers can be said to be riddled with holes, but the bridge here is absolutely easy to defend and difficult to attack. Anyway, all kinds of blizzards, fire rain and long-range skills are thrown wildly on the bridge, let alone tribes, it is difficult for even a fly to fly over.
The two sides were at a stalemate like this, but although the alliance held the bridge, because of the existence of the reinforcement mechanism, the tribe exchanged three heads for the alliance and one head, and that was the tribe's victory.
Chen Mo sent a message on the battlefield channel: "Give me the battlefield leader."
He was afraid that the current battlefield leader hadn't seen it, so he swiped twice.
As a result, the title was changed to him in the next second. Obviously, the previous battlefield leader was eager to come out and take the blame.
Chen Mo quickly divided the current team, and all the thieves and druids were thrown into the 7th and 8th teams. The previous teams also basically focused on occupational matching, ensuring that each team had a ranged occupation and a healing occupation.
"Everyone listened to my command. Team 1234 continued to guard the bridge. Team 56 rushed to the bridge with me and covered Team 78. Team 78, you sneaked and touched the defense line of the tribe. Don't fight when you meet anyone, just keep giving it to me. Sneak to the middlemost battle plain, keep sneaking and wait for my next command."
"It's still outside. If you are a stealth professional, go straight to the plains. If not, come back quickly. Hurry up and move."
As Chen Mo spoke, he typed the tactical arrangement on the battlefield channel in words.
It has to be said that the title of battlefield leader still works. Most of the alliances are already in the stage of waiting to lose, because they feel that they can't win in this way, and they can't retreat if they retreat (there will be a debuff of deserters if they retreat). Now seeing such a tough commander appear, all began to move spontaneously.
Although many people still don't know what they are doing, but at least the alliance players who are standing by the bridge have all assembled according to Chen Mo's request.
Now that the Horde has occupied the Thunderspear Cemetery opposite the bridge, the resurrection points of the two sides are very close, and they are also separated by a bridge. So Chen Mo couldn't take the risk of going all out. If the first wave didn't rush down and was caught by the tribe, then even if Chen Mo could play again, he would be useless.
Most of Squad 78's stealth occupations are at home, and a few have sneaked out and scattered all over the place. The others were all waiting behind the bridge for Chen Mo's order, waiting for Squad 56 to rush forward, and they sneaked over while the tribe's defense line was being pulled.
Although I don't know if it's still useful to resist now, but since it's already like this, let's try it. Reading Joy, Reading Joy is wonderful! (= Reading Joy)
