Chapter 601 Diana's Analysis
Poloz entered Evie's house, and as usual, after taking care of Evie's daily life, he returned to his room.
The light in the window went out, and several members of the thieves' group with crossbows patrolled on the roof, but they did not notice Chen Ke below. He walked in the shadows just right, as if he was an extension of the shadow.
His pupils turned blue, and through the wall, he saw Poloz slowly lying down in his room on the first floor.
Going to bed?
Chen Ke leaned against the tree and waited for a while, thinking about going to the City of Opportunities to get some clean bandages and sutures to deal with Lucina.
He stood under the tree and waited for a while, estimating that it should be around 2 a.m., and the patrols of the thieves on the roof had all finished their work and went home. Just when Chen Ke thought that he would probably return empty-handed tonight, Poloz got up.
Poloz took care of it, then pushed open the door, looked around, and then tiptoed out. This time, she went out without a lantern.
"The time is really accurate. Where are you going?" Chen Ke said to himself.
As a member of the thieves' group, Poloz must know when the night thieves on the roof will finish their shift, so she took advantage of the time difference and took a 2-hour nap. It didn't affect her energy the next day. She made a good plan.
Chen Ke followed her from a distance and walked out of the street controlled by the thieves' group. Poloz walked slowly along the Thames River, stopping from time to time to look back.
Poloz avoided the patrol route of the security team. From the current situation, she is already familiar with it. Obviously, she has sneaked out in the middle of the night more than once.
After following for half an hour, Poloz came to a small white church in the center of the city. The church is not big. King's College is diagonally opposite the street. Looking further away, you can see the dial of Big Ben.
Poloz approached the gate and knocked on the door three times. The small window on the door opened with a click, and a cold and dry sound came from inside.
"Secret code."
Poloz looked around vigilantly, and Chen Ke retracted his figure into the corner.
"Fear the blood of the ancient gods." Poloz whispered.
The wooden door creaked open a crack, and Poloz hurriedly walked in sideways. As soon as he entered the door, the person inside gently closed the door, as if nothing had happened just now.
Chen Ke leaned against the wall and observed secretly. He just heard Poloz mutter "Fear the blood of the ancient gods" in a low voice, which must be the secret code to open the door.
But strangely, under his spiritual vision, there was no one in the door, so who opened the door for Poloz?
Now even if he reported the case number and went in, it would only alert the enemy. Poloz might not come out for a while after going in, so Chen Ke wrote down the location of the church and turned back.
On the way, Chen Ke saw that there was no one around, so he took out the blasphemous dagger, pried off the door lock of a cafe on the street, and pulled the door to teleport directly back to the small apartment provided by the thieves group.
As soon as he came out, he saw Parker and Diana sitting on the sofa, seemingly discussing something. The room was dark, they didn't turn on the lights, and talked in a low voice.
Seeing someone push the door in, Diana's index finger ignited a small flame and stretched it towards Chen Ke. Under the faint orange light, Chen Ke's face was like a ghost floating in the air.
"Chen Ke, we have something to tell you." Parker said.
"I roughly know what you are going to say." Chen Ke said.
Diana looked upstairs and put out the fire with her hand.
"Tell me, what did you find." Chen Ke pulled a chair and sat opposite the sofa. After his eyes adjusted to the darkness, Chen Ke could see their faces a little through the faint moonlight from the curtains.
"Diana thinks there is something wrong with Poloz." Parker said.
"Lucina looked very strange this morning. I was there when she was injured. I saw her wound and we treated it before. It shouldn't hurt so much after so long. Also, that Poloz is very concerned about where you are going and her expression is also strange when she talks. My intuition tells me that she is not normal, and Lucina is not normal either. This is not good." Diana analyzed.
"Your intuition is right. Someone is targeting Lucina." Chen Ke said.
"What happened? We have only been here for one day." Parker said puzzled.
Chen Ke told the two of them everything he saw and heard tonight.
"What should we do now? Move out of here?" Parker asked.
"No, no... Evie's thieves group should have nothing to do with this matter. All the doubts are on this woman, Poloz. There is a small church half an hour away from here. You need to give a secret code to enter at night. Poloz is not a psychic, nor is she an alien individual, but she has a small hourglass in her hand. According to my observation, that thing can be used to control people's emotions. I suspect Poloz is a member of an underground school. This is the 19th century, and there are many people engaged in mysterious movements." Chen Ke said.
"Secret code... It doesn't sound good." Parker shook his head.
"No wonder Lucina's wound opened again. It was actually done by that bitch." Diana said in a deep voice.
"Poloz seems to have taken a fancy to Lucina's body. She repeatedly asked Lucina if she planned to have children... This makes me feel uneasy. Although she is an ordinary person, there may be senior personnel involved in the extraordinary level in that church." Chen Ke said.
The incident that Lucina encountered was not isolated, and it may even be related to the incident between Jack and Jacob.
He reached out, took out his cell phone, opened the notepad, and wrote down a few keywords:
Lucina.
Poloz.
Little Jack.
Jacob.
Ms. Maria.
Madam Catherine's dream of God.
The Queen's Secret Keeper.
Fertility.
The chapel, the code "Fear the blood of the ancient gods"
The female monster killed by Little Jack.
The god who failed to descend.
The Ripper case.
He stared at the words on the phone, trying to connect them.
"What are you writing?" Diana asked.
Chen Ke handed the phone to Diana, who was once a CPA agent and should be much better at doing this kind of thing than himself.
"It's some clues, right? I don't understand some words, can you explain it?" Diana said.
"No problem, I suspect that Lucina's matter is related to what I'm dealing with." Chen Ke said.
"What is a secret keeper?" Diana asked.
"You can think of it as the management bureau of this era." Chen Ke answered.
Diana nodded, took out her cell phone, opened her notebook, and kept pressing something with both hands.
"So... who are Ms. Maria and Mrs. Catherine?" Diana asked again.
Chen Ke briefly told Diana about his experience in 1859, and reminded Diana that he had lost part of his memory and might be missing some key information.
"It's no big deal. Sometimes, even if you know all the information, you can't get the correct result." Diana shrugged.
"Well... what is God's dream?" Diana asked.
"The dream of God can interfere with reality. Mrs. Catherine's incident is an example." Chen Ke replied.
"Okay, I roughly understand... Although I can't be 100% sure, the whole thing is probably like this..." Diana returned the phone to Chen Ke, and then turned her phone screen towards Chen Ke.
"This is...?" Chen Ke was stunned.
In the notebook, Diana put several related words side by side, and then explained the situation in another line. In this way, she restored the original appearance of the incident with a few short sentences.
"This is the simplest method of clue reasoning. Next, let's see if we win the jackpot." Diana said with a smile.
