Chapter 630: Licking Pictures
"Did you hear any sound?" Chen Ke looked at Richter.
"No." Richter shook his head.
He slung the shotgun around his waist and took out a whip from under his coat. The whip hung on the ground and spread out, with a small spike ball at the end.
Chen Ke saw four thick small bottles hanging on Richter's belt, two of which were used up, and the other two were filled with red liquid.
He guessed that Richter, like the Keeper, had to apply blood on his weapon to kill the psychic monster, otherwise he would be helpless.
In fact, there is no difference between the future psychic and the Keeper, except that one smears blood on the weapon and the other injects liquefied psychic energy into the spinal cord. Using things outside of human beings to fight against things outside of human beings, the great power cannot be attributed to oneself. This may be the tragedy of being a human, right?
However, the organization behind White and the foundation in 2137 did solve this problem, which made Chen Ke very concerned. He could not believe that those people had found a way to attribute the great power to themselves. It was more like taking himself one step closer to the direction of the clan.
God can kill the clan, but nothing can kill God. This is also the reason for the extinction of humans in the real world, but... what is he?
"What are you thinking about? I suggest you focus more. The things in this castle are not difficult to deal with, but if you take it lightly, it is still easy to die." Richter said half-jokingly and half-seriously.
Chen Ke has not heard people joke with him like this for a long time. Looking back, except for Jacob when he was young, only the buddies when he just joined the postman and Lucina would joke with him like this. The rest of the people either want to kill him or have reservations about him.
He couldn't help but recall his junior high school and high school classmates. The more he recalled, the more melancholy he felt. An inexplicable emotion surged up. He removed the magazine of REC7, blew into the blood-filled magazine slot, then put it back and pulled the bolt to drive away this emotion.
Chen Ke now can no longer return to the state of the office dog of the past. The various firearms in the dimensional storage grid are ready to move. The cold air around him blows negatively, and the gear turning sound and strange hum of the clock tower linger in his ears.
Fate gave him a brand new path, and he could only go down one way and become the man who broke through the siege.
Richter is an expert, but he used too many tools in the previous explorations, so he can only rely on Chen Ke's power to kill most of the enemies, and he is only responsible for dealing with monsters at close range.
Bloody whips and automatic rifles formed the tools of bloody harvest in the castle. Chen Ke used CQB tactical actions to efficiently clear every room. The divine blood bullets were invincible, and Richter's whip was like a magic, capturing every living thing that wanted to get close to them.
Everything went so smoothly, even too smoothly. Chen Ke and Richter killed through the entire bell tower without much effort and found a device similar to a distribution box.
"We found it?" Chen Ke watched Richter climb the steps and turn the big handle on the distribution box with both hands.
"Yes, the next one is... um!! The library." Richter said. He pulled down the handle, then pushed it out hard and broke the handle.
"I remember you said this place would... recover?" Chen Ke reminded.
"Yes, that's right, but we are still inside, so it's useless to just pull it down. Someone might come and turn it up again." Richter explained.
"Then the things in here are quite smart..." Chen Ke shook his head.
"What do you think they are? They used to be living people, but they got lost in this castle, which gathers... believers from several eras. They worship the city lord and crave the power of blood. Even worse, some martyrs from some eras will live in it directly until they lose consciousness and become part of the castle." Richter said.
"Is this the defense mechanism of this castle? Attracting all kinds of believers to be free gatekeepers?" Chen Ke asked.
"Don't be confused, that's all I can say." Richter said.
Chen Ke shrugged.
The two then headed for the next destination and soon arrived at the library. The floor of the library is metal. If the mechanism had not been triggered before, it should be powered on, but the strange thing is that Chen Ke did not see any circuit equipment, so he had no idea where the electricity came from to power these floors.
Richter and Chen Ke worked together seamlessly to eliminate the knight-like enemies stationed here one by one. Their appearance was very similar to the Crusaders in the 11th century. The Crusaders in the library wore very heavy and gorgeous equipment, not like the equipment during the Eastern Expedition, but more like some kind of ceremonial armor.
"I think these knights betrayed their beliefs and became believers of the blood clan. Look, they drew four marks on their emblems." Richter said.
Chen Ke also noticed that there were regular scratches on the emblems of these knights' armor and shields, which did not look like traces left by battle.
"The power of the old blood is so fascinating that even the Crusaders can be bewitched." Richter shook his head.
"After all, this blood showed them visible and tangible power, but what they believed in was not fulfilled." Chen Ke said sarcastically.
"You are right, but even so, we have to destroy this bloodline, it is something outside of human beings." Richter said.
Chen Ke did not comment. Along the way, he had seen people who were confused by power, and there were always people who fought against it. This world might be bad, but not that bad. There are still some people who want to pull it up.
"Yes, you are right. This blood cannot be left. So, where is the key?" Chen Ke asked.
"Here, if I remember correctly." Richter said as he came to the bookshelf in the corner and took a large red book from the third column of the bookshelf.
He came to Chen Ke, handed the book to Chen Ke, and said with a smile: "Come, experience the pleasure of solving the mystery."
Chen Ke sighed, took the book, and saw two lines of incomprehensible letters written crookedly on the cover. He opened the page and saw a copper key stuck on the back cover.
"This book is written in Old Venetian, and I can't understand it either. But do you know? For this key, I searched the entire castle." Richter's tone seemed to be showing off.
Chen Ke understood this feeling, just like a player who couldn't understand English playing a foreign puzzle adventure game by himself without the Internet. Chen Ke guessed that if Richter was put in the modern era, he would definitely be a map-licking player.
"Well... the next is the banquet hall. After reaching the workers' rest area, you have to use your filthy gold cup to clear the way. Get ready!" Richter was full of energy.
Chen Ke nodded and flipped through the book briefly. Suddenly, he found a mysterious circular formation on a certain page, which was exactly the same as the formation that little Jack found underground!
