Chapter 65: A Scroll Like Hell
Time is a flat circle, and the end point extends to the starting point. Xing Ze remembered what Bakht had said.
He pushed open the first iron door, and flies rushed towards him. The smell of decay overwhelmed the smell of blood. In a daze, he felt like he was back on that hot afternoon. He also opened a door and rejected the flies that came towards him.
He remembered that his brain paused for a few seconds, and then what little sanity he had left took over as he could have vomited.
One side of the room was full of people, men and women, young and old, and the other side was a mountain of corpses and mutilated bodies.
After seeing the scene in the room, Tonks quickly ran to the other side, supported the wall and vomited. Xing Ze could hear the curses and despair mixed in.
He stepped inside, his shoes stepping on the slippery and sticky ground, and every step felt like lead. But compared to Tonks who was vomiting profusely, Xing Ze felt very good. He didn't want to vomit, nor did he get lost in anger.
He's fine. He told himself that, habit is really a tenacious and huge force.
Those people looked at Xing Ze blankly. They had all been injected with hallucinogens, their eyes were wandering and they were in a trance. They had no idea what kind of hell they were in.
Xing Ze saw several children, and a demented old man... He tried to take a baby from a mother's arms. She cried out weakly and frightened, "The child... that's his... child..."
"He knows, ma'am. He is asleep, let him take care of him." Xing Ze carefully picked up the child, who was no longer breathing.
"Fuck you!" John couldn't help but curse when he reached the door. He turned his face away and took out the wine bottle from his arms with trembling legs.
Xing Ze took the child out of the room, placed it on a clean floor, and took out a piece of cloth from the ring to cover it.
"They need to notify the Ministry of Magic, St. Mungo's, whatever..." he said, "Just ask for help. Those people won't last long."
"The crystal is broken." John poured wine into his mouth. "Perhaps it was affected by the thing that sent them there. In those rooms, damn, is that the same situation in those rooms?"
"He doesn't know. Hey, J, J!"
"He's so fucking sober now." John said with red eyes, punching the iron door at the end, and the sound echoed in the hellish basement room, "He begs to kill those bastards one by one." Hang them! Did I hear what he said? He begged to hang them, slowly."
"I will." Xing Ze patted John's face, "How about that woman?"
"I have to go take a look while she's breathing a lot." John put a sapphire necklace on Xing Ze's leg.
"Naya?" Xing Ze asked. He had seen that necklace in the photo.
John nodded, 'Heart-breaking curse, Legilimency, Bone-scraping curse... He didn't think she could hold on for long. "
Xing Ze nodded, took out a few bottles of data potions from the ring and handed them to John, "Save as many as you can."
Naya could hardly shut up, and she struggled to say two words before she died - child.
Xing Ze closed her eyes and saw Tonks approaching with a red face. She opened her mouth but no sound came out.
"They have to find those four Aurors. They may be alive. Can I please come with them?" Xing Ze asked her.
Tonks nodded.
"Then calm down." Xing Ze ordered, "Leave it to J. They can go check out another passage."
…
Along the passage paved with bricks and stones, Xingze and Tonks arrived at a rotunda.
The dazzling starry sky shines in the dome, and in the east of the brightest star is a stone altar.
There is a potbellied statue on the altar, which is the same as the mural Xing Ze saw in Eric's country house. The red candle had burned out, and blood slowly flowed along the statue and touched the ground.
Just be the King of the East! Just be the King of the East! Something sounded in Xing Ze's ears, whether it was the carnival of believers, a call from the east, or a low whisper hidden in the darkness.
"Hey, am I okay?" Tonks asked Xing Ze uneasily.
Xing Ze pulled his thoughts out of the quagmire. He shook his head and pointed at the dark passages in front of him. "It seems that that place is more complicated than they imagined."
Tonks completely lost her former glory. She was nervous and breathless, "Then...where is that place?"
"He wondered..." Xing Ze said, "whether that place could be used for sacrifices."
"Sacrifice? For whom?"
"King of the East."
"Merlin's beard, did I say...did I say..." Tonks suppressed the urge to vomit, "Are those people locked in the room sacrifices?"
"He's not sure. Hey, breathe, Tonks, take a deep breath." Xing Ze patted the girl's back. The reason why he took Tonks with him was because he was afraid that the girl wouldn't be able to bear it if she continued to stay there.
"There doesn't seem to be any danger there. I can stay there temporarily while he goes to those passages to see. He won't go too far."
Tonks, who had temporarily recovered her breath, pulled Xing Ze, "He is coming with me." The girl said firmly, "Balk is not his friend."
Xing Ze thought for a while and said, "Okay, before he leaves, I'll pay attention behind him."
"OK."
The two of them walked towards a larger passage, and Tonks tried not to look at the sculpture.
"That thing made him feel scared," she said. "Did he tell me what was wrong with me? Did I look so calm?"
"Get used to it. If you can't accept it, humans will be forced to adapt to the environment." Xing Ze waved his wand, and a ball of light emerged. The light temporarily eliminated the darkness.
"What if you can't get used to it?"
"Then... then you will go crazy. He is very glad that he got used to it."
"He really doesn't dare to think about what I have experienced."
"He doesn't dare." Xing Ze said frankly, "Oh, he wants to ask, where is the real Scott?"
Hearing that, Tonks finally smiled, although the smile was fleeting, "He is probably fainted in the bathroom of the fast food restaurant."
"It seems that Kingsley is very important to me."
Tonks was silent for a while, and when she was about to answer, Xing Ze suddenly stopped, "Did I hear it?"
"What?"
"Run!"
Xing Ze pulled Tonks and ran towards the entrance. For a while, a roar like a beast sounded behind them.
Then there was a series of "cluck, cluck, cluck", as if someone was rubbing with teeth constantly.
"Don't look back!" Xing Ze shouted at Tonks. He saw the light at the entrance and quickened his pace.
After the two ran out of the passage, the monsters following them also rushed out. Those blasphemous creatures looked like humans. Most of them walked on two feet, with their chests hunched forward. Their skin was like light pink rubber, which was disgusting.
Smelly saliva flowed from their cracked mouths, and their sharp teeth kept grinding, making a clattering sound.
"Ghouls?" Tonks screamed in horror, "He, he thought they were mythical creatures."
"Welcome to reality." Xing Ze said. He saw the ghouls circling around them like wolves, looking for opportunities.
Suddenly, one of them tentatively pounced on Tonks. Although the girl was terrified, she reacted quickly. She dodged sideways, waved her wand, and the magic ray hit the monster, but it didn't have much effect.
The remaining five also gathered around, they were very fast, two of them rushed towards Xing Ze, and the other three went to Tonks.
They were intelligent, just like Novel Ke, they knew how to attack the weakest.
