Chapter 486 Leisure Weekend
Educational standards at Hogwarts plummeted under the leadership of the High Inquisitor.
After one month, professors may have completed only half of the teaching content of previous years. There was no way, the professors had to deal with Umbridge's cross-examination in class, and her cross-examination and perturbation of eyes.
Hogwarts became a mess, but the report in the Daily Prophet was all about singing and dancing.
They affirmed Umbridge's work results and praised Fudge's wise decision-making. By the way, I also interviewed a wave of parents of students, such as Lucius Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle who wanted to remain anonymous, as well as Avery, Nott, etc. who did not wish to remain anonymous.
Ultimately, the Daily Prophet came to the conclusion that Albus Dumbledore, the former chief wizard of the Wizengamot, is no longer able to take on the important task of running the prestigious Hogwarts school.
They petitioned the Ministry of Magic to remove Albus Dumbledore as Headmaster of Hogwarts.
…
In the past two weeks, Ada, who had nothing to do, was leisurely enjoying her final year of campus life. Dumbledore didn't look for her, and Umbridge didn't look for her again.
Ada went to class when there was class, but when there was no class, she would hang out in the restricted area of the library with Dumbledore's approval slip, almost living there (Fred's term).
Occasionally she would help the twins sell Weasley's magic tricks, after all, she was a shareholder. Whenever this happens, Ada has to avoid Hermione's sharp eyes.
In a flash, it is the first weekend of October, and the school allows students to go to Hogsmeade to play and relax on this day.
The morning we went to Hogsmeade was sunny but windy.
After breakfast, the students lined up in front of Filch, and he had to check each student's name against the long list.
When Ada walked up to Filch, she found that the school administrator had been looking very good recently, her face was rosy and shiny, as if she and Mrs. Pince were entering the second spring of their lives together.
But in fact, Filch was so happy because of Umbridge. He saw hope in the senior investigator, the hope of a second career.
Filch had always wanted to use torture devices on erring students, hanging them from the ceiling, just like his predecessors. But Dumbledore didn't allow Filch to do that, and he could only cry alone in front of the torture instruments until dawn.
It’s different now. Filch was excited by Umbridge’s appearance, especially since Umbridge might enter Hogwarts at any time. How could Filch not be happy!
But what Mr. Filch doesn't know is that if Umbridge knew that he was a squib, Umbridge would probably be the first to kick the school administrator out of the school.
Passing between the tall stone pillars topped with winged boars, and turning left onto the road leading to the village, Ada tied up her hair as she walked.
When she went out, she didn't expect the wind outside to be so strong, blowing her hair into a mess and always blocking her eyes.
Soon the three people appeared in Hogsmeade. Ada wanted to go to the Hog's Head Bar. She was very curious about Aberforth, the owner of the Hog's Head Bar. But the twins suggested going to the Three Broomsticks for a drink.
After walking along the road for a while, Ada suddenly noticed that several students had turned to the path behind the post office, which led to the Pig's Head Bar.
Is this a change of direction? This wind direction is a bit confusing!
Are students no longer fond of the still-charming Ms. Rosmerta and her clean three broomsticks? Are unshaven bar owners and dirty pig-head bars so attractive?
The twins also saw this happening, and Fred explained: "They might have gone to see Harry."
"Harry?" Ada asked, "Why would you go to the Pig's Head pub to meet Harry? Can't you do it at school?"
"Hermione proposed teaching herself Defense Against the Dark Arts, so they decided to set up a study group. Just like ours." George said. "It was Ron who told me. He found us and asked if we wanted to join. It would be best if I can take you with me."
At the end of the sentence, George even made a "you understand" look.
I understand, but I understand too well. I just want to see if I can get a chance to have sex for free. If Ada was in the Defense Against the Dark Arts study group, what kind of bike would it be?
"How did you two answer?" Ada asked as she and the twins walked into the Three Broomsticks and Ms. Rosmerta was standing behind the clean and bright bar.
"Of course I rejected him outright." Fred replied, eyebrows running across his face, "We firmly support your leadership."
"Yes, we must unite around you. But Ginny rebelled, and this little girl went to find Harry." George sued his little sister by the way, "What are you drinking?"
"casual."
The twins nodded and walked towards the bar, while Ada found an empty table and sat down.
Ada chose a seat by the window and sat down. After a while, the twins came back. The pair ordered themselves redcurrant rum, forgoing the Hot Whiskey.
Placing a glass of snail cherry syrup soda in front of Ada, Fred and George sat across from her.
"Try it, Ms. Rosmerta said this soda is very popular with girls." George said, "By the way, do we want to give Harry some help?"
With a skeptical attitude, Ada took a sip. The taste was okay, she didn't dislike it or like it.
Putting down the soda, she said: "It's not necessary. Just let them do this by themselves. This is a rare opportunity for them to grow."
Running a study group by yourself can not only improve Harry, Ron, and Hermione's own magic level, but also improve their organizational and leadership skills. This is a good thing.
From the fact that they chose the Pig's Head Bar to meet, it could be seen that the three of them were in urgent need of exercise, and their ideas were too immature. Choosing the Pig's Head was a bad smart decision.
Fred took a sip of rum and smacked his lips. He nodded and said: "George and I think the same way, let the three of them do it. If it doesn't get done well, we will be responsible for it."
As the number of people in the tavern gradually increased, Ada and the twins stopped talking about this matter and started talking about Fred and George's small business.
They will leave school in one year, so they need to prepare early.
Fred and George really wanted to sell Zuko's Joke Shop in Hogsmeade. They planned to investigate the shop in detail and then negotiate a transfer price with the owner after Christmas.
Ada was not optimistic about this and felt that the two brothers were just having their own whims. Although Hogsmeade is not the economic center of Diagon Alley, it is adjacent to Hogwarts.
During school, students cannot go to Diagon Alley, and Hogsmeade has become the only place for everyone to spend time, which makes Zuko's Joke Shop business very good.
Ada didn't think the shop owner would give up such a prosperous shop with a lot of money. But it doesn't matter, just give the shop owner a price that he can't refuse. Ada believes in the twins' business capabilities.
As the three of them chatted, the conversation got sidetracked, from Zuko's Joke Shop to the Three Broomsticks and the Pig's Head Bar, and began to discuss the reasons why the two bars were so different.
Finally, the twins concluded their speech, and everyone thought that the reason lay with the owners of the two taverns.
Ms. Rosmerta is a neat person, so the Three Broomsticks are clean and bright, attracting normal people; the Hog's Head Bar is dirty and messy, as if it comes from the underground, so it attracts some "interesting" people.
After drinking all the snail cherry syrup soda, Ada suddenly asked: "When did you two start not liking Ms. Rosmerta?"
"This is an awkward question!" Fred said, and the two brothers raised their glasses of red currant rum to suppress their shock.
"What's so embarrassing about this! Even though you two used to wish you had eyes for someone else, you're not in love with someone else." Ada said, "It's not poisonous to tell the truth."
The two brothers blushed when they heard Ada reveal their past embarrassment.
George put down his glass and said: "I was still young at that time, just a young boy's longing for maturity and beauty. It's just appreciation, you know? Appreciation is not as dirty as you think."
"What do I think is dirty?" Ada felt that she was really unjust. "Which two little bastards watched it when they were in second grade..."
"That's a big packet of bubble powder, we've already explained it," Fred said. "I swear on the candlestick, we haven't read a book like that."
Ada didn't believe this, but she still showed respect to the twins and didn't hold them back.
Taking a look at the twins' wine glasses, Ada found that there was still rum in it. She said disgustedly: "Drink quickly, they are raising fish here! After drinking, I will take you to meet someone."
