Chapter 471 No. 12 Grimmauld Place
The night swallowed up the last light in the sky, and Ada walked down the street depressedly, feeling very angry.
After walking through a messy and deserted small square, Ada stood in front of a row of old houses. It's the kind of old building that greatly affects the appearance of the city.
The houses here look a bit eerie at night, as if a ferocious monster will jump out of them at any time. Counting the house numbers silently, Ada stopped between houses No. 11 and No. 13.
After waiting for a while, a broken door appeared out of thin air between the two houses, and then dirty walls and gloomy windows also appeared. It was as if an extra house had suddenly expanded, pushing out everything on either side.
12 Grimmauld Place, the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix.
Walking up the broken stone steps, Ada pulled out her wand and knocked on the door with peeling paint. There was a loud sound of metal colliding and a clattering sound like a chain. Then, the door creaked open.
Crossing the threshold and entering the almost dark foyer, Ada saw a dancing blue eye.
"Nice to meet you, Professor Moody," Ada said. This evil eye belonged to Alastor Moody, the best of the year's professors, who had never taught Defense Against the Dark Arts for even a second.
A row of old-fashioned gas lamps on the wall suddenly lit up, casting a flickering, unreal light that illuminated the peeling wallpaper and frayed carpet in the long, gloomy foyer.
"I haven't been a professor for a second," Moody said gruffly, "Arthur said you would come today, but I didn't expect you to arrive so late. Got into trouble outside?"
Moody limped toward the house with Ada.
Ada, who was following Moody, said: "No, I just went to meet a bigoted idiot. We chatted for a long time, so I came late."
There were hurried footsteps as Mrs. Weasley emerged from a door at the other end of the hall. She walked toward them in three steps at a time, with a warm smile on her face.
"My dear, you are finally here." Mrs. Weasley hugged Ada tightly. Then he pushed away a little more and looked at Ada carefully.
"I'm hungry, are there any more meatballs?" Ada whispered. She had no intention of mentioning that she was going to see Percy, and mentioning it would only make Mrs. Weasley more sad.
Mrs. Weasley pushed Ada towards the door she just walked out of. She said: "Of course, how could there be no Ada! I left it for you in advance."
Behind that door was a cavernous room surrounded by rough stone walls. A long wooden table was littered with parchment rolls, goblets, and empty wine bottles.
Mr. Weasley and his eldest son Bill sat at the end of the table, their heads together and whispering. Hearing the door open, Mr. Weasley stood up and walked to Ada.
He proudly said to the people in the room: "Esmeralda Drizzt, I think you must have heard her name more or less!"
As he spoke, Mr. Weasley's bald spot seemed to lighten up a bit. He was truly proud of Ada from the bottom of his heart.
"Of course, I know you so well." Sirius said in a fuss, "This crazy girl left a foot-long scar on my shoulder!"
Sitting next to Sirius was Lupine. The gentle werewolf professor stretched out his hand, pretending to take off his friend's clothes. He smiled and said: "Why don't I believe it's a foot long? Take it off and let us see it!"
Tonks, who was wearing bubblegum powder, waved her hands excitedly, but accidentally knocked the cup on the table to the ground.
Without thinking of talking, Tonks immediately bent down to pick up the cup that had fallen under the table. She picked up the cup without incident, but when she stood up, her head hit the wooden table hard, causing her to burst into tears.
Fortunately, everyone grabbed what they had at hand in advance, so Tonks didn't make a mess.
Kingsley Shacklebolt put down the bottle of wine in his hand and raised his hand to Adayan. He said: "The two of us finally have a good opportunity to meet! Do you want to have a drink to celebrate?"
At this time, Mrs. Weasley, who was passing by Kingsley, slapped him hard and said, "If you want to drink, drink by yourself. Don't use Ada as a inducement."
Kingsley spread his hands, shrugged, and raised his eyebrows, all three actions in one go, using silent words to resist Mrs. Weasley's "tyranny."
"Hestia Jones." Weasley introduced, pointing to a witch next to Kingsley. Hestia, with black hair and pink cheeks, waved her hand.
"That's Emmeline Vance." A dignified and elegant witch nodded slightly. She sat on the other side of Hestia Jones.
"Find a place for Ada to sit down first, Arthur!" Mrs. Weasley snapped, pinching her waist, frowning, and glaring at her husband. Behind Mrs. Weasley was a steaming cauldron.
Mr. Weasley, who was slightly henpecked, immediately arranged a place for Ada to sit, which happened to be opposite Tonks.
Mrs. Weasley came over with hot meatballs, and the fragrant food instantly swept away Ada's fatigue from the day.
After a while, there was another sound of footsteps in the house. Before the door opened, the Weasley twins appeared in the kitchen.
"I told you not to Disapparate in the room!" Mrs. Weasley shouted at the twins.
Fred and George promised their mother, but turned around and used their wands to summon the pumpkin juice in her hand. The twins sat on either side of Ada, winking at her.
"For heaven's sake!" shouted Mrs. Weasley, "even if you two can cast spells outside of school, you don't have to whip out your wands for everything!"
Amid Mrs. Weasley's shouting, the kitchen door was opened, and Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny filed into the room.
Crookshanks and Gallon followed him into the kitchen. The off-white Galen ran towards Ada to please him, but was ignored by Ada who was concentrating on enjoying the food. The ginger Crookshanks darted up to the table and plucked the cork here and there.
The twins were chattering in Ada's ears, talking about how they passed the Apparition test and how many orders they had taken recently behind Mrs. Weasley's back...
They are all trivial things, but they make people enjoy them.
There were also the sounds of Mr. Weasley and Bill talking about Bill's new job; the sound of Sirius and Lupin fighting, they were still wondering whether the scar on their shoulders was a foot long; and bursts of laughter. , that was the sound of Tonks making Harry and the others laugh.
Ada liked the feeling, and it would be better if it wasn't dirty and the Order's headquarters.
Suddenly there was a harsh crunching sound in the kitchen, which was very inconsistent with everything around it.
Then Moody's rough voice came up and he said, "Give me a glass of water, Molly, please."
"Mad-Eye, it's disgusting what you're doing, isn't it?" Tonks said kindly, "Ada's still eating!"
Ada, who had her head lowered, had no idea what was going on, so she heard Fred whisper in her ear: "Don't look up, don't look up!"
"Trust us, don't look up." George also said in a low voice, "You will thank us."
Originally, Ada had no interest, but Tonks' words made her have no desire to look up. But the twins' whispering in her ear aroused Ada's curiosity and made her want to know what Moody had done.
Unable to suppress her inner curiosity, Ada still raised her head. She saw Moody take out his magic eye and put it in a silver cup with the clan emblem printed on it.
Moody poked the magic eye with his hand, making it float and sink. Fortunately, the cup was not transparent, otherwise Ada would have seen the eye swish. After poking it several times, Moody took the magic eye out and put it back again.
Returning to its proper position, the magic eye first stared at the people in the room one by one, and then began to rotate rapidly, as if it was equipped with a motor.
Ada finally knew why Alastor Moody was called Mad-Eye. It wasn't because he was crazy, but because of his fast-moving magic eye.
Looking at that blue eye, Ada suddenly felt a little confused. She seemed to be motion sick.
At this time, behind Ada's back, Fred and George showed their true faces. The two brothers quietly high-fived each other
