Chapter 898 Anxious Weasley
He tilted away from the frame of the portrait and disappeared. Just then the door was opened again and Professor McGonagall led Fred, George and Ginny in. The three of them looked disheveled, sleepy-eyed and very shocked.
"Harry - what happened?" Ginny asked looking very scared. "Professor McGonagall said you saw Dad injured-"
"Your father was injured while working for the Order of the Phoenix" Dumbledore replied before Harry could speak "He was taken to St. Mungo's Hospital to be treated for magical injuries. I will take you back to Sirius' house from there to the hospital than from Hogwarts will be more convenient for you and your mother to meet there."
"How do we get there?" Fred asked a little scared. "Use Floo powder?"
"No," Dumbledore said, "It is not safe to use Floo powder now. The passage is under surveillance. You use the portkey." Dumbledore pointed to the old kettle on the desk. "We are waiting for information from Phineas Nicholas. I want to make sure this place is safe before sending you there-"
The firelight in the middle of the office flashed and a golden feather fell to the floor.
"This is Fawkes' warning" said Dumbledore grabbing the fallen feather. "Professor Umbridge knows you are not in bed. Minerva go and stop her - tell her any stories -"
A deep tartan Professor McGonagall left the room.
"He said he would be happy" said a bored voice behind Dumbledore as Phineas had reappeared in front of his Slytherin frame.
"My great-great-grandson certainly has odd tastes in choosing his tenants."
"Come here and..." Dumbledore said to Harry and Weasley. "Hurry before anyone else comes in."
Harry and the others gathered around Dumbledore's desk.
"Have you all used portkeys before?" Dumbledore asked and they nodded each reaching out to touch part of the black kettle.
"Okay. Count down to three. One, two." In a very short time, just before Dumbledore said "three," Harry looked up at him - they were very close - Dumbledore's clear, blue eyes His eyes moved from the portkey to Harry's face.
Harry's scar immediately burned, as if the old wound had opened again - unfettered, unwanted, but very powerful. Harry felt a strong hatred in his heart. At that moment, he didn't care about anything but using his sharp teeth. Bite the man in front of him.
"three."
Harry felt a strong push behind his navel and the floor disappeared beneath him. His hand clung to the kettle. Colorful whirlpools and gusts of wind accelerated as he bumped into other people, pulling them forward. Until his knees clasped together and his feet hit the floor hard.
The kettle fell to the ground and a voice came from not far away: "The blood traitor is back again. Is their father really dead?"
"Get out!" yelled another voice. Harry glanced around. They had returned to the dark basement kitchen of 1 Grimmauld Place. The only sources of light were torches and a burning candle illuminating the remaining scraps.
Kreacher disappeared through the doorway to the hall, looking back at them as he fastened his belt. Sirius ran towards them looking anxious. He was still wearing his usual clothes and unshaven and smelled of drinks like red wine.
"What's going on?" he said reaching out a hand to help Ginny to her feet.
"Phineas Nicholas said Arthur was seriously injured."
"Ask Harry" said Fred.
"Yeah, I want to know too," said George. The twins and Ginny stared at him.
Kreacher's footsteps stopped on the stairs outside.
"Yeah-" Harry started. This was more difficult than telling McGonagall and Dumbledore. "I had a dream-" He told them what he had seen, from an outsider's perspective, while more horrifying thoughts kept Harry bottled up.
Ron, still pale, gave him a quick glance but said nothing. Fred George and Ginny continued to stare at him for a moment after Harry finished describing the incident. Harry didn't know if he was imagining this but he thought there was something reproachful about their expressions.
If they blamed him for just watching, then he was happy.
"Is Mum here?" Fred said turning to Sirius.
"She probably doesn't even know what happened yet," Sirius said. "There is something important that requires you to leave before Umbridge intervenes. I hope Dumbledore has let Molly know about this by now."
"We have to go to St. Mungo's..." Ginny said hurriedly. She looked at her brothers who of course were still in their pajamas. "Sirius, could you lend us your cloak or other clothing?"
"Wait a minute you can't go to St. Mungo's in tears!" said Sirius.
"We could go to St. Mungo's if we wanted to," Fred said with a stubborn look. "He is our father!"
"How are you going to explain that you knew about Arthur's attack before the hospital told his wife?"
"What does it matter?" said George fiercely.
"This is important because we don't want to draw attention to the fact that Harry can feel things hundreds of miles away!" Sirius said angrily. "Do you know how the Ministry of Magic would interpret this information?"
Fred and George didn't seem to care what the Ministry of Magic would do. Ron remained pale and silent.
Ginny said "Someone else might have told us. We might have known about it somewhere besides Harry."
"Like who?" Sirius said impatiently. "Listen your dad was injured while working for the Phoenix Order. There's no way in that situation his kids would have known about the situation within seconds of the incident. You would have severely damaged the Phoenix Order."
"We don't care about orders!" Fred yelled. "We're saying our daddy's dying!" George howled.
"Your father knows what he's doing and he won't thank you for destroying the Phoenix Order!" Sirius said equally angrily. "That's it - that's why you're not a member of the Order - you don't understand - some things are worth it To die for!"
"Keep calm." Fan Lin, who had just returned from the Apparition, said, "Daisy said that Mr. Weasley was seriously injured, but the therapist did not say that your father will die, so wait. Wait here for Mrs. Weasley, who is more anxious than any of you, instead of getting angry at people who care about you."
No one continued to speak, Ginny just turned paler.
"Listen, what I can tell you..." Fan Lin glanced at Sirius, "Your father was not injured in vain. If you join, you will know what this means!" (To be continued)
