Chapter 5 Skeleton Upgrade

With the meaningless spells of the Fallen Demon wizard, the fallen demons that had turned into corpses climbed up from the ground again with balls of fire.

The black magic energy that had originally escaped quickly returned to their thin bodies. They were nourished by the magic energy and became full of energy. Perhaps because they had died once, they became more aggressive and were not afraid of the sharp bone knives in the hands of the skeletons.

With a crash, under the fierce attacks of six or seven fallen demons, a skeleton finally exhausted its last bit of life and turned into a pile of bones again. In less than a second, there was another crash, and another skeleton was smashed into pieces by the fierce fallen demons.

With only the last skeleton left, Volod finally woke up from his fanatical impulse. His already pale face became even more bloodless, and he turned back and shouted desperately: "Go, don't worry about me."

Lan Wu seemed to be oblivious and rushed directly into the encirclement of the fallen demons with the little skeleton. At this time, he was already covered with wounds. Although the wounds were not deep, thanks to the small blade in the hands of the fallen demon, which was not very sharp, both legs were covered with wounds. The blood stained both legs red, which looked very scary. If it weren't for the mild healing potion that Volod had given him before, he would have bled to death at this moment.

The condition of the little skeleton was not much better at this time. This was the fourth time Lan Wu had summoned a little skeleton by using the skeleton resurrection. Its slender bones were full of pits and holes, and were covered with gaps caused by sharp and blunt weapons. Especially its skull, which was jumped high by a fallen demon and smashed a small piece of bone with a stick, revealing the empty cranial cavity inside.

One man and one skeleton broke into the siege, causing great trouble to the fallen demon. The upper hand that was finally gained was wiped out by this man and one skeleton. They screamed and besieged the two humans and the two skeletons more and more.

"Seize the opportunity to summon skeletons." Lan Wu pierced a staff into the eye socket of a fallen demon. The fallen demon was already seriously injured, and after being hit, it screamed and lost its life.

Vorod looked at Lan Wu with gratitude, and immediately cast Skeleton Resurrection, summoning a fresh skeleton before the fallen demon wizard resurrected the fallen demon.

With the addition of the new skeleton, the battle gradually tilted towards Lan Wu. Lan Wu and the three skeletons fiercely resisted the siege of the fallen demon. Volod seized every opportunity, took the initiative, turned the corpse of the fallen demon into a new skeleton, and then swung a short staff to engage in close combat with the fallen demon.

One by one, the skeletons lost their magic power and fell, and one by one, they gained new magic power and stood up from the corpse of the fallen demon. The three skeletons, whose life, defense, damage, etc. were better than the fallen demons, swung their bone knives like the sickle of the god of death, and quickly and swiftly harvested the lives of the fallen demons.

"Save yourself. I'll kill the Fallen Demon Wizard." Lan Wu saw that the battle situation had stabilized, kicked the Fallen Demon in front of him, and rushed to the Fallen Demon Wizard 20 meters away.

The Fallen Demon Wizard saw Lan Wu rushing towards him, and muttered a few words, raised the skull wizard staff and shook it. With a bang, a ball of fire the size of a human head appeared out of thin air and shot directly at Lan Wu.

Fireball, another major skill of the Fallen Demon Wizard. However, for all veterans, the threat of the Fallen Demon Wizard's fireball can be almost ignored, but the skill of resurrecting the Fallen Demon is more of a headache for veterans. Especially for veterans like Lan Wu who suffer from obsessive-compulsive disorder.

The flying speed of the fireball is not fast, but it is not slow either. It's like a person throwing a stone from 20 meters away. Lan Wu easily dodges and continues to move forward with the little skeleton.

The Fallen Demon Wizard shook the staff again. Another fireball flew out with a bang. Lan Wu dodged again. Just as he avoided the fireball, he heard a muffled bang behind him. He looked back and saw that the little skeleton was exhausted and could not dodge in time, so he was hit by the fireball.

After a fight, the little skeleton was seriously injured, so how could it withstand the fireball fired by the fallen demon wizard. The fireball exploded, and the little skeleton turned into a pile of broken bones.

Lan Wu clenched the staff in his backhand and pointed at Volod. Another brand new skeleton stood up. He saw the skeleton that had just been summoned from the corner of his eye, and he was stunned for a moment.

This newly summoned little skeleton is exactly the same as the previous one. The same slender bones, short body, and even the bone knife in his hand is missing a piece. The only difference is that the whole body of bones is intact, and it is a complete skeleton.

Lan Wu was a little surprised. Whether in the game or watching the skeletons summoned by Volod, they are exactly the same, and there is no difference. But when he saw the skeleton he summoned, he was a little confused.

"Uh... seems to be more complete?"

While thinking, Lan Wu avoided the fireball thrown by the Fallen Demon Wizard. There were only thirteen or fourteen meters left to the Fallen Demon Wizard. He exerted his strength again, crossed the distance of three or four meters, raised his hand and pointed at the Fallen Demon Wizard.

Although the Fallen Demon Wizard has wisdom that the Fallen Demons cannot reach, it is still a Fallen Demon after all. When it saw Lan Wu raised his staff ten meters away, it panicked and turned around and ran.

Lan Wu smiled. Without the obstruction of the fireball, his speed was much faster. The Fallen Demon Wizard was old and relied on powerful magic to rule the tribe. When it comes to running away, it can't even compare to the little Fallen Demon who just learned to run.

Ten meters is not short, but it is not long either.

After chasing behind the Sinking Demon Wizard, Lan Wu picked up his staff and smashed it into the Sinking Demon Wizard's head. With a thud, the thumb-thick staff hit the fallen magician on the head. It screamed in fright, desperately turning left and right, trying its best to get away from this human professional.

Lan Wu was not in a hurry and always stayed behind the Sinking Demon Wizard. Without the resurrection of the Sinking Demon Wizard, those Sinking Demons have been completely suppressed by Warrod's three skeletons.

The little skeleton was lagging far behind, looking very impatient. It nimbly jumped over the corpses of the Sinking Demons, avoiding the falling Demons one after another, and quickly caught up with Lan Wu.

When the help arrived, Lan Wu roared, swarmed up with the little skeleton, and stopped the Sinking Demon Wizard. Before he could, he threatened the fallen magician first. The little skeleton had raised only half of the bone knife and struck the Sinking Demon Wizard hard on the back.

Screaming in agony, the Sinking Demon Wizard gave up in pain, threw away his witch staff, and rolled on the ground. The wound was covered in dirt, causing it even more pain. Just like all mages in the game, once they get close, they can only be beaten.

Lan Wu also stopped taking action. After all, the staff is not suitable for close combat. He looked helpless as the little skeleton slashed at the Sinking Demon Wizard one after another.

The damage of the small skeleton is too low.

After nearly thirty cuts, the poor fallen wizard was finally free. The black demonic energy gradually rose from its corpse and divided into three streams, which were frozen in the air and floated towards Lan Wu and Little Skull.

Warmth flowed through his body, and Lan Wu had a clear understanding in his heart. I upgraded myself again. After careful calculation, I have killed more than thirty Sinking Demons and one Sinking Demon Wizard from just now, and the experience gained is indeed enough to level up.

Not long after, the Sinking Demon Wizard was completely decomposed into demonic energy. The mass of black air condensed in mid-air suddenly compressed inward, and with a soft clang, a ring fell to the ground.

Lan Wu felt a little regretful when he saw the ring falling. Compared with jewelry such as rings, it is far less useful than a piece of cloth armor. It is really a big test to move around naked in such a temperature. He stepped forward and picked up the ring.

This ring has a simple style and is inlaid with a thumb-sized ruby. Unfortunately, it has not been identified yet. It looked like the ring was covered with a layer of dust, making it very inconspicuous.

"It's better than nothing." Lan Wu stuffed the ring into his beach pants pocket and turned to look at Warrod. Unexpectedly, when he saw the little skeleton, he was a little distracted.

The little skeleton has completely changed from before. The slender bones became dense, glowing with a faint white light, and looked very smooth. The biggest change is the weapon in its hand. The bone knife, which had only half of it left, finally regained its full shape. The blade, which is more than one meter long, is streamlined. The blade flashed with a cold light, obviously it was a rare weapon.

"Oh, you've also upgraded." Lan Wu roughly guessed the changes in the little skeleton.

The little skeleton has been upgraded and is obviously much more lively. It kept moving quickly around Lan Wu's body, and his bones all over his body emitted a faint white light, and he seemed to be in a very good mood. The clicking sound of the bones rubbing together during the movement actually had a vague rhythm to it, as if it was playing a ballad.

Lan Wu thought this little skeleton was very strange. The skeleton summoned by Warrod did not have so many weird features, and always maintained the attitude that a skeleton should have.

At this time, Warrod led three skeletons to end the battle. He was in a pretty good mood. I thought I was unlucky and would die at the hands of a group of fallen demons, but I didn't expect that it was a blessing in disguise that I got such a large amount of demonic energy. Once absorbed, he believed that moving up to another level would no longer be a distant dream. In addition to being excited, he looked at Lan Wu with more sympathy.

It's a pity that the team contract was not reached. Otherwise, he could gain a little more experience and at least be able to advance to another level.

Naturally, Lanwu didn't know that Warrod regretted that he hadn't been able to share so much experience. He is studying this little skeleton he summoned. He moved the little skeleton, pinched its cheekbones, tapped the skull lightly, and then carefully pinched all the bones in its body.

Perhaps it was an illusion, but Lan Wu felt that this little skeleton seemed to be resisting his research. He stopped and held the little skull's head curiously, looking up and down carefully. Soon he realized that this little skeleton was really resisting his research work, and some resistance came from his hands. While he was wondering what was going on, Warrod had already absorbed the huge mass of demonic energy and came over.

"Dear Lan Wu, it's a pity that you missed the opportunity to share the magic energy." Warrod looked at Lan Wu with sympathy in his eyes.

Lan Wu rolled his eyes, took out the ring and waved it in front of Warrod without raising his head, and then asked: "Are there any extra identification scrolls? Lend me two."

After waiting for a long time and not hearing Warrod's response, Lan Wu looked up. Warrod was seen with a dull look on his face, looking at the ring in his hand stupidly. He was a little puzzled, but when he saw Warrod's clean hands, he immediately understood completely.

"It seems that the explosion rate of these professionals is obviously not high." Lan Wu thought thoughtfully.

"Ring, you actually got a ring. God, you must have been favored by the gods." Warrod shouted excitedly, his pale face covered with a blush.

"Maybe." Lan Wu was noncommittal and asked again, "Lend me two identification scrolls."

Hearing that Lan Wu wanted to borrow the identification scroll, Warrod suddenly became nervous and looked away hesitantly: "A scroll costs eighty gold coins. I have no intention of making money from you. If you don't believe me, you can ask Master Akara."
