Chapter 1 Bloody Wasteland

The sky was gloomy. Dark clouds pressed down to the ground. Pale white light flashed from time to time in the clouds, followed by rumbling thunder. A downpour was coming.

There was a faint strange smell in the air, like blood that had been fermenting for a long time, mixed with soil, tree roots, salted fish, etc., which made people feel a bloodthirsty impulse in their hearts.

Lan Wu stood on the dark brown land, his face blank. He didn't know where he was. His only memory was playing games at home, and then he appeared in this strange wasteland in the next second.

A few clumps of black and red weeds bent down with the wind. The wind gradually grew stronger. A few drops of rain fell from the dark sky and landed on Lan Wu's face, bringing him back to his senses.

"It seems that I have traveled through time." Lan Wu seemed to have realized something and began to check the things on his body.

A T-shirt, a pair of beach pants, a pair of flip-flops... Oh, there seemed to be more coins in the pockets of the beach pants.

Lan Wu reached out and really took out a dozen coins... Well, it should be said that they were about the same size as coins, but they were small bone gadgets.

These gadgets were a bit strange in shape, but Lan Wu could tell the origin of these gadgets at a glance.

Small amulets, which were exactly the same as the small amulets used for cheating in Diablo 2 that he had played. He counted them and found a total of fifteen, which was the same as the standard number of characters in his previous Diablo games.

+7 all skills, 155% better chance to get magic equipment.

Recalling the bug amulet in his memory, Lan Wu seemed to have realized something: "If I'm not mistaken, this is the world of Diablo. So I should have a personal panel and skill tree, as well as a backpack and storage box?"

Lan Wu began to try. After trying countless methods, all game-specific systems such as personal panels disappeared without a trace. He fell silent and looked around.

The wasteland was open and flat. At first glance, except for a few abstract trees, the view was quite good and there was no obstruction to block the view.

The wind was getting stronger and stronger. A drizzle began to fall from the sky. Lan Wu looked around and saw that there was no better place to hide from the rain, so he walked quickly towards the nearest tree.

Before he got close, a strange smell with a slight stench came with the wind. Lan Wu frowned and looked up at the sky. The raindrops were getting bigger and denser. Gradually, a rain curtain was drawn between the sky and the earth. He sighed helplessly, quickened his pace, and walked under the tree.

As expected, the trunk of the tree was dark brown and exuded the strange smell of a slight stench that he had just smelled. Lan Wu couldn't be picky. There was no other place to take shelter except here.

The rain was getting heavier and heavier. The sky and the earth seemed to be covered with a thick layer of white gauze. The dense rain curtain covered everything. The field of vision suddenly shrank a lot, and only the scenery within 200 meters could be seen clearly.

Lan Wu had a headache. This kind of environment is the most annoying. The narrowed field of vision means that danger cannot be discovered in the first time. Now he can only hang out in the wild. If he cannot discover danger in time, his life may be lost at any time in this strange wasteland that looks like a blood wasteland.

Fortunately, although the rain was heavy, it lasted for a short time. After about half an hour, the rain stopped. But the wasteland was still filled with a thin white mist.

The raindrops dripped from the leaves and fell on Lan Wu's T-shirt, which was already wet by the rain. His skin was slightly cold, and Lan Wu began to worry again.

In the wilderness, if you don't change into dry clothes in time, you will probably catch a cold. Although the temperature here is not low, it is not that high. Lan Wu estimated that this place is currently in the period of late autumn and early winter.

Getting sick is a taboo for survival in the wild. With a lack of medical care and medicine, catching a cold becomes a big problem. The illness will affect judgment and waste too much unnecessary physical energy. It will also lead to the inability to deal with various emergencies.

Lan Wu is self-aware. Although he often exercised when he was in college, after graduation, he basically only went to the office, the vegetable market, and home. It is more important to stay at home and catch up on sleep during holidays than to go out for exercise. Therefore, his physical fitness has seriously declined and is far worse than before.

Just as he was thinking about how to overcome the first difficulty in this world, the ground not far away suddenly bulged. After a while, a rotten arm poked out from the wet soil. A foul smell drifted with the wind, making Lan Wu frown.

"Rotten corpse? This time it's troublesome."

While thinking, Lan Wu looked around, looking for a handy weapon. Finally, he chose the branch at the bottom of the big tree next to him. He jumped up, jumped high, grabbed the branch and fell. With a click, the trees in this world are obviously not that hard.

The arm-thick, more than three meters long branch fell to the ground with Lan Wu. He stepped on the branch and roughly processed it. A wooden stick about two meters long and as thick as an arm was made.

After swinging the stick, Lan Wu found that although the stick was not very hard, it was still handy. He dragged the stick backwards and walked quickly to the place.

At this time, most of the corpse had crawled out of the ground. Corpse worms were running around in the rotten head, and pieces of rotten flesh on the body were scratched off by the mud. The wounds with black mucus were nauseating.

Lan Wu tried several times, but in the end he couldn't make up his mind to get closer to deal with this rotten corpse that was currently completely unable to move. The stench was too pungent.

The wooden stick was raised high and fell heavily, hitting the head of the rotten corpse, splashing large pieces of rotten flesh and corpse worms. Even though Lan Wu asked himself that he was extremely strong in his heart, he still felt nauseous in the face of this beautiful scenery that made people unable to look directly at it.

"If I don't kill it, it will kill me. So, it has no choice but to die." Lan Wu hypnotized himself again and again. The wooden stick in his hand smashed the rotten corpse firmly and powerfully.

Aoao... The rotten corpse opened its rotten mouth and let out a series of creepy roars. A pair of rotten arms waved randomly, as if trying to block the wooden stick falling on its head, and as if trying to scratch Lan Wu. But half of its body was buried in the soil, and it had no power to fight back against Lan Wu who was standing nearly two meters away.

The rotten corpse was full of energy and roared continuously, with no sign of weakening. On the contrary, Lan Wu was so tired that he was out of breath and could hardly swing the stick.

"It seems that exercise should be put on the agenda as soon as possible." Lan Wu supported his knees with both hands and gasped heavily.

Without the attack of the wooden stick, the rotten corpse seemed to be tempted by the delicious meal in front of it, and crawled more vigorously. Not long after, its thighs had squeezed out of the soil.

Lan Wu was calm. He leaned on a wooden stick, looked up and down at the corpse that was trying to crawl out of the ground, and muttered to himself: "The head should be the most important organ of a living thing. This corpse is supposed to be the same as the zombies in Resident Evil. A severe blow to the head should be able to kill it. How come it is still alive and kicking after such a long fight?"

After a slight pause, his eyes suddenly fell on the wooden stick in his hand: "Oh, it seems to be the problem with this wooden stick. If this is really the world of Diablo, then weapons should have basic damage. This wooden stick obviously does not have the characteristics of a weapon, so it can't kill this corpse. Oh, no, there should be damage, but the damage is too low to show."

Looking at the corpse with only its calves still buried in the soil, Lan Wu swung the wooden stick again and tried hard. Under attack, the corpse's long-rotten brain obviously did not have the ability to think. The rotten hands stopped struggling and grabbed Lan Wu in mid-air.

Lan Wu spent three hours beating the corpse, which was rotten to the point of only bones, and finally exhausted the last bit of blood and lay powerlessly on the wet soil.

Lan Wu didn't care that the ground was muddy and even mixed with some rotten meat. He took two steps back and sat down to rest. He was too tired. He had been beating for three hours and exhausted all his strength. This was a way of exercise he had never thought of.

Panting, Lan Wu looked at the corpse not far away. After three hours of adaptation, he was immune to this rotten corpse. He looked at the wooden stick on the ground and smiled helplessly.

If you change to a wooden stick with weapon characteristics, dealing with a rotten corpse may be easier than eating. After all, the rotten corpse is just one of the lowest monsters in the dark world.

At this moment, the rotten corpse suddenly changed. Wisps of black air rose from the rotten corpse and hung in the air without dispersing. When the black air condensed to the size of a fist, the rest of the black air suddenly separated a wisp and floated straight towards Lan Wu.

The sudden change shocked Lan Wu. This situation was unheard of. God knows if this black gas is poisonous gas, and you will be poisoned by the corpse once you smell it. He raised the little physical strength he had finally recovered and crawled to the distance with difficulty.

The floating speed of the black gas was obviously much faster than Lan Wu's crawling speed. The black gas floated to the top of Lan Wu's head, suddenly sank, and sank directly into Lan Wu's body. In an instant, Lan Wu only felt a hot current in his body, and the whole person was much more energetic.

"Oh, this black gas is the experience in the game?" Lan Wu sat on the wet soil again, looking thoughtfully at the condensed black gas.

At this time, the rotten corpse had disappeared without a trace, not even a bone residue was left. The black gas kept changing shape, constantly compressing inward, and finally condensed into the size of a coin. With a flash of golden light, the black gas suddenly disappeared, and a golden coin fell from mid-air and printed on the wet soil with a snap.

"The gold coin exploded." Lan Wu seemed to understand something. After regaining some strength, he stood up and walked closer to pick up the gold coin. On the front of the gold coin was a demon head with two horns. On the back was a majestic ancient palace.

Lan Wu held the gold coin in silence. So far, all the confirmed conclusions point to one fact: he really came to the world of Diablo.

But what about his personal panel? What about the skill tree?

After pondering for a long time, Lan Wu determined that the most important thing for him at the moment was to find the Rogue Camp, which was said to be one of the last strongholds of mankind. Only there could he find the information he wanted.

Just thinking about it, Lan Wu looked around to determine the direction. Unexpectedly, just as he turned his head, a bloodless, dead face suddenly walked into his field of vision.

He immediately swung a wooden stick and smashed it down without thinking.
