Chapter 1221 Helicopter Display

After coming to this world, Cyric used the knowledge in his brain as a golden finger to make Germany's science and technology develop rapidly. Under the leadership of Cyric, Germany's military technology is even more advanced in this era.

In the cutting-edge field, rockets, atomic bombs, long-range bombers, and Germany have all begun to advance steadily. In conventional weapons, tanks, fighter jets, and artillery have avoided taking all kinds of detours and produced the most suitable ones directly.

However, Cyric could not cover everything, and the entire World War II expanded, involving too many aspects.

Cyric pays attention to the development of fighter jets, such as the air-cooled engine FW190, such as jets, which have appeared earlier than history, but Cyric ignored another aircraft that was not very common in this era, that is helicopter.

When it comes to the originator of the helicopter, there will be a lot of debate. The earliest argument is that Leonardo da Vinci has already appeared in his paintings. Of course, the level of technology at that time was impossible to achieve.

It was only in recent decades that the idea of helicopters became popular again.

In 1904, the then Russian scientist Professor Zhukovsky published a paper entitled "The Load Capacity of the Rotor", which aroused great repercussions in Russia, and then the development of helicopters began to prevail in Russia, the most famous of which is the Western Koski and Yuryev.

At the same time, in Germany, Baumgartau was the first to manufacture helicopters. He began to manufacture coaxial helicopters in 1913, but this type of helicopter could not be left empty for a long time. The ensuing World War I interrupted the development of German helicopters.

And so in 1927, Fleet began researching helicopters. He built a helicopter that uses large rotors to provide lift, propels propellers for flight, and is equipped with a 20-horsepower engine. During the test, the helicopter was successfully lifted into the air, but the stability was not good. The sudden crosswind caused the aircraft to lose its balance and crashed on the ground. The test was terminated.

Without Cyric's impetus, the development of German helicopters almost followed historically.

Fleet wasn't going to give up his helicopter, he was just waiting for his chance, and it was 1935.

This year, the German Navy proposed to develop a helicopter that can be used on the ship. For the Navy, if they want to detect the enemy, they can only rely on the seaplane on the ship. There is no big problem with the catapult takeoff, the main thing is to land. , they were to land on the water and then be recovered by the warship's cranes.

In combat, recovery will be delayed at any time. If there are aircraft that can take off and land vertically, it will be much more convenient for the Navy.

So, after getting this news, Fleet immediately invested in the construction of a factory specializing in the production of ship-based helicopters near Berlin. It didn't take long for him to develop the Fi-184 helicopter, which used a 150-horsepower Sh14a engine, three blades, and a blade diameter of 12 meters. During the test flight, it was found that the performance of the aircraft was poor, so he developed the Fi-185. The Fi-185 was developed in 1936, similar in appearance to the Fi-184, but its performance is still not ideal.

During this time, another aviation expert in Germany also started the development of helicopters, that is, Fokker-Wolff. , Dr. Gast, etc., to overcome the difficulties together.

A few years later, their Fw-61 was also built and won the favor of the Luftwaffe.

But so far, their helicopters cannot be said to be fully mature, and they still have big technical problems, which is the reason why they have not been able to finalize their service until now.

When Cyric got out of the car with a group of high-ranking officials and saw the helicopter that was preparing for a flight demonstration, Cyric knew what the problem was.

This is the advantage of the traversers. The technicians here have to go through many years of hard work, conduct many studies, and go through countless twisted roads before they can finally find the right way.

But what about transmigrators? Just bring the plans of later generations. In the simplest terms, it is the layout of jet fighters. There have been many attempts in history. The final result is that jets are different from propeller planes. The propeller plane is in the front, and the jet plane The engine is at the back, and the layout of the body is completely different.

These will take a long time to try, but Cyric can point it out directly, reducing a lot of detours.

And the same goes for helicopters now.

Cyric also accidentally got the news that the Navy was developing a carrier-based helicopter. After hearing about it, he immediately asked to organize an air show to show himself. Now, when Cyric saw the real thing, he knew the detour he was taking. .

At this time, Fleet was excited to meet him and said to Cyric: "Report to the President, our Fi-282V aircraft is about to conduct a flight demonstration. I am very happy to show you the powerful performance of our aircraft."

In the temporary viewing venue, Cyric sat on a chair and looked at the plane in the distance. Of course, this was for safety reasons. In case of a mechanical failure, these senior personnel could not be hurt.

"The first is the take-off and landing show, President Cyric, can you see the open space in the distance? The one with the circle, our plane, can take off and land in a small area of 4 meters by 4 meters. , this is a necessary condition to be able to board the warship." Fleet explained to Cyric.

Vertical take-off and landing is very practical in the navy, and the deck of the navy can also be given such an area.

Cyric was holding the binoculars and clearly looking at the helicopter over there. He was taking off swayingly. The whole process was like performing acrobatics. He took off from the circled area here and flew up to three or four meters. After that, it moved more than 50 meters to the side, and then, in the circle area here, carefully landed.

The prototype of this helicopter is fully enclosed, but in the later production, it becomes an open top, of course, so that the pilot can easily observe the surrounding conditions, which is very beneficial for take-off and landing.

I saw the pilot operating the helicopter, shaking it back and forth a dozen times, and finally landed accurately.

"Okay!" The naval commander Redell who was present first applauded: "With this precise take-off and landing, our navy can place orders for more than 50 aircraft."

"Thank you for your compliment, Commander. We will continue to perform the air show, please continue to watch it." Fleet said with great excitement.

"This helicopter has a fatal flaw." At this moment, Cyric spoke, and his words made everyone present stunned.
