Chapter 7 It's Time to Show Real Skills
"Why are you bullying grandpa!" Franz ran over crying.
Franz II saw his grandson running over and subconsciously pushed Prince Erthachy away. Touching his grandson's head, he said.
"What's wrong? Grandpa is the emperor, no one can bully me."
"Then why are they surrounding you and grabbing your arm just now! I saw it all, they just want to bully you!"
"I didn't! I didn't mean it! You kid, don't talk nonsense!" Erthachy was used to being bossy, how could he bear being framed for no reason, so he said casually.
Prince Erthachy realized that something was wrong and wanted to explain.
Although Prince Metternich and Count Korolav were shocked at first, they were old hands after all. What scene had they not seen?
"Erthachy, understand your own identity! How dare you talk to Archduke Franz like this!" Metternich's implication was that you, Erthachy, don't take the royal family seriously?
Count Korolav was not as tactful as Metternich. He roared directly, "What are you going to do to the emperor! How dare you!"
Count Korolav was more vicious. He directly confirmed that Prince Eltházy was planning to harm the emperor. Although Archduke Franz is not the emperor now, who can guarantee that he will not be in a few decades?
With the help of these two big guys, Franz saw that the time was ripe. He didn't need to say anything. He just had to do one thing, that is-cry!
Originally, Emperor Franz II didn't care too much, just thinking that Prince Eltházy was too excited. But after the two old sinister people fanned the flames, the old emperor had a nameless fire in his heart, and Franz suddenly cried loudly. He finally couldn't suppress his anger and threw the golden wine glass at Prince Eltházy.
If you say that people are unlucky, even drinking water will get stuck in your teeth. Elthazi subconsciously blocked it, and the wine glass bounced back and hit Franz II's forehead.
Things got out of hand! Seeing that the situation was not good, Elthazi wanted to see if Franz II was injured.
But Count Tural, the Minister of War, shouted and rushed forward.
"Your Majesty is injured, protect your Majesty!"
The Grand Duke Louis standing next to Franz II was Franz II's younger brother. He was the commander of the imperial guards. Although his brain was not very bright, he was absolutely loyal to Franz II personally.
The first time Franz II was hit by the wine glass, Grand Duke Louis stood next to Franz II. Hearing someone shout "Protect your majesty", he subconsciously drew his sword.
The sword in Grand Duke Louis's hand was the only weapon in the entire Hall of Mirrors. As soon as he drew his sword, the atmosphere in the entire Hall of Mirrors suddenly became tense. The Royal Guards knew that the Grand Duke was not very smart, but the nobles and their followers did not know, and they were immediately in chaos.
When Grand Duke Louis saw Ertehazy rushing towards his brother, he immediately swung a sword. Grand Duke Louis just wanted to separate the two, and Ertehazy dodged in time and was not injured.
But this scene was a different scene in the eyes of the people below.
Because he did not trust the Germans, the followers that Ertehazy brought this time, except for Pitlu, only knew Hungarian.
So when the followers that Ertehazy brought saw this scene, their blood immediately boiled.
"Kill the Emperor of Austria and take his throne." This is a topic that Hungarian nobles often talk about. Although the great nobles said it as a joke, the small nobles who were the audience did not think so.
Besides, as Ertehazy's retainers, they only recognized Prince Ertehazy, not the Austrian emperor.
Ertehazy's followers pretended to rush to the throne to kill the old emperor.
The Royal Guards in the Hall of Mirrors may not be strong in combat, but their loyalty is guaranteed.
After all, many of them have served the Habsburg family for several generations, or even more than ten generations.
The entire Hall of Mirrors suddenly moved, and Erthhazy's followers rushed to the emperor's throne desperately.
The Royal Guards tried their best to stop them. Some blocked the way, and some rushed directly to Erthhazy's guards.
The captain of the Royal Guards even sounded the alarm that had not been sounded for hundreds of years.
Soon, the 800 Royal Guards on duty in various parts of the palace received the news and rushed to the Hall of Mirrors frantically.
A bunch of purple fireworks exploded over the palace. Seeing this, the city defense army and the captain of the Vienna garrison immediately assembled their troops to support the palace.
In the Hall of Mirrors, Erthhazy's followers had been subdued. Count Tural took the opportunity to knock down Prince Wendigoretz and punched him twice.
Prince Metternich hid behind a pillar and waited until the chaos subsided before coming out.
Count Korolav found a noble he didn't like and beat him up.
Only Baron Brook, an upright man, tried to stop Elthazi's followers and was knocked down by a punch.
The door was kicked open, and a large group of imperial guards poured into the Hall of Mirrors and surrounded everyone.
Elthazi looked at all this in disbelief. He couldn't believe his eyes, how could this happen.
To be honest, Franz himself didn't expect it. He originally only planned to get Elthazi, the leader of the opposition, out.
Unexpectedly, this time he was really completely out.
Franz II rubbed his head that had just been hit, his heart full of fear and anger.
"Elthazi, what else do you have to say!"
"I, I, I didn't mean it. For God's sake, believe me."
Franz II stood up, walked towards the collapsed Erthhazy, and pulled out the sword from Grand Duke Louis.
Seeing this, Erthhazy's body was shrouded in fear. He kept backing up with his hands, repeating "My ancestors have made contributions to the empire and shed blood for the empire."
Franz II raised his sword with a blank expression.
"I still have 3 million florins in the Vienna Bank."
Franz II's sword stopped in front of Erthhazy. Erthhazy felt hot under his body, and he was afraid that he had to change his pants.
Franz II took a deep breath. "Erthhazy, you didn't know how to judge people and mistakenly brought the assassin into the palace. Considering the merits of his ancestors and the fact that he was deceived, I now deprive him of his title, confiscate all his assets in Vienna, and order him to return to Hungary immediately and never set foot in Vienna in this life."
Franz II turned and walked towards the throne, throwing the sword in his hand to Grand Duke Louis.
Grand Duke Louis put away the sword and waved at the guards.
Prince Erthhazy was dragged out by two guards, his eyes were dull as if he had lost half his life.
Erthhazy's family owned a large area of land in Hungary, but most of his family's wealth was used to purchase properties in Vienna. So it is not wrong to say that he took half his life.
Compared with Prince Erthhazy, his followers were not so lucky. Since Pitlu was also brought by Erthhazy, he was taken out by the guards.
Pitlu thought that he might spend the rest of his life in prison. But he saw that one of the guards took out a noose from the bag. He wanted to run away and wanted to shout, but his mouth was blocked by a rag.
Petru only felt someone pulling him from behind, and the noose was put around his neck. The guards behind him began to rotate the noose at the other end of the noose.
The noose was circling around and around, and Petru struggled violently due to lack of oxygen. He tried to grab the noose with both hands to try to save himself, but the other party was an old hand and didn't give him a chance. Petru stomped his feet on the ground twice and stopped struggling.
A total of thirteen bodies were uniformly loaded on a special carriage and would be sent out of the palace in the evening.
