Chapter 666 Zuo Ruotong Realizes the Way to Heaven and Talks About Zhang Zhiwei's Realm
"There is no banquet in the world that must come to an end. Chief Zuomen, let's just say goodbye." Zhang Jingqing said, clasping her hands.
Even if Zuo Ruotong was about to turn around and leave, he saw Lu Jin saying goodbye to Zhang Zhiwei and others with a look of reluctance.
Even Lu Ci, who had a conflict earlier and was blushing, walked up to him, lightly punched his chest a few times, and hugged him goodbye.
Zuo Ruotong was stunned for a moment, remembering Lu Jin's escapades along the way. From time to time, he would argue with his companions and become red-faced. From time to time, he would occasionally utter a few swear words.
He recalled that when Lu Jin was at Trinity Gate, in order to be like him, to be in line with his senior brothers, and even to follow the rules of the family...
In short, it is the so-called immortal temperament that is deliberately maintained under various external objective factors.
The former is about following one's will and is true nature.
The latter is deliberately conventional.
There is no need to say which mentality is most beneficial to practice.
"Jin'er, simply cultivating in the master's sect may not be beneficial to your practice. You can continue to practice in the world with the little heavenly master. If you don't understand something, you can also directly ask the little heavenly master for advice."
Anyway, Zhang Zhiwei has even learned the third level of rebirth, and Zuo Ruotong is not worried about Lu Jin's practice going astray.
Lu Jin was stunned when he heard this. He was a little torn in his heart. He wanted to practice with Senior Brother Zhang, but he also wanted to follow his master back to the mountain.
He didn't feel it before, but since his master stopped being rebellious all the time, lost his youthful appearance, and became as old as his grandfather, he felt worried every time we were apart, worried that the separation would turn into an eternal farewell.
The reason why he and Lu Ci stayed in Longhu Mountain last time was because Zuo Ruotong left without saying goodbye, but this time it was in front of the master.
"Disciple wants to return to the mountain to serve his master!" Lu Jin whispered.
A son is better than his father, and his master is also his father.
Zuo Ruotong knew what he was thinking at a glance, and he couldn't help but laugh. He flicked out a blast of energy from his fingers and hit Lu Jin firmly between the eyebrows.
Lu Jin groaned. Zhang Zhiwei had already hit him on the forehead, but now there was another one. Zhang Zhiwei picked up the bag. Lu Jin bared his teeth and cursed, but when Zuo Ruotong hit him, he just He looked pitiful and didn't dare to talk back at all.
Zuo Ruotong said angrily: "You're worried that your life as a teacher will not be long."
Lu Jin quickly waved his hand and said: "No, no, master lives a hundred years, ah, no, he is as blessed as the East Sea, and his life span is as long as the Southern Mountains, the days are still long!"
Zuo Ruotong looked at Lu Jin and said in a deep voice:
"If it were before, your worries were not unreasonable. The teacher was really short-changed. But now, the teacher has found a way to extend his life, and the days to come are still long."
"So, put away your little daughter mentality and don't worry about not being able to see your teacher. Your teacher will always be waiting for you at Trinity Gate."
"As for you, if you want to go to Longhu Mountain with little friend Zhiwei, then go. If you really want to go back to the mountain with my master, then go!"
Lu Jin knew that his master never lied to others. When he heard what his master said, he immediately felt relieved and stopped worrying. He said happily:
"Then Master, I will continue to follow Senior Brother Zhang to Longhu Mountain!"
Zuo Ruotong nodded, and then floated away with his eldest and youngest disciples.
The three of them were walking on the mountain path overgrown with weeds, dressed in white but not dusty.
Both Zuo Menzhang and Cheng Zhen were very aloof people and didn't talk much along the way, but Li Muxuan was different. He still had the mentality of a child. After all, he was nicknamed the evil boy. Even if he was no longer evil, he was still a child.
Moreover, after he became a disciple of Zuomen Nagato, he did not deliberately suppress his temper, so after a while, he couldn't help it anymore and asked:
"Master, what are the ways to prolong life that you mentioned?"
What he practices is human magnetism, which can sense the strength of the human body's magnetic field. According to his induction, after Zuo Ruotong turns on the reverse rebirth, the magnetic field emitted from the whole body is extremely strong, but after turning off the reverse rebirth, the human body's magnetic field is very strong. weak.
This kind of weakness is not the weakness that has been restrained like the Little Heavenly Master, but is really starting to decline.
Therefore, he could feel Zuo Ruotong's physical condition more intuitively than Lu Jin. In the past, he just didn't ask, but now that Zuo Ruotong said it, he started asking.
Zuo Ruotong did not hide anything and said calmly: "The method of sage stealing is to absorb the natural essence of heaven and earth to make up for one's own shortcomings. It can appropriately replenish the deficient innate energy."
By replenishing the innate Qi, wouldn't this mean that the breath-eaters are immortal? Li Muxuan was shocked. He glanced at Zuo Ruotong's face and asked tentatively:
"Then Master, can we learn?"
Cheng Zhen glanced at Li Muxuan and felt that this junior brother was a little ignorant. If the master is willing to teach, of course he can learn. If the master is unwilling, is it possible that you still peep?
"The saint thief created by my master can be passed on to you after returning to the mountain. However, the saint thief given by the Celestial Master and the Little Celestial Master will not be passed on to you by my master without their permission."
"In addition, it is also because your cultivation level is not enough to control this way. Even if you practice it, you will only go astray."
Zuo Ruotong reminded: "Don't say it's you, even if you are a teacher, you have to be careful. You have to think about every drink and every peck. You must not have any wild and irrational ideas about letting everything in the world be taken."
This last sentence is not so much a reminder to his apprentice as a reminder to himself.
Li Muxuan's heart trembled. If Zuo Ruotong only said that he couldn't control it, he might be a little unbelieving and want to give it a try.
But the master later comforted him and said that he also had to be careful. The dissatisfaction in his heart disappeared instantly, and he no longer had any peeps at him.
After a while, someone asked again:
"Master, what did you say before that you understood the way to the future?"
The person who asked the question this time was not Li Muxuan, but Wu Chengzhen. Li Muxuan had not yet reached the second level of cultivation, and the road ahead was still there, so he was naturally not in a hurry.
But Cheng Zhen has been immersed in the second level of reverse life for many years. The last time he learned that the third level cannot reach the sky, he was the one who was hit the hardest besides Zuo Ruotong.
When he heard Zuo Ruotong say that he had found a way again, he started to feel excited and he didn't calm down all the way.
Originally, he wanted to ask after returning to the mountain gate, but after seeing Li Muxuan asking the saint thief, he finally couldn't help it.
When the eldest disciple asked a question, Zuo Ruotong did not hide it and said in a deep voice:
"In the past, the ancestors said, 'My true body is too empty and empty? But it is too empty and empty, so it can transport the empty space.'"
"It means that our body comes from Taixu. As long as we return to Taixu, we can achieve enlightenment, so we must train ourselves back to the innate energy."
"This idea is a bit too narrow. After many suggestions, I have gained a new understanding based on the ancestors."
Wu Chengzhen and Li Muchuan quickly held their breath and pricked up their ears, for fear of missing a word.
Zuo Ruotong could only be heard saying slowly: "Our life comes from the innate energy, and the innate energy comes from Taixu. This Taixu is what our Trinity Sect says. Each sect has its own You can understand it as the objective world."
"We rely on Taixu to exist, but we are also bound by Taixu's rules, which leads to the continuous reduction of innate Qi, and then the body's destruction."
"If you want to make your own innate energy last forever and your life be immortal, you must get rid of the objective shackles of Taixu."
"The way to get rid of the shackles is not to train yourself to become an innate energy, because the innate energy is also an objective existence. It is also within the rules of Taixu. Even if you really succeed, you can't be freed."
"And if you want to get rid of the bondage, you must go through inner introspection with caution and fear, step by step, without thinking about transcending yourself, and gradually eliminate the objective desires of greed, anger, obsession, and sensuality and odor that are blessed by Taixu."
"Getting rid of these, we can get rid of the shackles of the human body, so that subjectively, the truest and purest self can be revealed, so that we will not be affected or controlled by our own objective conditions, and at this point..."
Zuo Ruotong looked up at the sky and murmured to himself: "In terms of Buddhism, he should be an Arhat!"
"If you want to go further, you must continue to practice and let yourself be in harmony with the universe and the universe."
"In this way, you can achieve the state of immortality. This may be a true immortal."
Zuo Ruotong sighed: "After cultivating to the state of Arhat, I already know it in my heart, but if I take it a step further, I don't know the direction. However, you can't aim too high, at least there is a road ahead to follow."
"Arahant status?" Wu Chengzhen asked, "Master is talking about the highest Arahant status in Theravada Buddhism?"
Zuo Ruotong nodded.
Wu Chengzhen was puzzled: "Master, we don't cultivate Buddhism, how can we achieve the fruition of Buddhism?"
Zuo Ruotong said: "Actually, Taoism has similar divisions. However, Taoism is very random. After passing through generations, those fruition positions have been given too many things that they didn't have originally. It is not as intuitive as the strict hierarchy of Buddhism."
"As for the so-called Arhat status, the actual purpose is to seek liberation for oneself, and first seek to escape from the world."
"Arhat is not necessarily a monk. No matter whether he is a monk at home or has practiced to a certain level, he can become an Arhat. It's just that the title is different."
"My teacher is just using the attainment status of Buddhism as an example to distinguish. It does not mean that I practice Buddhism, or that at this stage, there is no difference between practicing Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. Different paths lead to the same destination!"
The Trinity Sect follows the path of unifying the three religions. Wu Chengzhen is naturally no stranger to Theravada Buddhism. He asked:
"Master, as far as I know, the fruition status of Hinayana Buddhism is divided into four fruition Arhats. The first fruition Arhat is called Sotapanna, the second fruition Arhat is called Situapanna, the third fruition Arhat is called Anagami. The fourth fruition Arhat is called Arahant. You In which fruit position?"
Zuo Ruotong thought for a moment and said, "I guess I won't be able to achieve fruition!"
Wu Cheng was really shocked: "Master...how could this happen?"
Zuo Ruotong smiled and said: "Don't underestimate the fruition status of Buddhism. This first fruition status is also called the pre-flow fruit. What kind of pre-stream is it?"
"Pre-Saints and others, they are already Preparatory Saints, which is equivalent to having half a foot in the ranks of Saints."
"In the past decades as a teacher, I have been cultivating supernatural powers. Although I have been cultivating myself, my obsession with rebirth is too deep. Therefore, according to the requirements of Buddhism, I cannot enter the fruition state."
In fact, this is just a humble statement from Master Zuo. He does have a deep obsession with rebirth, but his practice over the years has not been in vain.
Buddhism has a strict classification of fruition levels. Those who have achieved breakthroughs will be at that fruition level.
From an ordinary person to the highest Arahant, one needs to break through the confusion of views and thoughts.
To be confused is to see through fame and wealth.
It is divided into five types. Once you overcome the confusion, you will enter the fruition state, which is the Sotapanna of the First Fruition Arhat.
Confusion is the seeing through of one's own desires, and it can be divided into five types, such as greed, anger, ignorance, hatred, and infatuation.
The more that are broken, the further the fruition will be.
If all ten of these are seen through, then you will have attained Arhatship, that is, you have reached the state where all five aggregates are empty.
The Taoist sect's classification of fruition positions is very arbitrary. You can call it a Taoist, you can call it an Immortal, or you can call it anything else.
In fact, Lu Dongbin once made a similar Buddhist classification of immortality, but basically no one used it.
Because people are different, some people may not be able to see through the five confusions completely, but in the process, they have seen through some of the five confusions. What kind of attainment should this be considered?
Zuo Ruotong was in this state. He saw through some confusions and confusions, but there were also some that he couldn't see through.
According to Buddhism, he has not entered the fruition state.
But in fact, he is at a much higher level than many monks who have achieved fruition.
After listening to Zuo Ruotong's words, Wu Chengzhen fell into deep thought.
Li Muxuan asked: "Master, according to what you said, does it mean that the methods we usually practice are sideways and useless?"
Chengzhen continued: "I have read a Buddhist scripture, saying that the Buddha once said in his later years that Mahayana Buddhism in the human world is not manifested by supernatural powers. All supernatural powers are heretics. The greater the supernatural power, the more demonic obstacles there are?"
Zuo Ruotong shook his head and said: "That's not the case. Everything must be seen in the context of the time!"
"Whether it's the third level of reverse birth from our Trinity Sect, the thunder method from Tianshi Mansion, or the saint thief, they are all crutches, it just depends on how you use them."
"If you hit someone with a cane, it means that the greater the supernatural power, the more demonic obstacles there will be."
"If we walk well with a cane, it is a means of protecting the road and can help us go where we want to go."
Zuo Ruotong sighed: "In the past few decades, I have been repairing a walking stick. All I thought about was that after repairing the walking stick, I would reach the end."
"So whether you are walking forward or backward, you are looking for materials to make this crutch better and more suitable for walking."
"Now that the walking stick has been repaired, I was surprised to find that I hadn't started walking yet."
"Fortunately, I woke up not too late. Next, I will use this crutch to walk step by step on the path I want to take."
Crutches and Tao... Wu Chengzhen asked: "What about Master, the kind of Little Heavenly Master?"
Zuo Ruotong smiled and said: "The little Celestial Master developed a good body when he was practicing Taoism."
"Or, the direction in which he exercises his body is exactly the direction of his path."
"But no matter what, when he reaches this stage, it actually doesn't make much difference whether he has a cane or not, and whether he hits someone with a cane or not."
"Then Master, what state is the little Celestial Master in?"
Li Muxuan asked. He has a child's mentality and likes to ask about his level and whether his methods are powerful.
Zuo Ruotong thought for a moment and said: "He is not a Buddhist from the Eight Sutras. In Buddhist terms, it may not be objective, but my teacher guessed that he is a Bodhisattva of the tenth level."
