Chapter 1111 Traveler Trouble

He was disappointed, he was wronged, and he didn't know why he couldn't cultivate such a little fate after five hundred years.

That night I dreamed of Bodhisattva again.

The Bodhisattva said that if he still wanted to see that person, he would be a tree for another five hundred years, and maybe he would get a little fate.

He felt that since he had already waited for five hundred years, it would be nothing to wait another five hundred years.

He really liked that guy.

In this way, he stood by the river for another five hundred years. Five hundred years later, one day at last, that person came from afar from the river again.

This time he was not excited, did not waver, just stood there quietly.

For this day, he gave up the opportunity to be a man, and made a tree for a thousand years, suffering too much and hurting too much heart.

He has been able to wait for that person's arrival with a peaceful heart.

I saw the man walking towards him, walked under his shade, sat down peacefully, and sat for seventy-seven forty-nine days.

It turned out that that person was the Buddha Sakyamuni, and this tree was the Bodhi tree, which later became a Buddha together with the Buddha. "

The Buddha suddenly said something that had nothing to do with returning to vulgarity, and the monk Bianji was a little puzzled.

At the end of the hearing, he understood that this was the Buddha's advice to himself in another way.

Sure enough, the Buddha continued:

"In fact, each of us always has a bodhi tree in our hearts. Some people succeed because they stick to it, and some people end up failing miserably because they run away from the battle.

One bodhi tree, two outlooks on life.

Among all living beings, what we need to look for is such a bodhi tree. As long as it is worth looking forward to, no matter how far or how difficult it is, we should persevere.

Of course, you are doing it for a woman, for the holy love in your heart, but it used to be your holy love to devote yourself to the Buddha, do you really want to waste all your previous efforts? "

After the Tathagata Buddha's words fell, all the Buddhas present fell silent.

These people have gone through the six sufferings in the world and converted to Buddhism after seeing through the red dust.

Seeing that some people want to return to vulgarity now, in fact, I still have a different view in my heart.

Some people think that if they have a Buddha in their hearts, it doesn’t matter whether their bodies are monks or not, while others think that disrespecting the Buddha is disrespectful to the Buddha.

Seeing that Monk Bianji remained silent, the Buddha said again:

"It is said that people have one hundred and eight kinds of afflictions, and Sakyamuni said that these afflictions are the culprits that trap human beings in suffering.

Among these afflictions, there are three most severe ones, namely "desire", "ignorance" and "anger", which are called "three poisons".

The worldly people are creatures living under the control of the "three poisons".

I want to live a better life than others, I want to make money easily, I want to get ahead as soon as possible.

This desire for material and fame is hidden in everyone's heart.

If these desires are not fulfilled, it turns into anger: "Why didn't things go my way?"

In addition to being angry, you will feel jealous of those successful people.

The average person will be dominated by such troubles anytime and anywhere.

However, if people are at the mercy of the "three poisons", they will never feel happiness.

Once, Shakyamuni Buddha used such a story to describe people's greed and describe the scene of people indulging in desire.

He once said that there is no other story that can express human greed so vividly.

The story goes like this:

One day in late autumn, amidst the fallen leaves and the cold wind, a traveler hurried home.

When he walked to a certain place, he suddenly looked down and saw a white thing under his feet. On closer inspection, it turned out to be a human bone.

How can there be such a large number of human bones here? He couldn't help being horrified, but also puzzled.

He just ran forward, and when he looked up, he saw a huge tiger approaching him with a roar.

The traveler was so frightened that he was out of his wits: "Ah! So many human bones turned out to be leftovers eaten by tigers."

He hurriedly turned around and ran for his life, but in a panic, he ran up a cliff and ran up a cliff.

Looking around, there was a pine tree on the cliff, and he quickly climbed up, but the tiger was a cat, and it opened its terrifying giant claws, and began to climb the tree.

"Today, my life is over!" Just as he was losing all hope, he suddenly saw a vine hanging below him. He had no choice but to slide down the vine, but the vine didn't reach the bottom, and the traveler was suspended in the air. middle.

Below is the sea with strong winds, huge waves, and raging waves.

Although the tiger above couldn't climb down the vine, it still stared at him with its tongue out and drooling, just like the so-called "watching like a tiger".

Just as he was about to take a breath and think about what to do next, he suddenly heard a rustling sound from above. When he looked closely, two mice, black and white, were alternately gnawing at the root of the cane.

Once the cane is bitten off by the rat's teeth, the traveler will fall into the sea.

When his life was hanging by a thread, the traveler shook the cane desperately, trying to drive the rat away.

Under the sway, a wet and warm liquid fell on his face, and when he licked it with his mouth, it was sweet honey.

It turns out that there is a honeycomb at the root of the rattan, and when it is shaken, the honey will fall down.

Licking the nectar-like honey, the traveler became so intoxicated that he forgot that the rattan was still being eaten by rats, and enjoyed the delicious honey unrestrainedly.

However, on the sea below, three giant dragons, red, black and blue, appeared in the violent wind and waves, waiting for him to fall and enjoy his meal.

The traveler dared not look down, but only dared to look up at the hive, shaking the vines and licking the falling honey.

Buddha Shakyamuni said: "This is our human nature."

You may find it funny to hear that, but that's exactly who we are now.

The story told by Shakyamuni Buddha can be explained as follows:

The traveler in the story walked alone on his way home in the cold autumn wind.

The same is true of our life. No matter how many friends we have had, life is still a journey of one person in the final analysis. A person is born and a person dies.

Here, the tiger is a metaphor for impermanence, which means death.

From the moment of birth, people are threatened by death, and the shadow of death, the tiger, chases us all the time.

Therefore, people will try various health care methods, ask doctors to see a doctor, or convert to religion, and use all kinds of methods to avoid death.

The pine tree that was finally climbed refers to the status and wealth accumulated so far.

But even with these, death comes relentlessly, and status and possessions are of no use at this point. "

Tathagata Buddha said this, and looked up at the monk Bianji, "You can understand what I said, in the face of life and death, everything is false. Of course, including your love."

If life is gone, what is love?

These words implied vigilance, and made Monk Bianji understand the current situation. Once someone does not follow the Buddhist creed and insists on returning to vulgarity, the end may be very miserable!

A cold and chilling atmosphere spread in Daleiyin Temple...
