Chapter 30: A Family
Oops! Andre's feet still felt the pain from the high heels. He thought that Ekaterina was already very unhappy because he had just stared at her. Now, this girl knew him and mobilized her classmates and teachers to say that he was a hero. His fans came out all of a sudden, and Andre didn't know how to explain it.
And now, Annie obviously misunderstood. When she saw the two of them and a three-year-old child, she actually thought they were a family. In short, everything was a mess!
How would Ekaterina react? Andrei glanced at Ekaterina from the corner of his eye, and saw her tucking her bangs down from her forehead with her hands, and then said to Anne, "Yes, let's go out for dinner together."
Admit it! Is this Ekaterina's reaction to the fact that she was dissatisfied with him just looking at her? What would Ivan say? Children speak without restraint. If he said that he was not a cheap father, wouldn't it be a cold reception?
Andrei looked at Ivan again. This kid's entire attention was focused on eating. He had already finished half of the large plate of meat. His appetite was simply not proportional to his body size.
"Sister-in-law, you are so beautiful. Even after having a child, your figure is still so perfect. We are so envious of you. Dear classmates, we have met a great hero today and we must have a drink with him!" When Anne heard Ekaterina's answer, a hint of doubt flashed in the depths of her eyes, and then she returned to normal, complimented her a few times, and turned her attention back to Andrei.
Drinking? Andrei was not afraid of drinking. After all, he was a man, a real man in the Soviet Union. How could he not drink? However, Andrei had just been discharged from the hospital and could not drink recently.
Just as Andrei was beginning to be conflicted again, Ekaterina took the wine glass handed to her by Anne and said, "Classmates, Captain Andrei needs a clear mind to fly a fighter plane, so he can't drink. Let me drink this glass of wine."
Hearing this, a look of disappointment flashed across Anne's face again. Ekaterina in front of her had already raised her head and poured all the wine in the glass into her mouth. Russian women are really powerful!
So Anne had no choice but to follow suit and drink the wine in her glass.
This is vodka with a high alcohol content. After drinking it, Ekaterina's face turned red.
Oh no, Catherine actually can't drink. She just doesn't like Anne, so she's drinking with her out of spite!
"That glass of wine just now was a toast to our great hero. This glass of wine is a toast to our hero's wife. Behind every hero, there is a great woman." Just after finishing drinking, Annie actually poured another glass of strong vodka. Even Andre, who was one meter away, could smell the smell of alcohol.
"It is a truth that is universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want to be a wife." This is the first sentence of Pride and Prejudice. Translated, it means that any wealthy bachelor must need a wife. This has become a truth universally acknowledged. Then this sentence evolved into that behind every successful man there is a woman. And now, Anne adapted this sentence and made it into a toast.
No more drinking! Andrei wanted to stop her. After all, Ekaterina was not his wife, but someone else's. If she pretended to be his wife and got drunk here, she would be in big trouble when her husband came to find her. If the incident went to Soknovka, how would he survive in the future?
As if she knew what Andre was going to say, the proud goddess, Ekaterina, stopped Andre's actions with her eyes, picked up the wine glass and drank it all.
"Students, let's give the hero couple some time and don't disturb them." The professor was the first to notice that his student Annie seemed to have done something a little out of line. Why was she drinking with the hero's wife? How uneducated!
At the professor's call, the students reluctantly returned to their seats and continued their previous topic.
"Ekaterina, are you okay?" Andrei whispered to the goddess opposite him.
"Of course I'm fine." Ekaterina said, "You just recovered from your injury and have a slight concussion. You absolutely cannot drink alcohol, but you can't lose face for these students. Alas, Andre, I never thought that after leaving the hospital, I still have to take care of you."
Then take care of me for the rest of my life! This sentence came to Andrei's mouth, but he looked at Ivan, whose lips were already greasy from eating, and still didn't say it. What if she has a husband and is just on a business trip? Wouldn't he become the third party who destroyed other people's happiness?
The students at the tables next to them were still making noise, but at Andrei's table, they were eating quietly. At this time, Ekaterina carefully cut pieces of grilled meat on the iron plate with a knife and fork, put them into her mouth, and chewed them carefully. It seemed that she must have eaten Western food often in the past!
"Come on, open your mouth." Suddenly, Ekaterina on the opposite side said to Andrei with a smile.
Andre was flattered and opened his mouth. He watched the delicate little hand holding the fork and stuffing a piece of barbecue into his mouth. It was like a stream of clear spring water flowing into Andre's heart.
What's going on? Why are they so affectionate all of a sudden? When Andre turned his head, he noticed Anne's gaze and immediately realized that Ekaterina was just pretending for Anne. This woman's sixth sense was too strong, wasn't it?
It was originally planned to last only half an hour, but the meal lasted more than two hours. Only after everyone at the next table had left did Ekaterina signal Andrei.
"Come here and hold me, I feel a little dizzy." Ekaterina said to Andrei.
No wonder she refused to leave. She was afraid of making a fool of herself in front of Annie. This woman was very strong inside. Unfortunately, she chose the wrong person. What happened today could have been avoided. After all, she was not familiar with Annie.
"Mom, how can you drink? This meat tastes better." Ivan, who was standing aside, didn't seem to worry about Ekaterina at all. He watched her being helped up by Andrei, and then, his legs became weak, and his body involuntarily leaned on Andrei's strong chest.
Feeling the surging waves, Andre had a feeling of being pampered and tempted. God, are you testing me?
Holding Ekaterina's arm, we walked out of the restaurant and a Moscow taxi stopped at the right moment.
