Chapter 180: The Nile River Monster (Modified)
When Allen and Ron were standing on the balcony enjoying the scenery of the Nile, they discovered something strange.
The weather outside was so hot that there was actually a group of people by the river, standing in the scorching sun, forming a crowd!
"Let's go down and have a look." Allen suggested.
Ron, whose curiosity was aroused, immediately nodded in agreement.
They walked to the river, and it turned out that this group of people was surrounded by a big sandpit.
An Egyptian in a white robe and a red hat was standing next to the sandpit, gesturing and paddling.
He gave orders with a low voice, his face was flushed and sweating, and he seemed angry about something.
Several barefoot young men stood beside him with shovels and pickaxes.
"I said it, I said it a long time ago, you can't come to the river alone at night! Why are you disobedient? Don't dare to tell us, but bury the body in the sandpit instead! Stupid!" The white-robed man pointed at the sandpit Said.
Allen and Ron looked at the bunker, and Ron couldn't help but exclaimed. A decomposed animal corpse was dug out, and only a small part was buried in the ground.
"What is this?" Ron asked Allen quietly.
Allen endured the discomfort in his heart, looked at it a few times, and confirmed: "This is a donkey!"
One of the primary means of transportation for the Egyptians was the donkey.
People rushed over from the direction of the village in twos and threes, and there were even more people around the bunker, standing together in a crowd.
This seriously affected the digging work, especially the children who were drilling around.
In the crowd, the man in white robe raised his voice, "Back! Back!"
He seemed to have authority in the group, and everyone backed away in conviction.
"Nasser, what happened?" someone in the crowd asked.
"It's a water monster. The Nile River monster has appeared again! This is the evidence." Nasser pointed at the corpse in the pit and shouted.
"Stupid Hassan encountered a water monster. Fortunately, he escaped at the cost of losing his donkey!" Nasser pointed to a dark-skinned, thin man holding a shovel.
"Because he was afraid of being jealous by the villagers, he concealed the truth about the reappearance of the water monster! If Saleh hadn't found out, how many people would have been killed!" Nasser roared and almost dropped his red hat on the ground.
Hassan stood aside dejectedly.
"I emphasize again, try not to go to the lake at night! Be careful!"
People who learned the truth retreated one after another, leaving only the first few people, who continued to deal with the rotten donkey in the sandpit.
"Is it really a water monster?" Ron was a little curious.
"I can't be sure, after all, it rots too fast." Allen replied.
There is an aborigine in the village who is very business minded. Seeing so many people gathered together, they even pushed the beverage cart out to sell.
Allen and Ron also leaned over, and it turned out to be watermelon juice, apple juice, and some beer.
Allen bought some of everything, and Ron and he took the beer back to the villa.
These drinks are hugely popular. Arthur also conjured up a lot of ice cubes to keep the drinks ice cold.
Allen and Ron told everyone what happened by the lake just now.
"Coward, you're a wizard, so there's nothing to be afraid of." George teased Ron.
"Of course I'm not afraid, it's just to remind everyone to pay attention to safety." Ron defended himself.
The Weasley twins ran away laughing.
"Anyway, let's try not to go out at night." Molly chased after her and told her, keeping her eyes on the twins until they both nodded in agreement.
In the evening, Ron and Allen were talking about what they knew about the pyramids, the origin of the mummy and other issues.
In fact, Alan was talking and Ron was listening, asking questions now and then.
"Osiris' body was shattered into fourteen pieces, but he can still be resurrected?" Ron asked in disbelief.
"What's the matter? Some people have completely lost their bodies, and their souls are broken into seven or eight pieces.
Also looking for a chance of resurrection. "Alan was very calm, thinking of the mysterious man.
At this moment, Allen heard footsteps coming from the door.
In the bright moonlight, Allen saw the doorknob turning—someone wanted to open the door.
Allen jumped up all of a sudden, pointing at the door with his wand.
The doorknob turned. The door creaked open.
Two tall, vague figures stood in the doorway.
When the two shadows staggered into the room, Allen saw it clearly, and couldn't help holding his breath in shock.
Even in the dim light, he could see what it was—"It's a mummy!"
In the twilight, the mummy staggered into the living room, with both arms stretched forward, as if trying to catch Ron - and Alan was already laughing.
Ron opened his mouth wide and looked like he wanted to scream, but nothing came out.
Knowing the identity of the other party, Allen deliberately pulled out his wand, aimed at the mummy and began to chant exaggeratedly, and the mummy really made a familiar voice.
"Don't attack, it's us!"
It's George and Fred!
Ron threw the pillow out of the bed angrily, hitting George's bandaged chest and bouncing off again.
Fred and George burst out laughing, apparently having fun.
"Didn't you say you're not a coward?" George's words provoked Ron.
"I'm not a coward! It's just that your appearance is terrible!" Ron's face flushed with anger made his freckles more obvious, and he didn't think it was funny at all!
"I said he'd be scared!" said Fred to George.
"I knew it was you, I recognized you as soon as you came in!" Ron defended himself.
"Alan is the one, he started laughing immediately when he saw us, and you should really look at your expression at that time, you looked like you were about to cry out of fright!" George said loudly, and started laughing again.
Ron grumbled, looking unhappy.
"Okay, don't be a little girl. Ellen, come here and help us tear these things off, it's not convenient for us to use the wand now." Fred asked Alan for help-although it was a small spell, it was obvious that he I have no confidence in my brother.
Helpless, Allen pointed with his wand, and the straps on their bodies fell off automatically, and they rolled into a ball by themselves.
"Ron, you said you're not a coward, do you dare to go for a walk by the river?" George rolled his eyes and came up with another idea.
"Just wait!" Ron stood up angrily.
Allen hurriedly followed behind. Something really happened by the river, and Ron himself was too dangerous. Although Allen found that the twin brothers were also quietly following behind, he obviously didn't really feel at ease and let them go alone— —Actually, Alan wondered if it was a convenient excuse for their parents to use afterward to deal with their parents because they wanted to go out and explore.
The Nile River at night is extremely quiet, but in Ron's view, there are many crises hidden under this tranquility, and we must be prepared for it.
"Alan, look!" Ron suddenly pointed to the middle of the lake.
Looking in the direction Ron pointed: a horse appeared swimming freely in the lake, and after Alan took a closer look, he realized that its mane was made of broad-leaved cattail grass.
