Chapter 530: Bad Weather
The further north the train went, the heavier the rain fell. The sky was dark, the windows were foggy, and lanterns were lit at noon.
The dining car rattled along the corridor, and Harry bought a stack of cauldron cakes to share.
In the afternoon several friends, including Finnigan, Dean and Neville, came to visit them.
Because of Fan Lin's health, he didn't want to be watched, especially on the Hogwarts train.
The Daily Prophet has already distributed his reports, which can be said to be overwhelming.
Of course, he will be watched, like a monkey in a zoo, which feels very bad.
With the help of Hermione, Fanlin completed the transformation of Animagus.
He took Crookshanks' place, and he slept in the innermost seat of the box.
In fact, it would be okay to be held by Hermione, but the girl probably wouldn't want to.
Seamus still wore his Irish satin knot, and some of its magic seemed to have been spent, although it still squeaked like "Teg! Mallet! Moran!" All the sounds are gone.
Several people asked about Fan Lin as soon as they came in. They asked if it was true.
After getting a positive answer, the subsequent topic about Fanlin became a colloquial language that I knew.
Neville seemed to have noticed that Hermione had a new pet, but he didn't mention it much.
Apart from a few young wizards who felt sorry for Fanlin's absence, the only thing left was at least Quidditch.
Of course, no one would mention the dark wizard, but the Quidditch game before Fan Lin showed his power was also very topical.
After about half an hour, Hermione got tired of the endless Quidditch conversation and began to read the Standard Charms Textbook again. Fourth grade" is trying to learn a summoning spell.
Neville listened jealously as others relived World Cup matches.
"Grinzo doesn't want to go," he said bitterly, "and won't buy a ticket, as surprising as it sounds."
"Yes." Ron said, "Look at this, Neville..."
He rummaged through the suitcases on the luggage rack and pulled out a miniature statue of Viktor Krum.
"Wow!" Neville exclaimed enviously, and Ron stuffed Krum into his chubby hands.
"We saw him very close," Ron said. "It was in the upper class compartment."
"That was the first and last time in your life, Weasley."
Draco Malfoy appeared in the corridor, with Clara and Goyle standing behind him. They were his best friends. They were tall and big, like criminals. They had grown at least a foot taller this summer. Obviously, Dean and Seamus heard the conversation through the carriage door as they left it open.
"Don't say you're joining us, Malfoy," Harry said coldly.
Malfoy was stunned for a moment, and he quickly glanced around. He had to make sure that the guy wasn't there, otherwise...
"Weasley...what is that?" Malfoy asked, pointing to the Peewee Army's cage.
One sleeve of Ron's robe hung from the cage and swayed as the train moved.
"Second-hand robes, you're still the same, Weasley."
"Shut up, Malfoy!" Ron shouted at Malfoy's tight hand and pulled the boy back. His face was as red as pig's liver. Malfoy's resulting laughter was a howl, and Crab and Goyle giggled along with him.
"It seems that you have no intention of signing up, are you, Weasley? This is a matter of course. If you can find something that suits your family's expenses..."
"What are you talking about?" Ron snapped.
"Are you going to sign up?" Malfoy repeated. "I think you will, Potter. You never miss an opportunity to show off, do you?"
"Either explain your words or get lost, Malfoy." Hermione said from the Standard Charms Textbook. The fourth grade student raised his head and said angrily.
An unexpected smile flashed across Malfoy's pale face.
"Don't tell me you don't know." He said happily, "Your dad and your brother are both in the ministry, and you don't know? God! My dad told me a few years ago...from Cornelius Fudge That sounds like it, but at that time, Dad often interacted with senior figures in the Ministry... Maybe your dad, who was in a low-level position, didn't know about this, Weasley... Yes, they most likely did not discuss important matters in the Ministry in front of him. ... "
Laughing again, Malfoy gestured to Clara and Goyle, and the three of them left.
Ron stood up and slammed the carriage door behind them so hard that the glass shattered.
This startled Fan Lin, and the hair on his body stood on end.
What to say, a normal reaction for a frightened cat.
"Ron!" Hermione yelled reproachfully. She pulled out her wand and said "Restore!"
The broken glass flew up and reformed into a single piece, then flew back to the door.
"Okay, just pretend that he knows everything, we don't..." Ron yelled: "Dad often interacts with senior figures in the ministry...Dad can get promoted at any time...He is just happy to be in his current position. …”
"Of course it is," Hermione said calmly, "Don't take Malfoy's words seriously, Ron -"
"Humph! Seriously! Dreaming!" Ron picked up a piece of leftover cake and stuffed it into his mouth.
Ron was still in a bad mood during the rest of the journey. They changed into school robes and he didn't say much. When the Hogwarts Express slowed down and finally stopped at the dark Hogsmeade station, he was still furious.
The train door opened and a thunder sounded. Hermione locked Crookshanks in a cage. Vanlin took Crookshanks' place. He was in Hermione's arms and covered by a cloak.
Cats can't get cold. Crookshanks' cage is good, but you can't lock a person in it.
Vanlin slept groggily. He even drank some magic potions to nourish his spirit, which made him lie dead the whole time.
Hermione said she would call him for dinner.
Ron covered the pig with his clothes and got off the train. Facing the pouring rain, they lowered their heads and squinted their eyes as they walked forward. Now the rain was heavy and fast, as if buckets of ice water were constantly pouring down on their heads.
"Hey, Hagrid!" Harry called out when he saw a tall figure at the far end of the platform.
"Hey, Harry?" Hagrid turned around and waved, "See you at the celebration, if you're not drowned!"
According to tradition, first-year students always take a boat with Hagrid across the lake to reach Hogwarts Castle.
"Oh, I can't imagine crossing the lake in this weather," Hermione said eagerly, and they walked slowly along the dark platform with the crowd. A hundred unharnessed carriages were waiting for them outside the station. Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville and a cat climbed into one of them gratefully.
Then, the door slammed shut.
A few minutes later, with a violent shake, the car squeaked and began its journey, splashing mud and water, stumbling on the road to Hogwarts Castle. (To be continued)
