Chapter 1485 The Great Calamity of Buddhism
After more than 2,500 years, the last Buddha of Buddhism died today.
This is not unforeseen for the Buddhists who once aspired to straddle the past, present and future. But what they foresee are unreliable things such as the solemn robbery in the past, the virtuous robbery in the present, and the starry robbery in the future.
In their vision, the change of world time should start from a small kalpa. According to the life span of a person, counting from the age of 84,000 years, one year will be reduced every hundred years until the life span of a person is only ten years old. At this time, this is a reduction of calamity. Counting from the age of ten, one year will be added every hundred years, and the life span will be increased to 84,000 years. Such a decrease and increase is a small kalpa in the Buddhist family, and such a small kalpa is almost equivalent to 16.8 million years.
After the small kalpa, it is the four middle kalpas of becoming, living, breaking, and empty. Every middle kalpa is twenty small kalpas, so it is 335,960,000 years. The combination of the four kalpas of becoming, living, bad, and empty is a great kalpa, which is equivalent to the existence of the past solemn kalpa, the present virtuous kalpa, and the future star kalpa as mentioned by Buddhism. And if this is the case, how old is a catastrophe? It is 1,343,840,000 years old.
1,343,800,000 years, for Buddhists, this is the world they think a generation of Buddhas should perish. Put your own history on the unreachable past, think that you have passed through a great calamity before entering today's Buddhism, and define the present as the present virtuous calamity.
But now Xian Jie has actually only passed two thousand years, compared to the 1.3 billion years they expected, it is a drop in the bucket. So in theory, they also think that they can enjoy bliss and well-being for as many as 1.3 billion years.
What is the concept of 1.3 billion years? For gods like immortals and Buddhas who were born among human beings, 1.3 billion years is almost equivalent to immortality, close to eternity. Therefore, the past, present, and future three calamities are nothing more than a cover in the final analysis. It's just a false statement to show off your greatness.
If the Tathagata sits in the present Xianjie, he will enjoy the position of the Lord for 1.3 billion years. To convert the concept, the Tathagata hopes that he can sit in the Paradise of Ultimate Bliss forever. What future Buddha Maitreya? You still have 1.3 billion years to wait, so just squat obediently. Now it is impossible for you to be the master of the house.
This is the Tathagata's own ambition, and it is also the extravagant request of the entire Buddhism. They have repeated this ambition hundreds of millions of times. I am afraid that many guys who knew it was just a lie have already begun to regard it as true. It was like having a beautiful dream, because this dream was so beautiful, they ignored the reality and immersed themselves in this beautiful dream. And hope that this dream can continue.
However, they obviously forgot one thing, that is, dreams will wake up after all. No matter what kind of dream you are dreaming in what posture, it is impossible for this dream to last forever, and it will eventually retreat in front of reality. Either you wake up actively, or you are passively woken up by others. There is no other possibility.
Buddhism is now awakened, and the death of Tathagata is definitely the cruelest blow to them. Facing such a reality, many people are still in a trance stage. I don't know whether to be happy or sad, and I can't even distinguish dream from reality. However, not everyone is like this. In any case, there are still some wise people in Buddhism, some people who can see reality clearly and understand current affairs.
These people can clearly see the crisis facing Buddhism now. That's not something that can be solved by the extinction of the Tathagata. In fact, the extinction of the Tathagata just provided them with an opportunity, a chance to resolve the crisis. He has done all he can do, and all the rest can only be achieved by their continued efforts.
Whether Buddhism is dead or alive depends on them. And they are obviously aware of the heavy responsibility on their shoulders. So immediately, as the second in command of Buddhism, Avalokitesvara, the head of the four great bodhisattvas, has already stood up,
He bowed his head and said to Zhou Yi, who was in the supremacy of the heavenly court.
"God is above. Now that the Western Paradise of Ultimate Bliss is shattered, even the Tathagata Buddha has already passed away and Nirvana. My Buddhism has already been defeated, and I can no longer be an enemy of Your Majesty. Therefore, I only ask Your Majesty to show mercy and forgive me." I am a buddhist once."
"Forgive? If I'm not mistaken, you are Guanshiyin Bodhisattva."
Frowning, Zhou Yi looked at the fluttering white nun and showed a weird smile. Seeing his smile, Guan Yin subconsciously felt a little terrified.
After all, she witnessed the atrocities committed by the Heavenly Emperor just now, so it is impossible to say that she is not afraid at all. But thinking that the life and death of Buddhism is on her body, she really dare not have any thoughts of escaping. So immediately, she nodded slightly, and responded in a low voice.
"It's the poor nun."
"Then Guanyin Bodhisattva, are you begging me? Begging me to forgive you, forgive the entire Buddhist gate behind you?"
"That's right, Your Majesty the Emperor of Heaven. My Buddhist sect is innocent, please show mercy and forgive us this time. If Your Majesty is willing to show mercy outside the law, the Buddhist sect will be grateful. If there is any encouragement, we will not hesitate !"
Although I don't understand why Zhou Yi asked such a question, Avalokitesvara still maintained a sufficiently humble attitude, and almost made a low-key promise. The continuation of Buddhism is on her body, and she cannot be tolerated. However, facing such a reply from her, Zhou Yi waved his hand and replied indifferently.
"I don't have any interest in the promise of your Buddhism. Even whether it exists or not is just a matter of my thoughts, and it has no value to me. To be honest, I don't care whether your Buddhism continues to exist or is destroyed. Clean and tidy. There is only one question I care about now. That is, since you are begging me, is your current attitude the attitude you should have when begging someone?"
Silently opened his mouth, Guan Yin couldn't help but frowned, and then said in a confused tone.
"The poor nun doesn't understand what His Majesty means."
"I don't understand. It's very simple. Let me explain it to you. What I mean is very simple. Since you are begging me, you have to show an attitude of begging me. For example, kneel down for me. That's the attitude of asking for help, isn't it?"
"Kneel down?"
In an instant, Avalokitesvara's expression became surprised and pitiful. Her image is that of a compassionate and weak woman, and such an image can play some special roles in many cases.
For example, at this time. If you don't consider the background of both parties and all the reasons, just look at the current appearance. I'm afraid many people will think that this is a bully bullying men and women relying on his own power to insult a weak woman.
Of course, the reality is not. At this time, it is impossible for someone to jump out and be a flower protector. It is even more impossible for someone to intercede for Guanyin at the risk of offending the Emperor of Heaven. This made her look at Zhou Yi weakly, praying, hoping that the Emperor of Heaven would be lenient and let her go this time. However, since Zhou Yi had already spoken, how could he give up his plan because of such unnecessary pity and sympathy?
So, he just sneered and said to Guanyin Bodhisattva.
"Why, you don't want to? This is inconsistent with everything you promised before. If you have the so-called drive and don't hesitate if it's just like this, then I really find it hard to believe the sincerity of Buddhism's surrender. "
"The sincerity of Buddhism's surrender cannot be faked, Your Majesty. It's just that I don't understand why Your Majesty must make the poor nun kneel down?"
Seeing that praying could not solve the problem, Avalokitesvara could only restrain her weak-female look, and calmly refuted Zhou Yi. As for this rebuttal, Zhou Yi just laughed and said it directly.
"Reason, do you think I need a reason for doing this? If you really need a reason, then I can only tell you this. As Avalokitesvara, you are worshiped by so many people every day. Those people can do it for one thing or another. There is a reason to kneel to you, can't you kneel to me for yourself and the Buddhist sect behind you? They all want something, can't you be a little nobler than them, and you can't even kneel?"
Having said this, he narrowed his eyes, already showing the meaning of mocking.
"Of course, you can also choose not to kneel. But I can't guarantee you what the result will be. You can think that I want to humiliate you, or you can think that I have no intention of letting Buddhism go. No matter what you think or how you understand it. I only have one sentence, kneel! Only when you kneel can you have the right to talk to me about other things. If you don’t even want to kneel, then what I will do is up to you What, what are you going to do? Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva!"
"If this is His Majesty's request."
With a long sigh, the expression on Avalokitesvara's face has changed from a slightly frowning one to a calm one without joy or sorrow. She knew very well in her heart that she was indeed not qualified to bargain. Now that Zhou Yi has made such a condition, she has only two choices if she wants something from herself. Reject, or accept.
The price of rejection was too great, to the point where she simply could not accept it. So all she had to choose was to obey.
Kneeling down, you can win a life for Buddhism, which is obviously worth it. After thinking about this, Avalokitesvara bowed down in front of Zhou Yi immediately, and asked Zhou Yi expressionlessly.
"Your Majesty, is this enough?" ()
