Chapter 2277: Late Autumn in Golden City (Forty-One)
Schiller stood up from the chair. When he stood up, the alarm in Loki's heart, who was sitting beside the bed, began to sound louder and louder.
Schiller stood in front of Loki and looked down at her. Loki instinctively leaned back, so that she had to support herself with both hands on the bed to maintain her body stability.
"I'm glad you can clearly understand your relationship with your brother."
As soon as Schiller opened his mouth, Loki knew that every factor revealed in his body was to manipulate others. Psychologists would not say such biased words.
The more professional they are, the less they judge. They just analyze rationally and remind carefully. They neither talk about themselves nor evaluate others. Once they start to do this, it means that they begin to lose their professionalism and push everything in a more selfish direction.
Loki looked up and saw a pair of desolate gray eyes.
"I'm glad you agree with me."
"I don't think I expressed my approval."
"Then why do you say that?" Loki ignored the alarm in her heart and began to challenge boldly, "Do you want me to think your evaluation is important?"
"I have to remind you one thing." Schiller said: "What you are doing is equivalent to dropping an extremely unstable time bomb into my banquet, which may destroy everything at any time."
"It won't be easier to destroy everything than you."
Schiller narrowed his eyes.
Memories kept flashing in Loki's mind. He lay on the ground, and through the reflection of his blood flowing, he saw Schiller in a suit flash behind Talia and knock her down in an instant.
Talia was picked up by Schiller and put in the cell next to Loki. He said nothing, his leather shoes stepped over the stream of blood, and only glanced at Loki when he left.
Not long after, Loki felt that the breathing next door gradually became even, and the subtle sound of clothes rubbing against the floor tiles was transmitted to his ears through the bones.
Loki looked down at the wound he was pressing. It was still bleeding, but it was much better. So he sat up with some effort, and the other side obviously heard the action here.
"Are you okay?" A slightly hoarse female voice came.
"Don't talk." Loki's English has a distinct old Asgardian accent. English with a Norwegian accent sounds more primitive, with more forward stress than modern English, and sounds more straight and heavy.
The other side was silent for a while.
"Shiller?" Talia uttered another word.
Loki did not answer, but nodded slightly. He believed that the other side could simulate his actions in his mind through subtle sounds, and Talia could indeed, because it was too quiet here.
"Is your wound okay?" Talia asked again.
Loki sighed a little annoyed.
Soon he heard Talia approaching the wall on his side, "Listen, if you have wisdom and can communicate, you should know that I am just an ordinary human. If I want to leave here, I can only rely on your power."
"So tell me, what can I do to make your wound better?"
"Be quiet." Loki said.
They fell silent, but it didn't last long. Talia was obviously a little anxious. She said, "Are you going to wait here? Wait for him to deal with you?"
Loki remained silent and didn't answer. With every breath Talia took, she could feel the overly cold air flowing from her upper respiratory tract into her lungs, which almost paralyzed her heart.
"Stay away from me." Loki continued.
Talia didn't move, so Loki sighed angrily again.
Talia laughed, and lowered her voice and said, "Funny boy, where are you from?"
"...Asgard."
Talia raised her eyebrows slightly, and then said, "If I remember correctly, this is the heaven in Norse mythology."
"One of the nine kingdoms." The voice with obvious annoyance corrected, "There is no heaven, only the World Tree and Valhalla."
"What's your name?"
There was another silence, but Talia did not intend to give up. She said, "Unfortunately, I learned from a friend of mine that the owner of the manor who captured you has some weird hobbies."
"If he wanted you to die, he would have killed you long ago. If he wanted you to live, he should have stopped the bleeding from your wound, but he put you here, perhaps just to let you bleed dry and present a unique delicacy for his banquet."
The silent air was full of shock, and Talia almost smelled the taste of this emotion.
"He wants to eat me?"
"It's possible." Talia sighed and pretended to be sad. "Maybe I'm one of them. You know how much a banquet fanatic is willing to pay to shock everyone present with his delicious food."
The other party was silent again.
Talia found it very interesting because although she couldn't see the person opposite her, she could feel his emotions from the change in air temperature. She couldn't help asking, "What race are you? Nordic God?"
"There are no Norse gods." The other party's tone sounded even more angry. He said: "Aesir gods and frost giants."
"It sounds like you are the latter."
The other party continued to remain silent.
Talia felt that she now understood Pamela a little bit. In fact, although she didn't know much about Norse mythology, she was not so ignorant. Odin's stories were still relatively famous in the Western cultural circle. Even if she didn't study them carefully, she had at least heard about them.
Especially the setting of the world tree and the nine kingdoms, which is unique among all mythological systems. The interesting thing about it is that the gods are divided into many races, and they will fight each other for years. The grievances and entanglements are much more interesting than the crotch-hanging things on Mount Olympus.
So when Talia heard the name Asgard, she roughly deduced which race the other party belonged to. She said this simply to irritate him.
Now she knew where the smile in Pamela's voice came from when she leaned over to tell her that her angry expression was beautiful while she was pulling her with the vines.
Humans all have this kind of primitive malice. They get subtle pleasure when they abuse and manipulate others' spirits and emotions. Manipulating their own kind allows them to taste the power, and power is the deepest and heaviest drug addiction in the world.
Parents control their children, teachers control their students, and superiors control their subordinates. If there is a truth lasso in this world, then no one can say with a clear conscience that they have not obtained any pleasure from satisfying their desire for abuse in this process.
Talia licked her lips and said, "Don't be angry. I'm not very proficient in this. If you don't tell me your name, what should I call you?"
The air temperature dropped rapidly until Talia began to have difficulty breathing, and then slowly rose again, and even the ice mist floating on the ground began to dissipate.
"Loki." He spit out a name dully.
Talia raised her eyebrows in surprise. He was actually a well-known figure in mythology. It seemed that he was not the complete one in mythology, but just a young man.
Talia remembered that Loki was known as the god of lies and tricks, so the question was, how could he be caught here by Schiller?
Talia did not think that Loki could deceive Schiller, so the most likely situation was that he tried to deceive, but failed, and Schiller was angry with him and was planning to make him a dish.
But if Schiller saw through and exposed Loki's deception so easily, why was he so angry?
Or it is possible that Schiller was deceived in a certain link or part, and then woke up and caught Loki here.
Can he deceive Schiller?
Talia felt deeply curious.
Hearing the change in Talia's breathing frequency across from him, Loki exhaled, and slowly smiled in the shadow that Talia could not see.
"Do you want to anger me?" Schiller looked down at Loki, his expression sunk in the shadows, but he didn't look dark or angry, but rather strangely calm, making the atmosphere in the bedroom even heavier.
Loki curled his lips and said, "I heard that Schiller, who usually moves in this universe, has a bad temper."
"Emotional manipulation?"
"More because you have a grudge to avenge." Loki retracted his hands and folded them in front of him and said, "If I told you that I was going to throw a big bomb into this banquet knowing the importance of it, you would definitely be very angry."
"But you didn't expect that the person you met was not him."
"I don't really understand the difference between you two." Loki said frankly, "There is too little information available, and it is difficult for me to get words out of Natasha. I can only make plans based on the information available. You can't regard this as a loophole."
"I don't mean that."
Loki lowered his head and said, "I don't know how to tell you that I'm going to throw a big bomb into this banquet. I'm not going ... He lowered his head and thought, "Although what happens between me and Thor in another world will make Thor worried and draw his attention back, it is ultimately a trivial matter of love."
"But if I accidentally offend you, it will be a matter of the universe. Although it is another personality, it must be treated with caution. Even if Thor does not want to pay attention to me, Nick and others will ask him to do so."
"Obviously you don't just want to balance the scales."
"If I can do more, why not?" Loki raised her head and looked directly into Schiller's eyes, with a gleam in her eyes, shining like a gem in the dim bedroom, making her beautiful face more radiant.
"I rarely take the initiative to retaliate against anyone. To be precise, I almost never do." Schiller shook his head, then looked at Loki and asked curiously, "So what are you going to do now?"
"I want to make sure that this series of plans will not really bring serious consequences. So although I will say this to you, in fact, that stupid second-generation ancestor has been locked up in the space debris by me, and he will not really come here."
"After all, there are so many superheroes here. If he really breaks in without thinking, it will trigger another war, ordinary people will suffer heavy casualties, and buildings will be razed to the ground..."
Suddenly, Schiller's expression froze for a moment, and then his eyes refocused, looking into Luo Ji's eyes and said: "Let him come."
"...Ah?"
"Let him come, I will teach you how to get what you want."
