The Days of Being a Spiritual Mentor in Meiman

Chapter 20 Spider-Man and Daredevil

When Peter woke up again, he found himself in a cramped and dimly lit room. He saw a man in a red tights with his back turned, sorting out his equipment.

Peter was still in pain all over, but due to his extraordinary self-healing ability, most of his wounds had healed. The man turned around and said, "Boy, you're lucky. They just gave you some laxatives and anesthetics, nothing stronger, otherwise you wouldn't wake up now."

Spider-Man's mutant ability doesn't reach its peak right after it's acquired, but requires a series of training and stimulation. The later Spider-Man, whether in terms of strength, speed or self-healing ability, is dozens of times stronger than Peter now.

Although Peter has acquired mutant abilities for some time, he has to deal with ordinary people. Now his abilities are much stronger than ordinary people, so of course he won't think about how to improve his abilities.

Therefore, his body functions have not yet reached the level of being completely immune to drugs. The boss of the underground boxing ring gave him a lot of laxatives, combined with some anesthetics, and he got into trouble.

Peter said, "I remember you. You saved me, right?"

"You are lucky, kid, and it seems that you have some extraordinary abilities, otherwise you would be dead now."

Peter was also sweating. You can't expect a high school student to be very wary of others. The people in the place where Peter lives are simple and the neighbors are kind. Uncle Ben is the same. He has always been positive in education. Peter has never seen any evil people. He said with lingering fear: "I thought..."

Then he hammered the bed hard and said angrily: "I will go back and teach that boss a lesson! He dared to drug me!"

"You don't really expect that there will be fair referees there like in the World Championships, right?" Daredevil asked.

"Okay, I think your injury is almost healed, leave here quickly, kid, Hell's Kitchen is not a place for you."

"I'm not a kid." Peter said, "I'm Spider-Man."

"You're far from it." Daredevil said, and just as Peter was about to retort, a cane stopped beside his neck with the sound of wind.

The spider sense had no reaction, or it was not able to react at all.

Peter's cold sweat flowed down his forehead, and Daredevil's movements were so fast that his extraordinary vision could not catch it.

What Matt learned from the stick man was not some triangular cat kung fu. Although he was just an ordinary person, his various data had almost reached the limit that ordinary people could achieve. Coupled with the martial arts that he had practiced for thousands of years, he was even stronger than the little spider who had awakened the spider power.

Peter was just a young boy who had just started out. He swallowed and said, "Your move is so cool, man. I see you used this move to save me."

As he said this, Peter made a boxing gesture with his hands swinging left and right. Daredevil put away his crutches and said, "If you really want to be Spider-Man, there are still many things to learn. If you are interested in this, you can come here to find me."

Daredevil is not a good guy. He is a very decisive hero in the Marvel world. He saved Peter not only out of sympathy, of course, part of it was because of his memories of his father's death experience, and he didn't want anyone to die in the underground boxing ring like this again.

But in another part, he also planned to find an assistant for himself. The assassination and injury that day made him realize that he couldn't be split in half by himself. He couldn't avoid the pursuit of his enemies while upholding justice, but if he had an assistant, things would be much easier.

Spider-Man was in line with his expectations. He was very capable and talented, but he was very immature and didn't know anything.

In this way, Peter began to come to Daredevil every now and then. He also realized that although he was strong, his skills were really poor and he had too little experience in dealing with people. Otherwise, why would he go to the underground to make money? With such martial arts, he could easily get as much money as he wanted.

Out of the desire to improve his life with his own abilities and a young man's envy of Daredevil's cool martial arts, Peter soon became more and more familiar with Daredevil and learned what he was doing.

Although Peter admired him very much, he felt that it was really unnecessary. How much could he do alone? He could not kill all the criminals in Hell's Kitchen alone. With such perseverance and willpower, if he did something else, he would have started a family and lived a happy life.

But soon, as Spider-Man and Daredevil became more and more familiar with each other, he even stayed at Daredevil's residence for several nights during the holidays. He saw Daredevil bandaging his wounds alone countless times, and his attitude began to waver more and more.

Daredevil is indeed just an ordinary person. He does not have any super self-healing abilities. Unfortunately, he is more sensitive to pain than ordinary people. Therefore, every time he gets injured and bandages his wounds alone in the base, Peter can see that he is about to faint from the pain, but the next day, he still goes out to fight criminals as usual.

Although Hell's Kitchen is not as dangerous as Gotham, the chances of getting hurt are too high if you want to uphold justice here. Sometimes you get hit by stray bullets during gangster fire, sometimes you jump from a few floors to avoid being chased, and sometimes you get hit in close combat, leaving a large bruise. Every time Spider-Man sees these wounds, he has a complex emotion.

He already regards Matt as a friend in his heart, and he certainly doesn't want his friend to get hurt, but how can he dissuade Daredevil?

Dissuade him from upholding justice? From fighting criminals? But Peter is smart, he understands that even these painful wounds can't dissuade Matt, how can he stop him with a few words?

Finally one day, Matt was shot in the calf by the ninja who was chasing him again, and Peter helped him take out the bullet. Peter had never seen such a wound before, and the pungent smell of blood made his brain dizzy, and the torn muscles were even deep enough to see the bones, and Peter's uncomfortable hands were shaking.

He was not the Spider-Man who later went through the iron and blood training and became a real hero. Any high school student who saw this scene would not be much better than him.

While helping him remove the bullet under Matt's guidance, he made a dry sound from his throat and said, "Why do you do this? Is it really worth it?"

"I thought you would ask me earlier."

Daredevil leaned against the wall, he changed his posture, because of the pain, his voice was a little trembling, he said: "It can be seen that although your family situation is very ordinary, you should have an elder who loves you, a relatively happy family, and have lived a very stable life since childhood..."

"You may not be satisfied with school, but most of the time you are still Safe, I can see that you complain about the lack of money, but you know what? You are really lucky enough..."

In the dim hut, Daredevil muttered intermittently like a dream: "Actually, I am also very lucky. I was born in Hell's Kitchen, but my father is not a gambler or drug addict. He tried his best to protect me and gave me the opportunity to leave this hell and go to school..."

"He is a great father. In order to support me and let me leave here, he chose to become a black boxer."

"Yes, your fate should have been the same as his, He refused to play a fake match when I went to watch his match, so he was killed by the boxing ring owners. "

Peter's psychological and physical sadness made him almost unconscious that he was crying. Daredevil was already a little unconscious due to the pain, but he continued to chant:

"You and I are very lucky, but some people are very unfortunate. When their mothers were pregnant with them, they either drank or took drugs. They were born with drug addiction. In order to survive, they either worked for gangs or did some more dangerous and inhumane jobs. Because life was too painful, they continued to indulge in drugs and alcohol, and their children were repeating their lives..."

"...This is Hell's Kitchen."

"Yeah...I am lucky to have the opportunity to leave here, receive higher education, and practice martial arts. Since I am luckier than them, I have gained more than them and have greater abilities..."

"...Then what reason do I have not to do these things?"

Daredevil often calls Hell's Kitchen "this damn place", and Peter has heard them scold those people countless times, cursing everyone in this damn place to go to hell quickly.

But for the first time, he knew that Daredevil really wanted to save this place. He was really determined to pull Hell's Kitchen out of hell.

Peter really couldn't imagine that he was already in this environment, how could he still think about saving such a place? This was simply impossible.

But Daredevil still had to do it.

Peter was silent. When he took out the bullet with his hand, Daredevil screamed like he was dying, and soon, he fainted with a pale face.

Peter stood in the middle of the room, looking at this somewhat shabby room, where even anesthetics and bandages could not be found. Matt's wound could only be wrapped with strips of cloth.

Peter felt a kind of anger, which was more fierce and deep than when he complained about having no money. He felt that Matt should not be in this situation now. He was obviously firm, persistent and perseverant.

And he was a good man, and good people should be rewarded.

Why do the owners and shareholders of those underground boxing rings live so well, and even the drunkards who died of drunkenness in their seats can have a good night's sleep?

But a good man like Daredevil could only endure great pain and fall asleep painfully in this dim and narrow room.

With Peter's experience, he still couldn't figure out these questions, and these emotions were stirring in his chest.

He left Daredevil's station and ran in Hell's Kitchen late at night.

Using his spider power, he leaped on the rooftops and shuttled through the night sky of New York. The neon lights of the casinos and nightclubs in the distance were on all night, and in contrast, these alleys immersed in the dark were as dark as if there would never be dawn.
