Chapter 1657: No Time to Die (20)
Chapter 1630 No Time to Die (Twenty)
The physical examination report shows that Peter Parker is in good health. The only problem is that his super strength is totally inconsistent with his performance.
Batman has privately conducted secret physical examinations on many people with super powers, such as Superman. In fact, most of the instruments used for physical examinations on humans cannot show Superman's physical condition. Even the instruments specially customized by Batman will "beep beep beep" when pressed on Superman, which is beyond the display range, or explode on the spot.
But the magical thing about Spider-Man's physical data is that whether it is bone strength, muscle density or cell activity, they are completely within the range of normal people, or at the healthiest average, without any lack.
But according to this data performance, Spider-Man cannot have such endurance and strength, which means that Spider-Man's superpowers do not come from his specialized body structure, but another non-physical mutation.
"You have found the problem, right?" Peter tilted his head slightly, raised his hands to both sides of his body, and shrugged his shoulders and said, "The principle of my spider mutation is still a mystery. Spider-Man from other universes told me that it may come from the spider totem, but now I have changed to another universe, and the ability is still there, which means that the mutation still occurred in my body."
"But no matter where it comes from, it can still be used." Peter sat casually on the chair next to him, his expression and posture seemed very relaxed.
Batman frowned and turned his mouth down, obviously disagreeing with Spider-Man's opinion. If it were in the past, other Robins would have guessed what he was thinking when they saw his expression.
Then they would further explain their views and try to convince Batman, or let Batman convince themselves as usual.
But Spider-Man didn't stay on this topic for even a second. He sat on the chair, crossed his arms between his legs, stared at Batman with wide eyes and said, "The inspection is over. Where are we going to go next? There must be a lot of crimes in this city that need to be fought, right?"
"Your uniform..."
Peter finally realized that the reason Batman mentioned the uniform was not to ask him to take off his mask. He looked down at his uniform, tugged at the fabric of his uniform on his chest, and looked up at Batman with some confusion and said, "What's wrong with my uniform?"
"I think you need a new one."
"But this is new. Mr. Stark made it last week. I haven't even worn it for three days."
"Whose assistant are you?"
"Of course it's yours now, but this is really new clothes. It's not broken or old at all."
"But it's not suitable for my assistant."
"But it's too wasteful."
"I'm rich too."
Peter's eyes widened. He quickly caught up with Batman, then stretched out his arms to block him and said, "It has nothing to do with whether we have money or not. We can't waste things like this. We buy or make new things to use them up. If it is broken or worn, we should repair it as much as possible. If it can't be repaired, we can replace it with a new one. Isn't this common sense?"
"But it doesn't fit..."
"It fits me very well, doesn't hinder my movements at all, and has many useful functions."
"But the situations you will encounter in this city may be different from before, so you need equipment that suits the situation."
"Nothing is different." Peter stared at Batman without blinking and said, "Didn't I defeat a bank robber wearing this uniform before? This shows that it is fully capable of fighting criminals. Why do you always want me to change it?"
Batman also asked himself this question in his heart.
Looking at Batman's thoughtful look, Peter suddenly said, "Oh, I see. This suit doesn't suit your taste, right? You don't like the red and blue color combination?"
Batman felt that he was hit.
Peter complained, "Then just say it. If you had said you thought it was ugly earlier, I would have changed it, wouldn't I?"
"You don't like black. What would you do if I gave you a black uniform?"
"Just wear it." Peter shrugged and said, "You've already made it. It's a waste if I don't wear it. Besides, I'm your assistant. If I were to walk around in front of you in a color you don't like, you would probably feel annoyed and might not be able to concentrate on dealing with the enemy. If you think you'd feel better if I wore black, there's nothing you can't compromise on."
Batman stared at Peter for a long time before saying, "You can wear red and blue, but it's best not to print any patterns other than bats on your body."
"Why is that?" Peter caught up with Batman, who was walking forward, and asked persistently, "Is it because many people in this city have arachnophobia? Or do you just like bats and want everyone's clothes to have bats printed on them?"
"Because darkness may permeate every special symbol." Batman said in a low and hoarse tone: "Make them evil and crazy, they will penetrate your skin and pollute your heart."
Peter had to speed up and run in front of Batman, turned around and walked backwards, looking into Batman's eyes and said: "Brother, can you explain it clearly? Well, let me guess, maybe there is something wrong with the rain in this city, it will make my uniform mutate and then go crazy?"
Batman stopped, he slowly narrowed his eyes, revealing his signature suspicious expression, and then he looked at Batman with a suspicious look Peter, Peter shrugged again and said, "It's not hard to guess. Since I came to this city, my spider sense has been sounding a very weak alarm, but I didn't find any danger."
"Since I defeated the bank robber, I found that this alarm would become weaker indoors, and it almost disappeared completely when I came to your base. So the only thing that continued outdoors was the rain. Am I right?"
"Not entirely right." Batman did not praise, but just affirmed in Batman's way, without expecting the other party to understand, and usually, the other party did not understand and asked what he was wrong.
But Peter smiled brightly and said, "That means part of it is right. My intuition is not bad, right?"
Batman did not say anything, walked forward silently, and then Peter kept chasing behind him to try to convince him.
"If you are worried that my uniform will mutate, or that it will be polluted by rain, then I can wear casual clothes instead of uniform. Just prepare a mask for me to cover my face."
"You will be polluted too."
"I won't."
Batman paused. He hadn't heard such a firm tone in many years. Even Superman, after getting to know Batman in depth, would not refute him so firmly.
Peter still looked at Batman with that innocent look and said, "I won't be polluted. I'm a superhero."
Batman's Adam's apple moved violently, but he didn't even know what he was excited about. Then he took a deep breath and said.
"You can't go out without equipment, this is the rule."
And to Batman's surprise, Peter didn't refute it, just nodded and said, "Okay, you are the boss, you have the final say."
Batman took Peter to the equipment manufacturing workshop, which is located on the bottom floor of the Batcave. It is a huge space that connects the laboratory manufacturing room, the tool machine room and the product warehouse. There are a variety of equipment inside, some of which look like they can destroy the star system.
As soon as he entered the laboratory, Peter immediately became quiet. He walked quickly to the laboratory table and moved a chair, then sat down by the door of the laboratory and watched Batman walk in.
Batman stopped halfway, he looked back at Peter and said, "Aren't you coming in?"
"I'll wait for you here."
"You have scientific research ability."
"Yes, I do."
"Then you don't..."
Batman couldn't continue speaking halfway. He didn't need help, nor did he need people to watch him, and he didn't need a chatterbox to hang around in front of him. So why should he care whether Peter went into the laboratory with him?
But he just felt that this didn't fit his assumptions about Peter. Shouldn't Spider-Man happily follow him into the lab and fully demonstrate his scientific talent?
"Mr. Stark said that his lab is the soil where his inspiration sprouts, and this soil doesn't need the weeds that grow in my head. Of course, I know he's joking, and he says that to everyone, but I know he doesn't like people disturbing him when he's doing experiments, so I won't go in."
Batman's lips moved, but he still said, "It's up to you."
About half an hour later, Batman brought a uniform. Ninety percent of the fabric of the uniform was non-reflective black, but there were decorative long and thin stripes on the collar, arms and waist, with a slight red and blue interweaving reflection.
"Wow." Peter exclaimed, took the uniform from Batman, unfolded it and put it on himself, then smiled and said to Batman: "I thought about getting myself a pure black uniform before, but I was worried that people would misunderstand me as a robber. Now I finally have a chance to try it. It must be very handsome. I'll change it."
After Peter went into the room to change clothes, Batman was still savoring the words he just said. Soon Peter changed his clothes and came out, just like he had grown new limbs, constantly making various movements to adapt to the new uniform.
The new uniform still retains the spider pattern, but the original very obvious pattern has become a dark pattern that is almost invisible to the naked eye. The position is also on the chest, and the decorative lines on the original uniform have become less obvious.
But this makes Spider-Man show an alternative temperament. Unlike Batman's deep and serious temperament when wearing black, Spider-Man wears this carbon black with a handsome and neat sense of future technology.
"Do I look a bit like an evil robot?" Spider-Man turned around to look at his new uniform. Batman was about to speak, but Spider-Man immediately added: "It's not that it doesn't look good, but I think it doesn't fit the image of my good neighbor. Wouldn't a superhero with this image really be mistaken for a criminal? People won't shoot me, right?"
"If you don't dress like this, they will shoot you too."
"Huh?"
Batman sighed slightly in his heart, then turned and walked out the door and said: "Come with me, we only have one last step left."
"What is that?"
"Understanding Gotham."
