Chapter 10 Differences
Finn is almost exhausted!
His ears are buzzing, and he can clearly hear the heartbeat in his chest that is so intense that it is about to explode. Venus is flashing in front of his eyes, and snowflakes appear densely above his vision.
His hands and feet are almost out of control. Every time his legs run forward, his bones seem to fall apart.
One of the daily physical training is long-distance running. The task of ordinary students is to run five laps around the field, while Kaxiu and Finn are required to run ten laps. The difficulty is not simply doubled. The further you go, the less physical strength you have, and the more difficult it is to run.
It is an exercise that tests the perseverance of students.
"Hoo, hoo, hoo..." Finn felt that his throat was about to smoke, and a burning sensation rushed from his nostrils and trachea to his lungs.
"Tatt, tatt, tatt, tatt..." Footsteps came from the left.
A thin figure appeared in Finn's peripheral vision, and Kaxiu, who was also being punished in the other formation, ran at a constant speed. Although he also looked sweaty, his pace seemed to be much easier than Finn's, and his speed was visibly faster.
At first, Finn forced himself to speed up when he ran parallel to Kashu, trying to make himself less embarrassed. Later, he was really out of energy, so he just kept running with his head down.
When Finn had just finished the seventh lap and came to the eighth lap. Kashu on the left field had already walked out of the white line track and came to the shade of the tree, pounding his legs while leaning against the tree trunk.
His sight swept over here from time to time.
"He finished running?!" Finn had just raised this doubtful thought, and the fatigue that surged up from his limbs dispelled the thought. Wet hot sweat squeezed out of his pores, and the fine sweat on his forehead slid along his eyelids and nose wings all the way to his chin.
"The ninth lap... I really can't run anymore..."
On the playground, Finn put down his hands. His steps trembled as he walked, his chest rose and fell violently, and he was panting like a cow.
"Go back!!! Keep running! There are two more laps!"
A tall figure came from the shade of the tree next to him. He was nearly 1.9 meters tall, had a crew cut, and a very serious face.
Instructor Dandong was a serious person. He was the most serious of the five main instructors and only followed the rules.
The influence of Finn molesting the female students while drunk was very bad. Although the instructor pleaded for mercy, the person in charge of the youth training camp could not punish them without any punishment. So after Finn recovered, he was sent directly to Instructor Dandong. The double training punishment time was ten days, and the punishment regulations must be strictly followed during this period.
In other words, it was impossible for Instructor Dandong to leave food for Kashu like Instructor Lisha did.
"Now, go back!" Instructor Dandong raised his muscular arms and pointed at the track with a cold and expressionless face.
"Instructor, I can't run anymore... I... cough cough cough..."
Finn said breathlessly, he only felt bitter in his mouth, and his mouth and throat were so dry that he wanted to cough.
"I'll say it again! Now, get back here!"
Finn looked up, and he was completely covered by the tall shadow of the instructor Dandong, and there were students pointing and talking under the tree next to him.
"I'll only count to three. I don't have a good temper. Don't let me teach you how to run in person!" Instructor Dandong lowered his head slightly.
"Three..."
"Yes!" Finn was scared and ran back immediately.
Not far away, there seemed to be a faint laugh under the shade of the tree.
Finn gritted his teeth and took another step.
After a whole morning of physical training, Finn was almost exhausted. If it weren't for his early development, his body was bigger and stronger than other peers, and he could still finish it by forcing himself, he would have cried for his parents long ago.
It was lunch time, and all five groups of students on the playground left to eat in the cafeteria. Only Kaxiu and Finn were still exercising, and the assistants of the two groups were supervising them.
"Oh, bad luck. The lunch break time will be reduced. I want to sleep a little longer at noon." The assistant who supervised Finn stood at the dividing line with his hands on his waist, moving his view as he spoke.
"It's okay. I'm not very sleepy." The assistant who supervised Kashu on the other side crossed his arms and talked in a bored manner.
"Don't be lazy! Finn!"
The assistant of Group 3 suddenly turned around and shouted.
The weather was gloomy, but the temperature today was still cool.
The two assistants talked for more than an hour, and the time passed quickly while supervising and chatting.
"Report, the last set of squats has been completed." Kashu ran all the way and stepped in front of the assistant of Group 4 and said.
"Okay, it was completed very quickly today, just over an hour, half an hour earlier than usual." The assistant of Group 4 glanced at the pocket watch left by Instructor Lisha, and then patted Kashu on the shoulder.
"Not bad, not bad, let's go, let's go eat."
After he finished speaking, he turned around and said, "Let's go."
"Yeah." The assistant of Group 3 nodded slightly. Watching the two people leaving the playground, he suddenly turned his head to look at Finn.
"Hurry up! There are still three sets of squats, two sets of push-ups, and one set of pull-ups! You are so slow, are you going to leave the training for tomorrow?! We still have to practice basic fighting skills in the afternoon!!"
"Yes." Finn gritted his teeth and continued to exercise.
It was afternoon, and everyone was practicing basic fighting skills. Of course, the most tired ones were Kaxiu and Finn.
But there was a slight difference. One was unwilling and reluctant. The other practiced quite actively, even a little bit willing? The sun gradually moved in the clouds.
Unfortunately, it rained.
Kaxiu stretched out his hand to catch a few drops of rain. He cursed the weather in his heart, and then raised his arms and hammered the wooden stake hard.
"Fighting action (beginner): 9.2%"
"Exercise rack (stage 1): 8.7%"
I originally wanted to practice fighting actions to 10% today, but I am afraid that the training efficiency will be greatly reduced after this rain.
"Why?"
"What do you think this is? This is a punishment! Levi over there can do it, so what reason do you have to hide from the rain and not train?"
Not far away, there was a faint sound of quarreling.
Kaxiu squinted his eyes slightly and looked over. The students on the playground had already evacuated. The fine rain fell from the gray sky, getting heavier and heavier, gradually wetting the ground.
In Group 3, Finn was arguing with Instructor Danton.
Or rather, Finn was being scolded unilaterally.
Since they were a little far away, Kaxiu couldn't hear it very clearly. Only sometimes he could vaguely hear his own name.
The sky was getting darker and darker, and the dark clouds were pressing down layer by layer, like a large black wave piled up together.
The rain was getting heavier and heavier.
Under the eaves of the building next to the playground, Kaxiu and Finn were 50 or 60 meters apart, each slapping the wooden stakes in front of them.
The raindrops hit the ground, and the water splashed on their trouser legs from time to time. This is where Kaxiu rode to fight Finn that night.
Revisiting the old place, Finn's expression was a little unnatural, and his eyes glanced at Kaxiu from time to time. I don't know what he was thinking.
Dinner time has passed for about an hour and a half.
Kaxiu retracted his fists, asked the Dandong instructor who was supervising next to him to end the meeting, and then strode towards the dormitory in the rain.
As for Finn, it will probably take another one or two hours...
