Warhammer: In the Name of Ashes

Chapter 398 Composition of the Honor Guard

Above the orbit with an inclination angle of 15° of the equator of Plesdia, the Relentless Crusade is flying synchronously with Plesdia on the ground with a mountain range raised by the collision of geological plates as the sub-star point.

Because the fleet did not get permission from the ground, it had to bypass the starport above the equator and temporarily stay in an inclined orbit away from the equator.

The material supply process with the Inquisition transport fleet had to adopt an inefficient on-orbit parallel method, using small airships for multiple transportations.

Calvin stood in front of the porthole and watched the airships going back and forth between the fleets for a long time, as if he had not yet broken away from the communication with the Son of Guilliman.

From the perspective of the topmost layer of the battleship, these small vehicles carrying the fleet's supplies were like broken chains.

"Has the Ultramarines always been like this?" Calvin did not look back, but the leader of the Honor Guard knew who he was asking.

But before Golden answered, Calvin muttered to himself:

"Or, is it our identity that makes them unwilling to have more contact?"

"Uh..." Golden suddenly felt that with his own reputation, the latter possibility was not impossible.

"Or, is there something inconvenient to show here?"

Calvin turned his head and looked at Golden, and the latter had already empathized with the little secrets buried under Titan.

"But they shouldn't even be allowed to use the starport, right?" Calvin's tone rose a little, and there was already a look of doubt in his eyes.

"It shouldn't be." Golden looked at Calvin and explained:

"Even if there is, it shouldn't be such a remote place far away from the control of the Thirteenth Legion."

"That means they have problems themselves, otherwise they wouldn't be so vigilant against us."

"It's possible, but we have no reason to intervene."

Under the deduction of the Primarch, Golden also began to feel that the rejection of the Ultramarines had indeed exceeded the normal range.

But in the absence of any active request, it is obviously extremely risky to actively intervene in the base of an Astartes regiment.

Especially in this special place of the Extreme Star Region, even Golden was unwilling to confront the most powerful local forces head-on.

"Star map!" Calvin ordered in a low voice.

The servo skull that had been floating behind him came to him and projected the galaxy and the nearby astronomical environment.

"Not this! Switch to the navigation map." Calvin glanced at the galaxy composition map of Presdia and gave additional orders to the servo skull.

"Holy Blood" responded to his request and switched the content of the holographic projection to a subspace route composed of dense lines.

Countless military routes, general routes and commercial routes were marked in red, blue and green between the two major star regions. Following the location of the fleet in the navigation star map, Calvin first moved his hand to their destination - the Janmorro sector, and then moved from Presdia to Terra.

Golden followed the finger of the Primarch and discovered his intention.

"This is the only passage from Janmorro to Terra. If the direction of Fenris is blocked, then... Presdia will be the only springboard to return to Terra."

"Have you studied fleet command?" Calvin was a little surprised. Although the Templars theoretically have the experience of rotating in various orders, in fact, few people can go through all the procedures.

Most Templars will invest their time and energy in the martial arts and weapons required for close combat. Armored command is considered a high-level tactic in the eyes of these warriors, and warship command, a subject that takes a hundred years, is rarely available in the Templars' choice range.

"He came out of the Blade of Victory. This is his job skill. Maldak (Grand Master of the Blade of Victory) scolded him a lot at the beginning. He didn't want to be a good fleet admiral. I don't know what went wrong with him. He came to make do with us, a group of maruns."

Tariq explained to Calvin in a muffled voice, and then, as expected, he was punched hard by Golden.

"Huh?" Calvin was really a little surprised.

He could sense that Golden was "deliberately" rude in daily communication, but he didn't think of it in the direction of the Blade of Victory.

You know, although the commander of the fleet has no specific faction requirements for psychic talents, the tactics, strategic vision and operational management of the entire warship they need are actually more rare traits in the Grey Knights.

"Didn't you see? Still a cultured person?" Calvin laughed and teased, then looked at Tariq on the other side.

This guy is different from Golden. His rudeness and recklessness are really not pretended.

Calvin has seen it more than once in battle. When the battle entered a white-hot stage, the comrades of the Honor Guard dragged the red-eyed bull back.

"What about you, Tariq? Which unit were you from before you entered the Victory Hall?"

"You... guess?" Tariq didn't answer directly, but hesitated slightly.

Calvin had the urge to rub his eyes. If he was not mistaken, the bull in front of him was actually a little shy?

Emperor! Is this guy possessed?

"Let me tell you! Let me tell you!" The retribution came so quickly that before Tariq could come to his senses, Golden had revealed his true colors to Calvin.

"You wouldn't believe this guy's first talent, it's prophecy!

And he only has one talent for prophecy, which is to predict whether he will die."

"Ah?" Calvin opened his eyes wide, somewhat unable to understand.

"So this is your confidence in joining the Templars? Is your stuff accurate?" Calvin was somewhat amused, what kind of psychic talent is this!

"Not bad!" Tariq chuckled and patted his chest proudly.

"He didn't die, but sometimes he was injured a little more seriously."

"Yes, he is the one who has replaced the second heart five times in a row and keeps the record of heart and other organ transplants in the regiment." Golden added beside him.

Good guy! Is this the Apothecary Order? And if he heard it right, this guy is a rare "original prophecy system"?

He looked at Tariq again, a 2.7-meter-tall bull, and still couldn't associate him with the high-end term "Prophet Brotherhood".

But if it is true as Golden said, his psychic talent has such strange limitations, then there is nothing wrong with his choice.

"So you chose the 'Champion's Road'?" Calvin asked.

"Of course!" Tariq answered with a little pride, but he was ruthlessly exposed by Golden before he was handsome for more than 3 seconds:

"How could he choose it? He just couldn't make it!

He was not afraid of death and rushed forward in the mission, almost bringing down the entire front several times.

He changed partners one after another, and was finally boycotted by all the companies except the 1st, 2nd, and 5th companies, so he couldn't start practicing the road to championship!"

Good guy! How disrespectful!

Calvin gave Tariq a thumbs up, and the latter glared at Golden's repeated betrayal and began to fight back:

"How are you better than me? A fleet commander of the Blade of Victory, whose first psychic talent is the strong energy system, just tell me how many sets of wetware you burned in your first year in the company, how your original mentor Maldak recruited you, and how he "sent you out of the country"? "

Damn! Amazing!

Both of these guys have this kind of background? Calvin suddenly had an ominous premonition and hurried to ask.

As expected, from the mouths of these two top-notch people, he knew how talented his Honor Guard was.

What about the tactical master who only knew one tactic, the second-hand psyker found by the Assassin's Court, the technical sergeant who had a fanatical belief in plasma technology, and the pharmacist who was better at using bolt guns than medical equipment...

So his Honor Guard was full of such talented people? It was a pity that he was moved by the "generosity" of the Supreme Grand Master at the beginning!

Calvin couldn't help but recall how the Supreme Grand Master and the members of the Grand Master Council watched him leave with tears of expectation and hope when the Honor Guard was first established.

He is still young!

Now think about it, how can this be the expectation for him and the Honor Guard?

This is clearly the tears of relief for the thorns that have accumulated in the Chapter for hundreds of years, which are packed and thrown away in batches at one time!

Walden, you have no heart! I am so angry! When will the Primarch stand up!

Update, the status is not very good, in all senses.
