Warhammer: In the Name of Ashes

Chapter 397: Prisdia

The function of this chain made Calvin feel helpless.

The key point of the chain named "Helios's Drawstring" lies in the "drawstring", and if Calvin understood correctly, the "drawstring" can only be used when there is a living creature as the traction power of the vehicle.

This "drawstring" is considerate, and the target has also changed from biological to mechanical devices, and there are two specific functions in terms of use:

First, control. "Helios's Drawstring" can crack the operating authority of most mechanical creations known to Calvin, as long as it can move and belongs to the ranks of vehicles.

Second, whipping. "Helios" can use supernatural energy to bypass the defense layer and directly activate, repair, overload, and destroy the power core of the mechanical device.

Apart from these two functions, Calvin can only treat it as a normal chain.

Like the pocket watch that currently has only basic functions, it is in the stage of being useful but not very useful.

Calvin did not devote too much energy to them, because after the third day of passing the Crucible, the fleet was close to the first supply point in the planned Ultramarine - Presdia.

This is a planet marked as a dead world by the Empire. The lead-gray weathered rocks all over the planet appear lifeless. The huge storm caused by the abnormal gravity of the planet is visible to the naked eye in space and never dissipates all year round.

Death and desolation are the only impressions that this planet brings to all outsiders.

It has no agriculture of its own, which is not surprising to Calvin.

In fact, it does not even have its own industry or mining system. All the materials of this planet come from the outside world.

The reason why the Empire can do this at any cost is that there is an Astartes company stationed on this planet:

An Astartes regiment founded in the "Second Founding Event" in 33 millennia - the Sons of Guilliman.

Of course, it is impossible to provide supplies for a fleet here, but the Inquisition has been prepared for it.

In fact, the fleet where Calvin is located saw the material transport fleets prepared for them as soon as it jumped out of the warp.

But what surprised him was that these fleets did not dock at the starport of Plesdia as planned to wait for the handover of their supplies.

Instead, they floated alone outside the orbit of Plesdia, under the surveillance of the entire planetary defense system.

After the fleet appeared at the galaxy jump point, it immediately initiated a contact application to the surrounding area. In the context of Plesdia's delay in responding, Calvin took the lead in contacting the fleet that transported supplies.

"You didn't apply to the starport for docking? Or do you not have the imperial documents that can convince the owner here?"

Calvin did not consider other reasons at the first time, but attributed the problem to the possible omissions of the Inquisition.

But the Imperial colonel in charge of commanding this transport fleet obviously had another explanation. According to his narration, the owner's style of doing things here was far beyond Calvin's traditional impression of the Ultramarines.

They didn't seem to care about the Inquisition and Terra, even though the charter captains had already produced all the legal procedures and the transfer orders of the Inquisition.

But the Sons of Guilliman stationed here still did not allow them to dock and refused to give any explanation for this.

Calvin did not believe all of the Charter Captain's words, but later he directly contacted Presdia, which confirmed the latter's statement.

"We have not received any orders from Macragge, so I'm sorry that we can't provide you with services here."

The Astartes warrior in the video signal was tall, and the blue and white Mark IV power armor was decorated intricately and gorgeously.

The other party did not even take off his helmet when communicating with Tiberus, who was also an Astartes.

Even though Tiberus had taken out all the authorizations from the Administrative Council and the Eye of the Empire, the Sons of Guilliman still refused the former's request to borrow the starport.

"Should we call Macragge?" Tiberus asked Calvin, who had not shown up, after cutting off the communication with Presdia.

"No need, our time is too tight. Let's meet up with the transport fleet first, and then use frigates and airships for transportation."

Calvin shook his head and responded to Fleet Admiral Tiberus.

He really didn't have time to get entangled here at the moment, but the reason why he gave up continuing to communicate was not time, but his concern for the Ultramarines, the biggest local snake.

I have heard of the reputation of the Ultramar 500 Worlds for a long time, and I have also heard that the Ultramar star field, known as the country within the country, has its own special national conditions.

But if you don't really experience it, you have no right to speak.

It was only after experiencing this that Galvin truly realized how fragile the authority of Terra was in the Far Eastern territory of the Empire.

"Ultramarines... Son of Guilliman." Galvin looked at the bright starlight belonging to the Ultramar 500 Worlds in the distant starry sky, and silently chanted in his heart.

In the center of the world group of the Empire that is famous for its wealth, strength, civilization and stability, Robert Guilliman, the thirteenth son of the Emperor, who is known for his great talent and strategy, is sleeping in the Glory Sanctuary of Macragge.

He didn't know whether this arrogance was a special case of the Son of Guilliman, or the overall performance of the entire Ultramarines Chapter system.

Galvin was destined to go there.

Whether it was due to his agreement with Captain Stuart, the Ultramarines stationed on Ophelia 7, or as the leader of the Inquisition and the founder of the newly born Eye of the Empire.

He needed to try to change the difficult situation of the Empire and make a difference in the cause of the entire human empire, and to achieve basic mutual understanding and consensus with this group born from the Codex Astartes:

a group that theoretically abides by the provisions of the Codex and is impeccable, but is actually the largest local military group in the Empire.

"A loyal and straightforward border guard? Or a local warlord group that is deeply rooted and difficult to get rid of?"

The Primarch squinted his eyes and looked in the direction of Presdia. His burly body sat on the throne at the highest point of the bridge, stroking the hilt of the Imperial Truth in his hand, and he didn't say another word for a long time.

The entire bridge seemed to feel the influence of the Primarch's mood, and the dullness of low pressure spread silently on the entire command deck.

The Honor Guards stood quietly behind him, watching him closely;

Fleet Admiral Tibers stood alone in front of the holographic projection platform, not saying a word for a long time;

Chief Engineer, Bishop Klein, was absorbed in the servo mobilization in front of her, as if the whole world had nothing to do with her;

The staff on the staff deck and the liaison deck also unconsciously moved lightly when they had to go to the command deck, unwilling to make any unexpected noises;

And the sons of Calvin in the training hall seemed to feel the same way, and felt the anger that the Gene Father was accumulating.

They stopped from their respective training and hibernation, instinctively tightened their weapons and roared silently...

"Heh..." Calvin laughed at himself in a low voice, it was really not a good thing to be in a high position for a long time.

The clanging sound of the sword came from the throne, and the Primarch said "Go back and rest" the moment Tibers turned around, and then strode away from the command deck with the "Imperial Truth" in his hand.

After all, he decided to observe it again, and did not make a hasty evaluation and judgment of the Ultramarines.

But no matter what, the current experience made Calvin realize the difference between this place and other strategic directions of the empire on the first day of arriving in the Extreme Star Region.
