Warhammer: In the Name of the Emperor

Chapter 389: Expedition Road: Dangerous Forgiveness

The transparent curved glass is located between the steel. The green culture medium emits a faint fluorescence. The dim light is so bright in the dim environment. Bubbles rise in the green fluorescent liquid.

The bubbles continue to rise, and finally burst in the water with a miserable scream. A pair of pale hands touch the glass. The palms are illuminated by the green fluorescence, showing a morbid color, just like everything here.

This city has long been in madness. The deepest darkness and the craziest deeds exist here at the same time. It is called Gomor, a dark city with infinite possibilities and infinite dangers.

And here, in the midst of terror and madness, there is a place that even the most arrogant and stupid people dare not step into, or even talk about. That underground world in the deepest shadow of the entire dark city belongs to the king of the city, the dark residence of its master.

This is his domain, his shadow and fear incarnation, and the fluorescent green in the culture tube also illuminates the face of the master, he is the dark lord of Gomo, he is, Victor.

Victor's pale palm rested on the glass jar, he looked at the bubbles rising in the water, and behind him, a man walked out of the edge of the dark underground world, he stood at the edge of the green light, and nodded to Vito.

"He's here, Lord." His voice was cold and sharp, like a sharp dagger hidden in the shadow, and the response to him was an even more frightening voice.

"Very good, let him in." Victor said, the figure disappeared and retreated into the darkness, and soon after, another figure walked out of the shadow, he walked to the edge of the dark light of the culture tube with his elbow hanging.

"Come forward, my friend, let me see your face." Victor said calmly, but the voice carried an irresistible sense of majesty, as if it was a brief and clear input into the machine's mind, only execution was required.

The man from the shadow border took a few steps forward again, and his face was finally reflected on the glass of the culture tank. Through the fluorescent green glass, Victor saw the face on it.

"Stuer "Marko", my friend, I am glad to see you here."

"Me too, Lord, it is an honor to meet you."

"I heard that there was an accident there, an unsettling accident, right?"

Victor said, and he told Stuer everything that happened without waiting for Stuer to explain anything, but Stuer was not surprised at all. He certainly knew that he was the Dark Lord, the king of Gomor, and he knew everything that happened in the webway, even earlier than the parties involved.

He could decide whether to stop something or let it happen, but all this could not escape his vision. There was nothing in this darkness, but there was everything.

"Yes, Lord, a group attacked my base, but I have dealt with it and came to report immediately."

"I heard that it was a great pity. Many things disappeared in that accident. Please accept my regards, friend, but I hope that the thing is still in your hands, right?"

Victor asked coldly. The last two words were like a cold blade piercing Stu's heart. The chill made him tremble involuntarily. He looked at Victor standing alone in front of the culture tank. He was alone and didn't look scary, but the chill in his words was more frightening than the deepest ice cave.

Stu was silent for a moment, and he finally began to speak, "No, it's no longer in my hands."

"What a pity, very regrettable." Victor said, his eyes fixed on the culture tube in front of him, and his back was always facing Stu behind him. The latter couldn't see his face, and there was no shadow of him on the glass of the culture tank, as if he was not there at all.

"Someone stole him, Lord. That person disguised himself as a tamer in the arena and created a legend with his beast that night, and thus approached me."

"I heard about what happened that night. It's very interesting. And it seems that I underestimated that person. It's rare for someone to surprise me, but he did. Tell me, who is he?"

Stull looked at the person in front of him with his back to him. He looked at the darkness around him, trying to find the killer or beast lurking in the deep darkness, which would make Stull feel more at ease. But he found nothing. There was nothing but darkness, a pure and strange darkness.

The Lord in front of him didn't say a word, but just stood there, as if quietly waiting for his answer, just like a judge waiting for the prisoner's answer.

"Vito Constantine." Stull finally chose to speak and said the name, and when the name came out, Victor, who had been calm, seemed to have a little reaction. He turned his head slightly, and the bubbles rising in the water tank in front of him reflected the vague outline.

"Vito Constantine?" "Yes, Maharaja, Vito sneaked into my base, stole Isa's tears, and caused countless damage and destruction."

Victor tilted his head slightly. Although he glanced over, no facial features or expressions could be seen on his face. Stuart tried hard to detect any thoughts from Victor's face, but he couldn't do it. He couldn't see through this mysterious man at all.

He stood there, silent for a long time before slowly speaking, "Vito, stole the holy object?"

"Yes, Maharaja, he took the Tears of Isa and left a message." "What kind of message?"

Victor's words seemed to carry a trance and uncertain curiosity. He was interested, which was rare. Maybe this was a good sign, so Stuart planned to pursue the victory.

"His original words, "I will take this holy object and wait for Victor in the promised land." Do you understand what he means, Maharaja."

Victor suddenly laughed softly, and the low sneer was like a nail hitting the hilt of a sword, and it sank into the ice layer little by little with the hammer hitting again and again.

"Of course, my best friend left me an interesting message, very good." Victor said, and there seemed to be some kind of joy in his words, but it was only for a moment. In the blink of an eye, the cold ice enveloped everything again.

Stu's face was reflected on the glass jar. He looked at the glass jar and squinted slightly, as if he saw a human-shaped shadow in it. The thing was floating in the nutrient solution, and several tubes were hanging down from its body. It was

"But, your failure is still a fact, Stu." Victor said, and the word "friend" disappeared from his words, replaced by his name, a simple name without any title, which made Stu suddenly feel like he fell into an ice cave, and his whole body began to feel cold.

The shadows around him seemed to become deeper, more suffocating and frightening.

"Please punish me, Lord." Stu bowed his head and said, he did not give up resistance, but since he could not guess Vic's thoughts at all, it would be better to do it this way.

He might kill himself, or in a more cruel way, but at least he would know what to face, even if that meant the deepest despair.

Victor stood in front of the culture tank, with his back to Stuart behind him. His silence lasted for a long time. In the silence, the darkness around him became more turbid and deep. After the long silence of despair, Victor slowly spoke.

"Leave, Stuart, leave here."

Stuart was startled and raised his head in surprise to look at Victor in front of the culture tank in front of him. He reached out and touched the tank in front of him, looking at the human-shaped shadow floating in it.

"You won't punish me? Lord, I disappoint you."

"Maybe in the future I will, but now, no, leave Stuart, maybe soon, there will be something you need to decide, some, important things, I hope you can make the right decision at that time."

Victor's words were confusing and incomprehensible, and Stuart didn't know what he meant, but it was obvious that Victor didn't intend to say anything more, and it was not wise to question him, so it was time to leave.

Stull turned around and prepared to leave. Before leaving, he looked at the figure on the jar again. He squinted his eyes and looked at the outline. The shadow of that thing looked very similar to Victor, just like his reflection in the water.

Stull was silent for a while, then turned and walked into the shadow. He disappeared there, and soon a vague shadow walked out of the shadow. He stood at the border and looked at Victor.

"Great Lord, should we let him go?"

"Let him go. Anyway, he will be back here soon."

"Is he coming alone?"

"Maybe, maybe he will bring some friends, and I am also curious about who those friends will be. Go and get ready."

"Yes, Great Lord, what about you? What are your plans?"

Victor laughed softly. He looked up at the culture tank in front of him, and clicked his finger on the steel beside it. Then countless culture tanks lit up around the tank, and the fluorescent green liquid illuminated from them.

It also illuminated the figure standing in front of the shadow.

"I have to go to an invitation."
