Chapter 9 Things About the Dessert Shop
"Pepper is really going too far. I'm the boss, but she dared to kick me out of the office just because I ate her dessert!"
A Lamborghini was speeding on the streets of New York. The noisy music from the car and Tony's complaints were heard by his bodyguard and driver Happy.
"Tomorrow, I will definitely deduct her salary!"
"Come on, boss." Happy held the steering wheel and teased Tony, who was sitting in the passenger seat, with a smile: "You always say that, but I've never seen the number on Miss Pepper's salary slip go down."
"That's just because I forgot!" Tony said stubbornly: "Wait until tomorrow, tomorrow I will definitely deduct her salary, deduct it severely! Deduct it until she cries and begs me!"
Happy looked at the red light not far away, stepped on the brakes lightly, stopped the car steadily in front of the zebra crossing, then turned around and raised his eyebrows at Tony: "Then are we going to buy desserts to please Miss Pepper now?"
"What do you mean by pleasing her desserts! "Tony pulled his sunglasses down and stared at Happy with his swollen eyes: "It's just that I think the cake tastes good, so I want to buy some to enjoy!"
"Yes, yes, you are the boss, you have the final say." Happy shrugged, staring at the red light that was about to turn green: "Then let's go to Midtown Middle School, right?"
"Yes." Tony put his sunglasses back on his nose, lay comfortably in the passenger seat, and muttered in a low voice: "I can't believe that a pretty good dessert shop would open in front of the middle school. Are the students of this school very rich?"
Facts have proved that students may not be very rich, but they will definitely take advantage of others.
The day Tony and his friends came was not a coincidence. This afternoon happened to be the Crazy Thursday of Lucky Dessert House. The delicious desserts of $9 were enough to drive every student crazy.
For this reason, Happy's car was directly blocked on the street near the entrance of Midtown Middle School.
"This shop is really popular, boss." Happy pointed to the crowded crowd outside the Lucky Dessert House.
"Damn!" Tony sat up and looked at the direction Happy pointed: "Do students have so much pocket money now? Didn't Pepper's friend say that the things sold in this dessert shop are very expensive?"
"So we have to line up?" Happy asked Tony.
"Of course." Tony continued to lie back on the seat and said to Happy nonchalantly: "It's just that it's not the two of us who are going, but you."
"I knew it." Happy sighed, opened the car door and walked towards the crowded crowd.
"Come on, man." Tony stuck his head out of the car window and shouted to Happy who was charging hard, "This is about whether you can get all the year-end bonus this year."
"Come on." Happy felt the crowd around him struggling to move, and while moving his steps with difficulty, he muttered softly, "Miss Pepper, the accountant, will not deduct my year-end bonus."
But the facts proved that even a middle-aged man in his thirties could never squeeze through these groups of young and strong students.
When Happy finally squeezed to the door of the dessert shop, he only heard the sighs of the students around him.
"Damn it, it's sold out again."
"I should have skipped class and lined up earlier!"
"Come earlier next time."
Listening to the regrets of the students around him, Happy couldn't help but stand there.
"It's sold out?" Before he was about to turn around and report the situation to Tony, he found that Tony's figure had appeared behind him.
"Boss, aren't you not coming?" Happy turned around and asked Tony, who was holding his glasses.
"Because there were too many people just now, and now they have dispersed." Tony walked in front of Happy and gently pushed open the door of the dessert shop.
"But I heard from these students that the desserts are sold out, aren't they? Boss, do you still want to go in?" Happy looked at Tony's actions and asked him curiously.
"No, no, no." Tony held the door with one hand and shook his finger at Happy with the other hand: "The desserts are sold out, but the dessert chef who made the desserts can't be absent, right? Can't I, Tony Stark, let a mere dessert chef make a few desserts for my face?"
"Hello, welcome to Lucky Dessert House--" When Tony and Happy walked into the dessert shop, a weak voice sounded in front of the counter in the store.
"I'm very sorry, all the desserts on sale in the store today have been sold out. If you want to buy the desserts on sale, please line up in advance next Thursday." Gwen lay limply on the counter, repeating the words she had been repeating since just now to the customers coming in from the door without raising her head.
"Hey, little girl!" Tony knocked on the counter and asked Gwen who raised her head at the sound: "Is your pastry chef here?"
"In the back." Gwen looked at the familiar uncle in front of her with some doubts, turned her head without knowing why, and shouted to Su Heng who was busy in the bakery: "Manager, someone is looking for you!"
"I'm here." Su Heng's voice sounded from the bakery.
Tony and Happy didn't wait long, and Su Heng, wearing a white chef's uniform, walked out of the bakery.
"Who are you?" Su Heng looked at the two visitors in front of the counter in confusion. He found that except for the guy in sunglasses and beard who looked familiar, he had no other impression of them.
"Happy." Tony took two steps back and raised his chin to Happy.
Happy naturally knew what Tony meant. He walked in front of Su Heng and handed over his business card to Su Heng with a smile on his face: "Hello, I'm Happy Hogan from Stark Industries, and this is my boss Tony Stark. I believe you two should have some impression of my boss."
"Uh, so you two are not here to ask me to give you fifty as revenge or as some kind of start-up capital, right?" Su Heng listened to Happy's familiar words and asked Happy with a suspicious face.
"?" Happy and Tony looked at Su Heng in confusion.
"Manager, this really looks like the famous playboy Tony Stark!" Gwen, who was lying on the counter, poked Su Heng's arm with her hand and showed him the photo of Tony Stark on her phone. He was indeed 70% similar to the man standing next to Happy.
"Ahem, it's like this." Happy coughed twice and brought the topic back: "We came here to buy desserts today, but I heard that your desserts are sold out today. I wonder if you can make a dessert for us, the price and everything are negotiable."
"Hmm" Su Heng touched his chin, glanced at Tony who was pretending to be reserved with his chin raised, and pointed to the cabinet in the corner: "If it's the two of you, there should be desserts suitable for you."
Tony looked in the direction Su Heng pointed, and two twelve-inch cakes were placed in the corner cabinet.
"Then what did your little clerk say was sold out." Tony glanced at Gwen who was staring at him quietly, and couldn't help but raise his eyebrows.
"I think Gwen's selling out refers to the desserts on sale today." Su Heng nodded politely: "As for the two over there, they are normal prices without promotion, so students rarely buy them."
"No promotion?" Tony approached the cabinet and looked at the price tag inside the cake.
$648 is indeed not a price that students can afford, but for Tony, it is just a small amount of money.
"So Mr. Tony, which of the two cakes do you like? I'll help you take it out." Su Heng walked in front of Tony and asked him.
"Which one?" Tony waved his big hand generously: "Of course, pack them all for me."
Gwen, who was originally sitting at the counter to rest, heard Tony's generous voice, stood up with a bang, and kept signaling Su Heng with his eyes.
You know, the reason why Gwen comes to the store to help every week is because when he gets off work, Su Heng will discard or give Gwen the desserts that have not been sold that day.
Because it was Thursday, there were only these two cakes left. If all of them were bought by this playboy, it would be like Gwen had worked for nothing today!
"Okay, please wait." Su Heng certainly noticed Gwen's hint, but there was no reason not to do business when it came.
He completely ignored Gwen's resentful eyes, took out the cake box, and put the two cakes in it.
Swipe--
Accompanied by the sound of the bank card swiping through the POS machine, Su Heng handed the two packed cakes to Happy with a smile on his face.
"Thank you for your patronage. I hope you will have a happier time next time you come." Su Heng stood by the counter, smiling and watching Happy and Tony leave.
"More pleasant than today?" Tony walked in front with his hands behind his back, and couldn't help but chuckled.
Ring--
But before he opened the door of the dessert shop, a young man who looked a little honest walked in from outside.
"Sorry." Peter Parker also noticed Tony who was about to leave and Happy who was carrying two cake boxes behind him, and quickly made way.
Tony nodded slightly and walked out the door with Happy.
"Manager, you are too much!"
Just as Peter Parker gently closed the door, Gwen's complaints came from the store.
"If everything in the store is sold out today, then I've worked for nothing."
"Is it good to work for nothing? You little girls should eat less desserts, or you'll get fatter in the future!"
"I don't care. Since there's no cake, you have to pay me today's wages."
"Why do you want money?" Su Heng looked at Gwen suspiciously: "I remember Ms. Helen gave you a lot of pocket money every week, didn't she?"
"Today is my income from labor!" Gwen pulled Su Heng's collar and said viciously: "If you don't pay me, I'll report you to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce for exploiting part-time students!"
"Ahem, stop it, Gwen, someone's coming." At this time, Su Heng noticed Peter standing in front of the door, and quickly patted Gwen's wrist, signaling her not to be so violent.
"Humph!" Gwen tilted her head angrily, but her hand still honestly let go of Su Heng's collar.
"Peter Parker, am I right about your name?" Su Heng straightened his collar that was messed up by Gwen and asked Peter gently.
"Yes, sir." Peter nodded.
"You came a little late today. Even the two most expensive cakes are sold out~" Su Heng said to Peter with a smile.
"No sir, I'm not here to buy desserts today." Peter shook his head, walked up to Su Heng, and bowed deeply to Su Heng:
"I'm here to say thank you today."
"Oh!" Su Heng then remembered that the old man he saved yesterday seemed to be Peter's uncle.
"Looking at you, your uncle's life should not be in danger, right?" Su Heng leaned on the table and asked Peter curiously.
"Well, the hospital told me that it was you who made the emergency call." Peter looked at Su Heng gratefully: "And the bandage also slowed down Uncle Ben's bleeding. In addition, Uncle Ben's own condition at the time Due to physical reasons, I was able to survive until the ambulance came.”
"That's just a coincidence. After all, we just happened to meet each other." Su Heng smiled and patted Peter on the shoulder: "There is an old saying in my hometown called knowing the current affairs. Oh no, it just made sense."
Su Heng looked at Gwen and Peter's puzzled eyes, coughed twice quickly, and continued: "It should be that if you survive a catastrophe, you will be blessed later. Since your uncle survived this disaster, everything will happen slowly." Get better."
"Well." Peter lowered his head and murmured in a low voice, "Everything will be fine."
"You're just a young man." Su Heng looked at Peter's melancholy look and couldn't help but smile and asked, "Why do I feel like you still have something on your mind?"
"Ah" Peter opened his mouth and said with a wry smile, "Did you see it?"
"Let's talk about it." Su Heng supported his chin with both hands: "Although speaking out about some things may not necessarily solve them, it is better than keeping them in your heart alone."
"Well" Peter was silent for a while and whispered: "Sir, you may not know that my Uncle Ben often taught me that "the greater the ability, the greater the responsibility."
"Well, what your uncle said is very pertinent." Su Heng nodded. After all, this sentence can be said to be Su Heng's most classic line in "Spider-Man" before time travel.
"But from the time Uncle Ben was hospitalized to now, it's only been one day, and this sentence that Uncle Ben has been teaching me has always bothered me." Peter's eyes were full of confusion: "If I have the ability, But we can’t take into account all our responsibilities, so what should we do?”
"Oh? Can you tell me in detail?" Su Heng leaned closer and looked at Peter.
"For example, a person suddenly gains very powerful power. If this power is used correctly, it can help many people."
"But a person is only one person after all. No matter how powerful he is, he is still just one person. He cannot take care of everyone at all, especially his own family. If he helps other people, his family may suffer. If you don’t help others when you are in danger, it goes against what you have been taught before.”
"If that's the case, what should we do?"
"Yes, what should we do?" Su Heng glanced at Gwen, who was also lost in thought.
"So, do you have your family?" Su Heng smiled and asked Peter: "I mean, has that person ever asked his family for their opinion? What does his family want? Yes. His long-term companionship was to see his children grow up to be able to help others.”
"Is this the hope of the family?" Peter fell into deep thought.
If it were Uncle Ben
"I know!" Peter raised his head suddenly, and his clenched fists showed his determination at this moment.
"Thank you sir for clearing up the confusion." Peter bowed to Su Heng again, then said goodbye and left the dessert shop.
