Chapter 31 Must Win (Part 1)

Wimbledon's head coach, Stuart`Murdoch, has nothing to do with another Keith`Rupert`Murdoch, even though they have the same surname. The latter is a world-renowned media tycoon, while the former is just an unknown head coach of a low-level team. Like Tony Twain, he only has a certain amount of prestige in the team.

This season is the first time he has coached a team as a head coach. Wimbledon's poor performance is also related to his low ability. He always misjudged the situation on the court, then made wrong decisions, and finally led to a wrong defeat...

Like now. As soon as he signaled the team to press on, he was counterattacked by the Forest team.

Nottingham Forest captain Michael Dawson intercepted a pass from Wimbledon captain Nigel`Reo-Coker before passing it straight to Andy Reid on the wing. After two steps, it was passed to Ian Jess who was advancing.

Seeing Jess take the ball, Halewood recalled Twain's rant on the sidelines just now. He always felt that the head coach would really replace him, even though it was less than thirty minutes now. So he didn't dare to neglect, and desperately searched for space in the frontcourt, this time he must catch the ball!

After Wimbledon is pressed, there will inevitably be a lot of space behind, and large tracts of land are like towns located in the English countryside, one piece at a time.

Ian Jess saw these gaps, and he had to decide in the shortest possible time which part to pass to to lead to a goal, not to pass the ball when he saw the gap, whether there was anyone to respond to that place, whether it was possible to catch it, it all depends is the problem.

Harewood was running to the left, he involved a Wimbledon defender Mikele`Leigertwood, there was a brief vacuum in the middle, where was Johansen?

Jess turned his head to look, and he found that Johansen might insert from the right to the center. So without hesitation, he pushed straight with his foot, and the football quickly rolled across the no man's land at the front of the penalty area and penetrated Wimbledon's defense!

Johansen started at the same time, went diagonally into the middle, and caught the ball behind everyone!

Another out-of-position centre-back, Dean`Lewington, raised his hand to signal to the referee that Johansen was offside, essentially giving up his return.

The linesman did not raise the flag, the referee did not blow his whistle, and there was a huge cheer from the stands of the City Stadium.

"Johnsen is now one-on-one with Davis!"

Wimbledon goalkeeper Kevin Davis is a goalkeeper with experience in the Premier League. He reacts quickly and reaches out quickly, especially good at one-on-one with strikers. But what Johansen is not good at is one-on-one with the goalkeeper...

Seeing Davis attacking, Johansen hurriedly took a shot. The ball was of good quality, and it went towards the back corner of the goal. But Davis reacted faster. When he fell to the near corner, he stretched his feet to the far corner. The football hit his toes and bounced off the direction. Instead of flying into the goal, it flew towards the goal. On the other side of the restricted area.

The few hundred fans of the visiting team cheered violently. Their hearts were raised in their throats just now, and they might jump out of it at any time. Davis saved the team and their heart.

But... the test of their hearts has not passed yet!

When Jess passed the football to the middle, Harewood just ran over that route. He thought he missed it again this time, but he turned around and saw the football flying towards him!

Where is the goalkeeper? Still lying on the ground without getting up, he could even feel Leggettwood behind him frantically trying to squeeze in front of him to break the ball.

But this is my damn chance, if I don't get in, I will be replaced! I won't let you get what you want!

Halewood didn't care about that much anymore, he desperately put Leggettwood behind him, and then... jumped to the top!

The football flew into the empty goal without any suspense!

The suppressed atmosphere in the city stadium was finally released. The red stands were like a crater, spewing hot magma.

The stadium announcer chanted the scorer's name: "Malon—"

The 30,000 fans then shouted: "—Harewood!!"

Tang En jumped up from his seat, clenched his fists and hugged everyone around him in celebration.

"How many feet to pass?" he asked Walker, and Walker replied excitedly: "Four feet!"

"Great! Here's the proof!"

"Tony! We played what we asked for in practice..."

"Well, let's go on like this."

Just as Tang En finished talking to Walker, Halewood ran over excitedly, and shouted at Tang En, "You don't need to replace me this time, do you?"

"It's not enough, let's add one more!" Tang En happily replied loudly, "Let's add more!"

The radio said that today's Forest team is very strange, playing football that everyone thinks is unfamiliar. Macdonald is a little anxious, is there something wrong with the team?

When he was feeling uneasy, he heard a sudden sharp roar from the radio.

"Harewood! And`a`Goooal!!! 1:0, the Forest team leads!"

Old Macdonald jumped out of the small room again, stood in front of the door and shouted to the voice on the radio. It was as if he was also in the stands at the City Stadium, surrounded by fellow Forest team red jerseys, bouncing around and shouting "Forest Forest!"

Just finished his own celebration, the panting old man was about to go back to his room to continue listening to the game, when he heard another thunderous cry from the radio: "It's`a...? It's`a`Goal!! Marlon Halewood, scored twice! 2:0!"

When Harewood smashed Reed's wide cross to the goal, the commentator Mortensen still hesitated. The loud shouts from the stands of the stadium made the TV camera shake a little. He couldn't see clearly whether the goal was scored or not. Enter. But he soon saw David Johansen and Ian Jess with their arms raised, and the dejected Wimbledon goalkeeper Kevin Davies, the football was blocked behind this man, but there was no doubt that the ball in.

"It was brilliant! Twenty-nine minutes ago, Forest played unconvincingly, but in just three minutes, they scored two goals! Marlon Hellwood became the hero of the city stadium. Exciting performance!"

Tang En finished shaking his fist at Michael behind him on the coach's bench, then turned to Walker and said, "Quick! Direct! Simple! Efficient! Wimbledon didn't expect us to do this at all, and this second ball is proof! Malone Dude, I just said enough and he made another one, and I can't ask for more from him."

Walker smiled: "The players are all great. But maybe you don't know it yourself, Tony. It was because of your performance at halftime in the game against West Ham that they admired you and followed them wholeheartedly. You did it. To win the hearts of the players, your first step as a head coach was very successful."

Tang En scratched his head in embarrassment. He didn't expect that the decision made on a whim would bring him such great help and benefits.

In the next game, although the Forest team's ball possession rate still did not increase, everyone could see that the situation was in the hands of the home team. They repeatedly threatened Wimbledon's goal. If it weren't for Kevin Davis' outstanding After playing, the score has already been rising steadily.

Tang En is quite satisfied with this, and the initiative is on his side.

The first half passed quickly and the home team led by two goals. The fans in the stands gave their applause generously to the players and coaches of the Forest team.
