When many author friends heard that my new book was going to be a fantasy, they all said: It’s going to be cool.
As far as I know, it is indeed very risky for an author of reality (history, urban) to switch to fantasy (Xian Xia, fantasy), and there seem to be very few successful precedents. But I still decided to write fantasy.
