Chapter 2378 Education
“Stop… stop…”
It actually stopped.
This is a country...located on a star.
Lin calls it that for now.
Not long ago, the comet drill was pushed by a large group of "elves" and several burning chickens to a platform that looked like... a waste disposal platform.
As they were about to arrive, Lin detected the signals of the burning chickens.
In fact, they are sending out some signals to command the forward movement, and these signals are very similar to the language of some solidified organisms.
Lin's pompom can also imitate them...so Lin let the pompom send out a signal to tell them to 'stop'.
Then they just stopped. Lin felt that after the signal was sent, the surrounding gravity changed a little. Then the elf placed the bus drill on a platform below and then flew away.
This platform... gives Lin the feeling of an 'ice rink'. The ground is as cold and smooth as ice, and there are many creatures sliding around here.
These creatures 'skating' here...seem to be phoenixes as well.
They are more than one meter in size, and they all look like they are gliding quickly on the ground with their wings spread out.
This group of skating phoenixes were very interested in the comet drill that was suddenly placed here. They slid over, surrounded the drill and watched, but they did nothing else.
So what Lin was more concerned about was...those burning chickens.
They did not fly away like elves. Three burning chickens landed in front of Lin's fluff ball. One of them sent a signal to the fluff ball: "Test learning ability."
"Test your learning ability, your understanding of meaning and your range of perception. Follow me and do the movements."
After saying these wonderful words, the burning chicken began to swing left and right on the spot.
"..."After watching for a while, the ball of fluff also started to sway left and right with it.
"Able to learn! Able to learn! Request for teaching, request for teaching!"
After the pompoms waved for a while, the chickens seemed to become very excited. They began to send out large-scale signals. Soon Lin saw a metal object flying from the distant sky... It was more than ten meters in size and looked like a box.
"Wait here and learn from you." After saying this, the three burning chickens flew away, and the metal box landed in front of the ball.
"We are assembling a structure that feels intimate and arranging the order, so please wait."
The box sent out a series of signals... in fact, they were all speaking a solidified biological language.
After more than ten seconds, Lin found that the top of the metal box opened, and a... ball of fluff floated out from it.
It seemed to be made in the shape of Lin's pompom...exactly the same.
However, this pompom looks like a pure silver metal structure, and there are many tiny metal wire-like structures on its outer skin as fluff. Like Lin's pompom, it used the fluff to walk down from the box and came in front of the pompom.
"I am an educator." The metal ball said after it stood still. "I will use simple information to help you understand everything here. Reading along with me means you understand. Pointing is the goal. I will make a preliminary judgment."
As it spoke, the metal ball pointed downwards with a strand of… fluff and said, "The ground."
"..." Lin's pompom didn't move, and then the metal pompom said, "Repeat to show understanding."
"The ground." Then Lin repeated it.
"I understand. Very good." Then the metal ball pointed at some small objects on the ground that looked like ice chips and said, "Small fragments."
"Small pieces." Fluffball repeated.
Then, it pointed to a phoenix skating nearby and said, "Sliding inferior species."
"...Sliding inferior species."
Then it pointed at the bus drill and said, "Large waste."
"...It's not waste." said the ball of fluff.
"Being able to judge meaning and form one's own opinions," said the metal ball. "It will lead to a more profound education."
Then it pointed to the ground and said, "Give the inferior species an area of ground where they can slide less inferiorly."
“…”
Next, it talked to Lin... for a long time.
Basically, it is teaching Lin what the objects around her are called. If Lin has any opinions on the name of the object... then it will give a more profound explanation of the object.
So after chatting for a while, Lin also understood why it called those sliding phoenixes inferior species.
Because they...can't fly.
Flying here is not ordinary flying. It mainly requires grasping the direction of the 'gravitational flow' and knowing how to control it.
This is a relatively complex technique. According to Metal Pompom, some individuals are born with the ability to do it while others are not.
Those who are born without the ability will be called inferior species regardless of whether they learn it later or not.
And 'skating' here helps them learn to fly, because the surface here is not ice, but a special substance.
When they glide, they scrape off a lot of debris on the surface, and these debris will enhance their perception after mixing into their bodies, allowing them to have the ability to control gravitational flow.
But no matter what, they are still inferior species, and this will not change.
Then Lin asked the metal ball about the specific situation here, but it... seemed unable to tell Lin.
It could only point out the functions of the surrounding objects, and it couldn't explain anything in depth. For example, if Lin asked about the population history of these 'inferior' phoenixes, it wouldn't know.
Finally, the metal ball of fluff expressed its recognition of Lin's ball of fluff as...a 'primary resident' and arranged the ball of fluff to a nearby residence.
And after Lin's...persuasion, the comet drill acknowledged that this was not waste, but it also said that this thing must be placed in the "garbage dump".
It seems that they don't like the comet drill, and for some reason, they have no intention of investigating.
So Lin decided to go to the residential area first.
The residential area seems to be a more interesting place, because it is said that there are more residents here and there should be more people to communicate with.
Then, the metal ball of fluff gave Lin a map of the nearby area. Lin originally thought that it could take her there, but it couldn't fly.
However, it said that Lin could jump between platforms because each platform had its own gravity, and she could reach another platform by jumping a short distance.
The residential area is more than ten platforms away from here, and from here you can already see many creatures of various shapes and forms moving around there.
