Long Review by Book Friend ‘Gui Pu Jushi’
Only when you have loved deeply can you understand the pain of losing, and only when you have it personally can you know the joy of cherishing. Many people think that history is boring and unattainable, but they don’t know that our lives will eventually become the history of future generations. It’s not that we created history, we are just a group of ordinary people, but sometimes silently participating is also a kind of ordinary greatness.
I have always loved history, especially the Ming Dynasty. Because at the beginning I was just obsessed with historical events and remembered their significance. Yes, this is a kind of love for exams. Maybe I am just good at exams, or it is the high scores in history exams that make me love it.
Until the day of the third year of junior high school, I met the head teacher in a cram school teaching mathematics, physics and chemistry. I don’t remember her face very clearly, but I still remember that she was a beautiful college student with a round face. Although she managed us strictly, she would tell us about history every day during the lunch break. I was deeply fascinated by the story as soon as I heard it, and I noticed that she was holding "Things about the Ming Dynasty" by Dangnian Mingyue. During that holiday, I bought this set of books and read it three times.
This is why I like Ming history so much, because it allowed me to see the flesh-and-blood Ming Dynasty for the first time, a dynasty where love and hate are intertwined but very real. It is no exaggeration to say that it is a people-oriented Ming Dynasty, which is fresh and attractive.
After I devoted myself to that period of history, in addition to some passion and excitement, I began to feel melancholy and regretful. Whether it was Zhu Yuanzhang who killed meritorious officials and passed the throne to his grandson Zhu Yunwen or Zhu Di who started a rebellion and finally became emperor, I saw the cruelty and helplessness of the wheel of history rolling forward and the king's family not allowing any emotion. I was dissatisfied with Zhu Di's usurpation of the throne at first, and felt that the ministers he killed were wronged for nothing, and they were not wrong. As the history books often say, a general's success is the result of the sacrifice of thousands of bones. That era has finally changed and is getting better and better. Zhu Di is one of the most dedicated emperors in the history of the Ming Dynasty. He almost personally handled everything and made many northern expeditions. It is no exaggeration to say that Zhu Di laid the foundation of this huge empire and made the greatest contribution to his subsequent rule for more than two hundred years. The history that followed had its own joys and sorrows. What impressed me most was the tragedy of Tumubao and the fact that Emperor Chongzhen committed suicide to protect the people of Beijing.
After more than three years, I was once again deeply attracted by the history of the Ming Dynasty. This time it was Jazz's "Returning to the Ming Dynasty with a Warehouse". To be honest, I started reading it with the mentality of reading a cool system-type article, but I got deeper and deeper into it, because I felt that Fang Xing's appearance and his time travel made up for some of my regrets about the history of the Ming Dynasty. He made me feel like he was the embodiment of my will, and he gave me a deeper understanding of the Ming Dynasty in my impression. In the group, I also met book friends who also loved this book, loved the Ming Dynasty, and loved Zhu Di, a lonely, stubborn old man who longed for family affection.
What makes me deeply fascinated by this book is not only Fang Xing's domineering and the influence he brought to the people and the royal family of the Ming Dynasty, but also the feelings of the author, Sir. Zhu Di's sudden death allows us to see that this somewhat unkind emperor struggled to support the country and fought to the last moment. The Emperor Ren had been hiding his talents for many years, and once he came to power, he was dragged down by civil officials. Many people said that he was indecisive. In fact, he was not a fool. He just chose a gentler way that would not cause great turmoil to change this overly large empire. The short reign and sudden death made many plans have to be shattered halfway. If I were to say the most gratifying thing, it might be that the tragedy of Tumubao would not happen.
The history of the Ming Dynasty is very long, and our road is also very long. We are willing to accompany Sir all the way. You write slowly, we read little by little, and write the Ming Dynasty in our hearts together.
Finally, I attach a little bit of my feelings after reading the Six Kingdoms Theory, which has something to do with the Ming Dynasty. I put it below as an ending.
The King of Qin was arrogant and loved fame, and I didn't know who would win the monarchy? Chongzhen will protect the people, how can his descendants be called eternal?
