Chapter 712 Dementors and Crouch
Harry had a very heavy dream. In fact, overexertion made his spirit completely empty. Darkness was the eternal tranquility.
I don't know how long it took, but Harry woke up.
The warmth and fatigue made him unable to open his eyes, and he wanted to fall asleep again. The room was still dark, which made him think that the night was not over yet and that he had not slept very long.
Then Harry heard a whisper next to him.
"They would have woken him if the door had not been closed."
"What are they shouting about? Nothing else happened, right?" Harry opened his eyes, which were so tired that they hurt.
Someone took off his glasses, and he could only see the blurry outlines of Mrs. Weasley and Bill nearby.
Mrs. Weasley was crouching. "That's Cornelius Fudge's voice," she muttered. "And it's Professor McGonagall's, isn't it? What on earth are they arguing about?"
Harry could hear someone making a noise as they walked toward the hospital wing.
"It's regrettable, but still, McGonagall -" Cornelius Fudge said loudly.
"You should never have brought it into the castle in the first place," cried Professor McGonagall. "When Dumbledore found out—"
Harry heard the hospital door being knocked open.
Bill reopened the curtain, and everyone else at the bedside looked at the door. They didn't notice Harry sitting up and putting on his glasses.
Fudge strode into the ward. Professors McGonagall and Snape followed closely behind.
"Dumbledore didn't come?" Fudge asked Mrs. Weasley.
"He's not here," said Mrs. Weasley angrily. "This is a ward, sir, and don't you think you'd better—"
But then the door opened and Dumbledore quickly walked into the ward.
"What happened?" Dumbledore looked at Fudge and Professor McGonagall and said, "Why are you disturbing these people? Minerva, I am surprised - I asked you to guard Barty Crouch Jr."
"There is no need to guard him any longer, Dumbledore," she said sharply. "The gentleman has found someone to look after him."
Harry had never seen Professor McGonagall lose control as much as she did now. The color of anger appeared on her cheeks, her hands formed into fists, and she was shaking with rage.
"When we told Mr. Fudge that we had captured the corpse eater responsible for tonight's events," Snape said in a low voice, "he seemed to feel that his personal safety was in question. He insisted on calling in a Dementor to accompany him. Enter the castle. He takes it to Barty Crouch Jr.'s office."
"I told him you would not allow it, Dumbledore," Professor McGonagall shouted angrily. "I told him you would never allow the Dementors to enter the castle, but -"
"My dear lady!" Fudge shouted, and Harry had never seen him so angry. "As the Minister of Magic, I have the right to decide whether to bring bodyguards with me. When I visit a place that is likely to be dangerous..."
But Professor McGonagall's voice overshadowed the rule of law. "The moment that thing came into the room," she screamed, pointing tremblingly at Fudge, "it pounced on Crouch and..."
Harry felt a cold feeling in his stomach. When Professor McGonagall tried desperately to describe what happened, he understood what the dementor had done - it gave Barty Crouch Jr. a fatal kiss. It sucked Crouch's soul out through its mouth - which was worse than death.
"But no matter what, he is still intact," Fudge yelled. "He should be responsible for the deaths of these people."
"But he can't tell his testimony, Cornelius," said Dumbledore. He stared at the rule of law fiercely, as if this was the first time he saw him. "He couldn't give any evidence why he killed those people."
"Why kill them? There's no doubt about it, right?" shouted Fudge. "He's a madman! From what McGonagall and Severus told me, he seems to think he's doing this in compliance with— — the will of 'that person'."
"Duke Voldemort ordered him, Cornelius." Dumbledore said, "Those people died just to restore Voldemort to full strength. The plan has been successful, and Voldemort has returned to their bodies."
Fudge stared blankly as if he had been punched hard in the face.
He blinked drowsily and looked at Dumbledore again, as if he couldn't believe what he had just heard.
He stared at Dumbledore and began to say hurriedly, "No... that person... is back? Ridiculous. Dumbledore, okay..."
"No doubt as Minerva and Severus told you," said Dumbledore, "we heard the confession of Barty Crouch Jr., who told us how he struggled to survive under Voldemort's influence. After coming out of Azkaban, Voldemort found out from Percy Zolkins that he was still alive. He released him from his father and used him to capture Harry. Let me tell you, that plan worked. , Crouch helped Voldemort return."
"Attention, Dumbledore," said Fudge.
Harry was surprised to see a bright smile appear on his face.
"You - you can't really believe those words, do you know who is back? Okay, okay... Of course, Crouch may believe that he is acting on the orders of 'that person' - but to make such a Take what the madman says seriously, Dumbledore..."
"Attention, Cornelius, I think this is the second time I am reminding you." Dumbledore said calmly. "Looks like you don't quite understand yet."
"When Harry touched the Magic Cup of the Tri-Wizards Tournament tonight, he was sent directly to Voldemort," Dumbledore said smoothly. "He saw Voldemort's rebirth with his own eyes, and, as he said in my office before It's all true, but I don't mind explaining it a second time, if you can understand." Dumbledore glanced at Harry and saw that he was awake.
Dumbledore shook his head and said, "I'm afraid I can't let you ask Harry tonight."
Cornelius Fudge's strange smile froze.
He also glanced at Harry, then at Dumbledore, and said, "Are you going to take Harry's words seriously?"
There was silence, broken by Sirius' barking. He bristled the hair on his neck and grinned at Fudge.
If you don't mind, Fanlin will think that Sirius has finally begun to evolve into a mad dog.
Leaving one's post without authorization and baring one's teeth at the boss...
Um……
"Of course I believe Harry," Dumbledore said with bright eyes. "I listened to Crouch's confession and Harry's account of what happened after he touched the March Impossible Cup. Both would provide a reasonable explanation for what happened after Percy Zowkins went missing last summer. Things." (To be continued)
