Chapter 708: School Doctor’s Office
Harry continued.
He explained how Voldemort had emerged from the cauldron, told them what he could remember of what Voldemort had said to the group of corpse-eaters, and how Voldemort had untied him and given him his wand, Prepare for a duel.
When Harry said the voice of Fan Lin who suddenly appeared, Sirius couldn't sit still. He wanted to find Fan Lin, but no one knew where it was.
But when he said that a golden light connected him to Voldemort's staff, he found that his throat was blocked.
He wanted to go on, but memories of what came out of Voldemort's wand flooded his mind: he saw people, saw the old man, Percy. Zolkins...his mother...his father...
He was glad that Sirius had broken the silence. "The wands are connected together?" He looked at Harry and Dumbledore and asked, "Why?"
Harry looked up at Dumbledore, who looked fascinated.
"Prior Incantato (Flashback Curse)..." Dumbledore muttered.
He stared at Harry, and suddenly a flash of realization flashed between them.
"Inverted spell effectiveness?" said Sirius pointedly.
"That's right!" said Dumbledore, "Harry's wand and Voldemort's have the same core, and each wand has a feather from the same phoenix tail. This phoenix, actually..." He Then he said, pointing to the empty shelf.
"The feathers on my wand belong to Fawkes?" Harry said in surprise.
"Yes," said Dumbledore, "Mr. Ollivander wrote to tell me that when you left his shop four years ago, you bought a second staff."
"What happens when a rod touches his brother?" asked Sirius.
"They will not function properly together," said Dumbledore, "but if the wand owner forces them to fight, there will be little effectiveness."
"One of the wands will force the other to repeat the spell it has used - inverting it. The nearest becomes the furthest... and then the ones before it." He studied Harry, who nodded. "This means," said Dumbledore slowly, staring into Harry's face, "that some form of Lily, as well as James, is bound to reappear."
"Yes, that's right." Harry murmured, "No wonder Fanlin asked me to duel Voldemort."
"So, Lily and James are resurrected again?" Sirius said in a high-pitched voice.
"No spell can bring the dead back to life," Dumbledore said gravely. "Then all that happens is a reverse reaction. The living shadows of Lily and James emerge from the wand. Am I right? Harry."
"He talked to me," Harry said, his voice shaking again. "The ghost of my parents, or whatever it was, spoke to me."
"An echo," said Dumbledore. "It retains the features and features of Lily and James. I suppose other such forms have appeared..."
"The previous victim of Voldemort's wand...an old man," said Harry, still choking, "Percy Zolkins and..."
"Your parents!" Dumbledore said quietly.
Sirius gripped Harry's shoulders so tightly that it hurt.
"One of the wand's earliest victims," said Dumbledore, nodding, "in reverse order. Of course, if you keep that connection, there will be more to come. Well, Harry, these Reaction, these shadows...what did they do?"
Harry described how the figures coming out of the wand were wandering in the golden net. Voldemort seemed to be very afraid of them. Harry's father's shadow told him what to do, and then Fanlin urged him outside the circle of light. At this point, Harry found that he couldn't go on.
He looked at Sirius, who covered his face with his hands.
"I say it again," said Dumbledore, "tonight you have shown the greatest courage I could ever wish for. Your courage, Harry, is the same as those who fought and died bravely despite the power of Voldemort. You have taken on the burden of a wizard, and you are up to it. You give us hope. Tonight you come with me to the hospital wing. I don't want you to go back to the dormitory again, take some sleeping pills, and lie quietly …Sirius, are you willing to stay with him?”
Sirius nodded and stood up. He transformed back into the big black dog, walked out of the office with Harry and Dumbledore, and accompanied them down the stairs to the hospital wing.
When Dumbledore opened the door, Harry saw Mrs. Weasley, Bill, Ron and Hermione surrounding the distressed Madam Pomfrey. They seemed to be demanding to know what happened to Harry and him. .
Harry didn't dare to look up. He didn't want to look at Hermione's face. Suddenly, Harry became speechless. He couldn't even say hello...
As soon as Harry, Dumbledore and the big black dog came in, they immediately came over and surrounded them. Mrs. Weasley gave a whimpering cry.
"Harry, oh, Harry." She started running towards her, but Dumbledore stood between them.
"Molly," he said, raising his hand, "please listen to me for a moment. Harry has been through a terrible ordeal tonight, and he has just recounted it all for me. Now all he needs is some quiet rest. If he If you want you to stay with him," he looked at Ron, Hermione and Bill, and added, "you can stay with him. But I hope you can't ask him until he is ready to answer, and of course not tonight .”
Mrs. Weasley nodded palely. She suddenly scolded Ron and Bill as if they were making a noise, "You hear that? He needs to be quiet."
"Headmaster," said Madam Pomfrey, looking at the large black dog that Sirius had transformed into, "I would like to request—"
"The dog will stay with Harry for a while," Dumbledore said bluntly. "He's well trained, I promise. Harry, I'll wait until you go to bed."
Harry felt a sense of gratitude to Dumbledore for telling him not to ask questions. It's not that he doesn't want them here, but he just can't bear to explain and relive it again.
Especially, how should he explain it to Hermione?
Explain why Fan Lin hasn't come back yet. Most of Hermione's worries are him now, but what if Hermione knows that Fan Lin has also seen Voldemort?
There was no way he could hide it. As long as Hermione asked, he had to answer honestly.
"I'm going to see Cornelius and then I'll come back to see you, Harry," said Dumbledore. "You stay here until tomorrow, until I've spoken to the school."
Then he left.
As Madam Pomfrey led Harry to a nearby bed, he saw the real Moody lying motionless on the bed at the other end of the room. His wooden leg and magic eye were on the bedside counter.
"How is he?" Harry asked. "He'll be fine," Madam Pomfrey said. She gave Harry his pajamas and drew the bed curtains around him. Harry took off his robe, put on his pajamas, and got into bed.
Ron, Hermione, Bill, Mrs. Weasley and the black dog gathered around the bed curtain and sat on the chairs on either side of him.
Ron and Hermione looked at him cautiously, as if they were afraid of him.
"I'm fine," Harry told them, "just a little tired."
Harry quickly moved his eyes away from Hermione's face. It looked like the girl was asking Harry about Fanlin, but Fanlin...
Mrs. Weasley's eyes filled with tears as she smoothed his bedspread.
Madam Pomfrey hurried to her office, bringing with her a goblet and a vial of purple potion.
"Harry, you have to drink these," she said. "This is a medicine that ensures sleep without dreams." Harry took the glass and drank a few sips. Immediately he felt dizzy and everything around him became blurry. The lights in the room seemed to be blinking friendlyly at the side of his bed through his bed curtains, and his body seemed to be sleeping on the warm feather bed. The cushion sunk deeper.
Before he finished drinking the medicine and before he could speak, exhaustion brought him to sleep. (To be continued)
