Chapter 671 Dumbledore’s Memory
Harry wanted to touch it to see what it felt like, but four years of living in the wizarding world had taught him that sticking his hand into a tub of unknown substance was a foolish thing to do.
So he reached into his robes, took out his wand, looked nervously around the office, and then back to the contents of the basin.
He poked it with his stick. The surface of the silver substance immediately began to spin, spinning faster and faster.
Harry bent down and stuck his head into the cupboard. The silvery substance has become as transparent as glass. He wanted to see what was at the bottom of the basin - but he saw that there was a large room under the surface of this mysterious substance.
It was as if he were looking through a round window in the ceiling. The room was so dark that he even thought it was underground because there were no windows, just torches on brackets protruding from the wall, like the ones used for lighting at Hogwarts. His face was so close that his nose almost touched the glass material.
Harry saw many witches and wizards gathered in a circle, sitting on rows of stepped stools against the wall.
There was an empty chair in the middle of the room. This chair gave Harry an ominous feeling. The arms of the chair were wrapped around it, as if the person sitting on it was tied to it. What is this place? It was certainly not Hogwarts; he had never seen such a room in the castle.
Besides, the people in the room where the pelvic floor is showing are adults. Harry felt that none of them were teachers at Hogwarts. They looked like they were waiting for something, Harry thought.
Although he could only see the tips of their hats, they all seemed to be facing the same direction and no one was talking to each other. Because the stone basin was round and the room he was inspecting was square, he couldn't see what was happening in the corner. He moved closer and tilted his head lower, trying to see...
"You should be careful, Harry."
Fanlin's voice made Harry jump. Harry had almost forgotten that he was not alone in Dumbledore's office.
Fan Lin took a closer look at Harry's performance. It seemed that even if he didn't know what it was, the attraction of the pensieve should not be underestimated.
It seemed that Dumbledore had been using this thing before, but the arrival of Fudge and others made Dumbledore forget to put the pensieve away.
Fan Lin very much suspected that Dumbledore had left it to them on purpose. Without Dumbledore's permission, they could not use the things in the office.
"What's this?"
"It's called the Pensieve. It's an incredible tool used to preserve thoughts and memories in the mind. It's a brilliant alchemical product. At least, there are not many alchemical products that can use runes as a carrier of magic power." Fan Lin After a pause, "This should be produced by Nicolas Flamel."
Although Nicoléme did not admit it, as far as Fanlin knew, only Nicoléme could refine such a thing.
"Pensieve?" Harry looked at the flowing silver medium uncertainly, "You mean, it's all Dumbledore's memories?"
"Yes, Dumbledore's memory." Fan Lin said, "I once asked Professor Dumbledore, and he told me that he has many memories. In order not to be forgotten, he chose to use a pensieve to preserve them."
"Can memories also be saved?"
"Of course, memory can be saved, read, or..." Fan Lin did not continue.
For Dumbledore, nothing about Harry was a secret, but he was different. Initially, Fanlin chose to learn Occlumency in order to avoid being eliminated by others, especially Dumbledore.
It can be said that at the beginning, Dumbledore's threat to him was no less than that of Voldemort. Even in terms of pressure, Dumbledore was much greater than the pressure that Voldemort put on Fan Lin.
"Memory..." Harry said uncertainly. His eyes quickly wandered away from the pensieve, and then he forcibly turned his eyes away.
"Then let's put this thing back quickly." Harry said with some difficulty.
You know, this is Dumbledore's memory, and with so many things happening recently, the memory that Dumbledore is looking through must not contain any insignificant memories.
but……
"Don't be so nervous, Harry." Fan Lin said, "For wizards, these memories are more like a book, but they are too vivid."
"Book?"
"Yes, they are books." Fan Lin said, "These memories are relatively precious information for Dumbledore, used to help him connect what happened with what is happening now."
As soon as Fan Lin raised his arm, Fox flew back to the shelf and tilted his head to look at the two of them.
Fan Lin walked over and gently fiddled with the mirror of the pensieve.
The scene inside is somewhat familiar, with black bricks and stones, high seats, and everyone surrounding a cage in the middle like stars over the moon.
"The Supreme Court of the Wizengamot." Fan Lin laughed softly, "This is a rare scene."
"What is the Wizengamot?"
"A place where a bunch of boring people punish others." Fan Lin said, "It doesn't matter, you should see it."
"How did I see it?" Harry was a little confused.
"Would you like some pudding?" Fan Lin asked, passing the snack in his hand.
Harry nodded. He was also a little hungry, so he didn't refuse.
Fan Lin glanced around and saw that all the old guys were pretending to sleep. It could be said that Dumbledore had not given up monitoring the two of them.
It seems to be somewhat arranged.
"Harry, how about we take a look?" Fan Lin said suddenly. He stretched out his hand and the pensieve floated in front of him.
"Isn't this bad?" Harry said with difficulty, "Does this count as voyeurism?"
"It's okay, I've used it twice." Fan Lin said, "This is just some information, don't be so nervous."
Harry felt a little moved.
Who wouldn’t want to take a look at Dumbledore’s memories?
"Forgot to tell you that the Wizengamot was where Sirius was supposed to be tried."
"The trial of Sirius, that was not Mr. Crouch..."
"Before Fudge, the Wizengamot was always presided over by Crouch, the highest court of the Ministry of Magic." Fanlin said, "Come on, let us see what the secret is."
Before Harry could respond, Fan Lin activated the magic pattern on the pensieve. In an instant, a breathtaking light engulfed Harry. (To be continued)
