Chapter 275 Two People
"What should we do now?" Harry asked. He wanted to go in with his original self, but Vanlin and Hermione had no intention of moving.
"Wait..." Vanlin said unhappily. Buckbeak had been behind them for a short while, and Buckbeak had eaten all the ferret meat.
"That's right, we can't go in." Hermione said, "It's too dangerous. There is no room for us to hide in the Shrieking Shack, and Professor Lupin and Professor Snape haven't arrived yet."
"I hope they don't come. It will make things much easier!" Vanlin said. He loosened Buckbeak's chain. The hippogriff happily crossed the forest. It didn't like the feeling of being bound, but Buckbeak didn't leave too far. He kept following Vanlin and the others.
"Shh, keep your voice down, Professor Lupin is here..." Hermione said. At this time, the castle gate opened a gap, and Professor Lupin hurried out of the door.
It was already night time, and Hogwarts was particularly quiet. The moon was completely blocked by the dark clouds, and it had been like this for the past few days.
Professor Lupin quickly crossed the lawn in front of the castle. Just as he entered the secret passage under the Whomping Willow, the castle door was opened again, and Snape walked out, still holding his wand in his hand.
"Damn, how could Professor Lupin forget to drink the wolfsbane potion!" Harry said a little badly. He watched Snape follow Professor Lupin's steps into the secret passage under the Whomping Willow, but they couldn't go out to stop him. Even if they jumped out now, Snape would not give up tracking Professor Lupin, and they had no way to subdue Snape.
"Fanlin, there are some things I don't understand... Why didn't the Dementors catch Sirius? I remember they came. Then I probably fainted... There were so many of them..."
Fanlin and Harry also sat down together. Harry told her what they saw; told her that when the Dementor closest to him was about to put his mouth to Harry's mouth, a large silver thing rushed over from the lake. Forced the Dementors to retreat.
When Harry finished speaking, Hermione's mouth opened a little. Although she had heard about it before, Vanlin only vaguely said that someone had cast a Patronus Charm on the other side of the lake, and Vanlin did not tell her about the Dementors' attack.
"But what is that?"
"There is only one thing that can make Dementors leave," Harry said, "and that is a real Patronus. A powerful Patronus."
"So who summoned it?" Harry said nothing. He was thinking about the person he saw across the lake. He knew who he thought it was... but how could it be possible? "Did you see what he looked like?" Hermione asked eagerly, "Which teacher?"
"No," said Harry, "He's not a teacher."
"But he must be a truly powerful wizard who can drive away so many Dementors... If that patronus can emit such a bright light, wouldn't it illuminate himself? You can't see..."
"Yes, I saw him," Harry said slowly, "but... I might have imagined it... I wasn't very clear at the time... I passed out immediately after that..."
Fanlin looked at the sky silently, but the conversation between Hermione and Harry suddenly stopped.
"Unfortunately, I didn't see it clearly either. My consciousness was a little fuzzy at the time. The patronus seemed to be a stag..."
Fanlin spread his hands and quickly explained what he saw. Hermione felt a little disappointed, but Harry was slightly relieved.
"Who do you think that was, Harry?" Hermione asked. She really wanted to know who saved the three people from Vanlin. You know, Dumbledore was accompanying Fudge, and it was impossible for him to split himself to save them. The other professors, except Snape and Professor Lupin, were all in the castle, responsible for the defense of the castle.
"I think--" Harry swallowed, knowing how strange it sounded, "I think it was my father."
Harry glanced at Hermione and saw that her mouth was completely open. She stared at him, with both panic and pity in her expression.
"Harry, your father is... um... dead." She said calmly, the girl tried to make herself appear less sad and compassionate, she didn't want to hurt Harry.
"I know." Harry said quickly.
"Do you think you saw his ghost?"
"I don't know... no... he looks real..."
"So--"
"Maybe I saw an illusion," Harry said, "but... from what I can see... it looks like him... I have a picture of him..."
Hermione was still looking at him, as if she was worried that he was not in his right mind.
"I know that sounds like crazy talk," Harry said calmly. He turned back to look at Buckbeak, who was sticking his beak into her, apparently looking for bugs. But Harry wasn't really looking at Buckbeak.
"But, as Vanlin said, the Patronus is a stag, and my father's Animagus is a stag. You should know the characteristics of the Patronus Charm. Vanlin's Patronus is a ferret..."
"Harry..." Hermione called softly, and then there was no sound. She looked at Vanlin, but neither of them knew how to comfort Harry at this time.
Fan Lin certainly knew that the person standing on the other side of the lake was Harry himself. Ever since Peter Pettigrew escaped and Hermione took out the time converter, Fan Lin knew that some major things had not changed much so far.
But strangely, in the original incident, Harry solved the Dementors alone, but what happened today made Fan Lin very confused.
Just after Harry fell into a coma, another person stood up to release the Patronus Charm. He knew very well that it was not him, so it could only be Hermione.
But where was he at that time?
Fan Lin was a little distressed. Until midnight, Peter Pettigrew did not appear in Hogwarts, so what did he do?
If it was really as he thought, he would go to hunt down Peter Pettigrew himself, but no one found Peter until the early morning, which meant that his job of hunting down Peter was not easy, and it might even fail.
This not only made Fan Lin distressed.
Fan Lin looked at the open space on the lawn. Peter would appear there soon, but Fan Lin suddenly felt that his preparations were not so sufficient. (To be continued)
