This book originated from a story idea I had thought of before, but I actually struggled for a long time before I started writing, because... auditing.

It's not the auditing of online articles. Urban fantasy and urban cultivation can be written online, such as the corpse collector by Feilong next door.

The one who persuaded me not to write this book was my copyright partner. The partner repeatedly persuaded me not to write this book and change the story.

Because, the surreal theme under the urban world view can only be written about superpowers and science fiction. (For example, the previous book "Steady Don't Wave" is considered superpowers and soft science fiction)

But if you write about urban cultivation and urban fantasy...then you will have no chance of film and television adaptation, and the animation will not sell.

Because animation and film and television, due to the problem of auditing, it is impossible to buy the copyright of the theme of urban fantasy and urban cultivation - superpowers can still be used to make a soft science fiction.

Cultivation, placed in the modern city, completely blocks the road to IP. In the current film and television and animation review framework, the city must not have ghosts and gods.

But... I am willful again.

It's not impossible to write another story, but... I can only feel it when writing this story.

In fact, there is a more profitable project, an urban science fiction theme, and the client has already talked to me last year. The copyright is willing to cover the bottom, which means that the copyright is equivalent to pre-sale before writing - but I looked at the framework, didn't like it, and felt that I didn't feel anything, so I rejected it.

Maybe, in my forties, I am still such a willful guy.

I just want to write about a little sly guy who is forced to become a charlatan after leaving a big factory.

I just want to write about a little clip that smells like corn.

I just want to write about a timid but cute unlucky girl.

I just want to write about a cynical and superstitious old lady.

I just want to write a novel about a stepmother...

...and there are more interesting characters waiting to appear later...

To be honest, this book has not performed as well as the previous one so far, and I know the reason very well - the previous book was too discontinued in the later period.

It hurt the trust of many readers.

So now the performance of this book is much worse than the previous one, and I am willing to admit it. There must be a cause for every effect.

But I really wrote this story very seriously and put a lot of thought into it.

Before writing this book, I summarized my previous experience, so the framework of this book will not be very large, and I don’t want to do the kind of logical trap that forces me into a corner and I can’t get out of it.

The framework is not complicated, so it should minimize the situation of being stuck.

Let me talk about some of the feedback from readers so far about this book.

The similarity between Chen Yan and Chen Xiaogou in the previous book... In terms of being cunning, the two characters are similar in this regard.

In addition, both characters have the last name Chen, and the end of the previous book and the beginning of this book are published consecutively, so some readers always feel that they can't get rid of the impression of the previous book.

In fact, if you read it slowly, the difference between the characters is quite large.

The biggest difference is that Chen Yan is actually more indifferent than Chen Xiaogou in the previous book.

Chen Xiaogou is the kind of person who yearns for warmth.

Chen Yan is very cold in his bones... He doesn't want any warmth and family affection. The old lady is his only concern in this world. Apart from the old lady, he is actually a closed-minded person.

Because people are different after being hurt.

A person who grew up without a father or a mother and was raised by his grandmother will be discriminated against by the surrounding environment and the world from childhood to adulthood.

So, his heart is cold and he looks at the world with cold eyes.

So far, no one among the characters who have appeared has walked into his heart.

Gu Xiaoniang didn't, that was a cooperation of interests. Chen Yan helped Gu Xiaoniang complete the ghost marriage, and Gu Xiaoniang was his thigh.

Even if it was Lu Sisi, Chen Yan didn't really fall in love with this girl. It was just the natural attraction of young people to a beautiful opposite sex.

So, when the two were dating in the commercial street of Qixia Temple, Lu Sisi looked at Chen Yan with stars in her eyes, and Chen Yan...

His eyes were not on Lu Sisi.

Just like a young man who doesn't understand feelings, he just accidentally got close to a girl under the attraction of nature.

Love... This thing, for Chen Yan, has not sprouted yet.

The old lady taught him a lot, how to behave, etc.... but she couldn't teach him the thing of [feelings].

In this regard, Chen Xiaogou in the previous book is different.

Chen Yan is just an indifferent young man who has a little adventure. With curiosity and caution, he wants to find a way for himself little by little.

Gu Xiaoniang is not Lu Xixi, and Lu Sisi is not Sun Keke. Don't worry about this. I am still quite good at writing characters.
