Chapter 536 Tongtian River
At the same time, Patriarch Hongjun and Ao Changsheng were watching the conversation and behavior of the four masters and disciples in the sky.
After a while, Ao Changsheng said to Patriarch Hongjun:
"I specially arranged this disaster for them. Can they survive it safely?"
Ancestor Hongjun heard this and looked at Ao Changsheng with a smile and said:
"If they can't solve this kind of thing, then how can they help you complete this calamity?"
Hearing this, Ao Changsheng suddenly felt that what Ancestor Hongjun said made some sense, and then Ao Changsheng and Ancestor Hongjun continued to watch.
At the same time, Tang Xuanzang was shocked when he heard what Sun Wukong said. He was very sad in his heart and said in a choked voice:
"What should I do now? If even this little difficulty stops me, how can I have the nerve to see the Buddha?"
Upon hearing this, Sha Wujing quickly comforted Tang Xuanzang and said, "Master, don't be anxious. Do you see that there is a person in front of you?"
When Sun Wukong heard this, he quickly raised the Ruyi Golden Cudgel in his hand and said:
"If there is someone in front of me, then I will go and ask him to see if he knows where this is."
Sun Wukong and Ba then jumped over. It turned out that the person in front of him was not a person, but a stone slab with three big characters engraved on it and a circle of small characters in the middle.
The remaining small characters of Tongtian River were written on the stone tablet. It said that few people could cross Tongtian River within 800 miles.
Sun Wukong saw this and said quickly:
"Master, come here quickly, I already know where this is."
When Tang Xuanzang heard this, he was very surprised and ran over quickly. When he saw the words "Tongtian River", he felt a little sad.
"We have been walking for such a long time, and we were either tortured by the monster or troubled by the river along the way. It was really hard."
Zhu Bajie heard this and began to persuade Tang Xuanzang:
"Master, please don't say these depressing words. Do you think this family is cooking there? Let's go there and have a quick meal, and then come back tomorrow to see if there is a boat."
When Tang Xuanzang heard this, he listened carefully and found out that there really was a moment. His eyes lit up and he immediately walked forward. After a while, he came to a beach and saw a row of people living there.
Tang Xuanzang jumped off his horse and went to one of the houses on the roadside. He saw a flag hanging on the door and the inside was extremely desolate. When Tang Xuanzang saw this, he quickly said:
"Wukong, the people here are quite miserable. They are different from those across the street. Let's come here. Let me go there first and ask those old people."
"If they agree, we will all live in it. Don't come over yet. What if we scare the old man later?"
When Sun Wukong heard this, he immediately knew what Tang Xuanzang meant, nodded to Tang Xuanzang and said:
"Since you said so, master, you can go with peace of mind. We can just look after the luggage here."
When Tang Xuanzang heard this, he took off his hat and went to the door of the house with his head bare. After a while, he saw an old man appearing inside the door with a few Buddhist beads hanging around his neck. He was about to come and close the door. Tang Xuanzang When he saw this, he was very surprised and said quickly:
"Old man, it's so late. We might disturb you a little by coming here, but we still have to come over."
The old man glanced at Tang Xuanzang and said to Tang Xuanzang:
"You are already too late. We have nothing here now."
Tang Xuanzang looked at the old man with doubts after hearing this. After a while, the old man said slowly:
"There is nothing left now. If you had come earlier, the monks would be full if they stayed here, and you could give them some more things. But why did you come now?"
When Tang Xuanzang heard this, he suddenly understood and quickly said to the old man: "I am not here to eat."
"You're not here to eat, so what on earth are you doing here?"
The old man said to Tang Xuanzang with a puzzled look. At this time, the old man was very doubtful whether Tang Xuanzang was a monk.
After a short while, Tang Xuanzang slowly said to the old man:
"Old man, please don't worry. I came from the Tang Dynasty in Central China and went to the West to learn Buddhist scriptures. I passed by here and wanted to stay here for one night."
Tang Xuanzang had already told the old man the truth, but after the old man heard it, he no longer believed what Tang Xuanzang said and asked Tang Xuanzang:
"What you said is completely false. If you came from the Tang Dynasty, you would never be able to reach the West after such a long journey."
"And there are so many monsters along the way. You will definitely be eaten. How did you get here alone?"
Tang Xuanzang smiled and explained to the old man:
"That's why I came here because I had three apprentices with boundless power to protect me."
The old man put down a trace of doubt in his heart and continued to say to Tang Xuanzang:
"Since you have apprentices, why didn't you bring your apprentices up instead of leaving them there?"
"Since you said so, I'd better call them all over."
After Tang Xuanzang said this, he shouted to Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing at the door.
Sun Wukong was originally very anxious, and Zhu Bajie was also a little reckless. After the three of them heard what Tang Xuanzang said, they immediately came to their side. The old man was so frightened that he sat on the ground.
When Tang Xuanzang saw this, he immediately comforted the old man and said:
"Old man, please don't worry. Although these three people are not very good-looking, they are all my apprentices."
When the old man heard this, he patted his chest and said slowly to Tang Xuanzang:
"If this is the case, then let's bring them all in. I happen to have a few spare rooms here, and you can live in them."
Everyone entered the courtyard like robbers, leaving their horses behind and throwing away their luggage. They walked into the lobby and found several monks chanting sutras there. Zhu Bajie pouted and asked:
"What sutras are you monks reciting?"
When the monks heard this and saw Zhu Bajie's appearance, they were instantly frightened and ran away. When Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie saw this, they laughed loudly. The monks were even more frightened and ran away thinking about their own lives.
After Tang Xuanzang saw what Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie had done, he had no choice but to reprimand them:
"You guys are very unkind. I tell you every day to be friendly to others. Why are you still making random noises here if you are not friendly?"
"Look, you have scared away all the old man's friends."
