Chapter 361 Sorting: Gryffindor
The young wizard standing at the door had golden brown hair and an unusually pale complexion. When illuminated by light, it seemed that blue blood vessels could be faintly seen.
He was wearing a brand new black school robe with no extra decorations, and his posture looked a bit awkward.
Being looked at by many students and teachers, he did not show any timidity or embarrassment. Instead, he waved his hands generously and happily said to everyone: "Hello!"
Many Gryffindor students subconsciously waved along, the Hufflepuffs also showed friendly smiles, while the Snake House and the Eagle House were still observing.
Professor McGonagall frowned and glanced around. After the students calmed down, he said, "Follow me, Mr. Johnson."
The two walked to the front, where Filch placed a small stool, and Professor McGonagall took the Sorting Hat from Dumbledore.
Khalil already knew the sorting process from Professor McGonagall before he entered. He took the dirty hat, "tsk" in disgust, and then put it on his head.
The pointed hat twisted slightly on his head, seeming very embarrassed.
Time passed by, and Vader heard Ron Weasley mutter: "This hat won't malfunction, right? After all, it's been more than a thousand years..."
I don’t know if the Sorting Hat was trying to prove himself. Before Ron could finish his words, the Sorting Hat shouted: "Gryffindor!"
Suddenly, the Gryffindor table burst into warm applause. The Weasley twins slapped the table and shouted, "I knew it! He looks like a Gryffindor!"
Harry also applauded vigorously - he himself had been sorting for a long time, and he felt very close to the students who also gave the Sorting Hat difficult choices.
Khalil held on to the hat, as if he didn't know the sorting ceremony was over, until Professor McGonagall forcibly pulled the hat out of his hand.
"Oh, damn boy!" the Sorting Hat said angrily, "He almost tore me apart!"
Professor McGonagall suppressed her anger, not wanting to reprimand the new students on the first day, and said seriously: "Mr. Johnson, you can sit at the Gryffindor table!"
"Okay, Professor." Khalil replied pretending to be a good boy.
Professor McGonagall looked at him deeply, picked up her hat and stool and strode away.
Khalil found an empty seat and sat down, shaking hands with the nearby students. Before they could introduce each other, a sumptuous dinner appeared on the long table, with more varieties than usual.
The students cheered and ate happily.
Fred leaned out and took a piece of beef, and gloated to Khalil: "Well done, you provoked Professor McGonagall when you first came here - why didn't you let go of the Sorting Hat?"
"Just chatting with it." Khalil said with a smile: "This is the first time I have seen such a smart hat. It seems like it can see through people's brains."
Gryffindors didn't care about this topic.
Angelina said: "Hello, I'm Johnson too - Angelina Johnson. This is the first time I've seen a transfer student in Hogwarts for so long - which school are you in?"
"I came from America," Khalil said.
"Is it Ilvermorny?" Percy showed off his knowledge: "I heard that the school was modeled after Hogwarts and was divided into four houses. Which house are you from?"
"I didn't study in Ilvermorny." Khalil explained: "I studied with the teacher."
"Oh, master-disciple teaching? There are very few people who do this now..." Percy nodded clearly.
Harry asked Ron next to him softly: "In addition to Hogwarts, are there many magic schools?"
"Of course, we're not actually the only country, right?"
Ron counted: "I know that there is Ilvermorny in the United States, Beauxbatons in France, and Durmstrang in Scandinavia. They are all well-known magic schools."
"I know Durmstrang," said Harry. "I remember Malfoy wanted to go to that school."
"Yes, because they will teach dark magic..." Ron shook his head and said, "Even if you give me money, I will not go to that school."
"Dark magic..." Harry was stunned.
"There is also a Cass in Brazil... Castro or something." Ron couldn't remember, so he explained: "Bill has a pen pal in Brazil who graduated from that school."
"Castrobushe." Fred next to him corrected him, and then said: "Also, I heard that there is a Wagadu magic school in Africa. They are very good at self-transformation..."
The hot topic of discussion among the students turned to the world-famous magic schools. Harry's eyes were opened. It was the first time that he knew that there were so many schools different from Hogwarts.
Halfway through the meal, Khalil asked Fred beside him: "I know we are Gryffindor, but which table is Ravenclaw?"
Fred pointed behind him with his thumb: "The one next to it is the bronze and blue ones. The yellow and black ones are Hufflepuff, and the remaining one is the cunning Slytherin! They will I’m causing trouble for you for no reason, so remember to fight back hard!”
Khalil didn't listen carefully to what he said. He turned around and looked around the Ravenclaw table. The identical school robes seemed to blur the appearance of the person.
He asked again: "I heard that Wade Gray is in Ravenclaw. Where is he sitting?"
"Huh? Vader? Are you a fan of his?" Fred looked up and pointed, "He's sitting over there - the one with black hair."
Khalil looked over and finally found his target among the crowd.
Just at this moment, Wade seemed to sense their gaze and looked up, and the two met eyes.
After more than two years, both of them had grown up a lot, but their appearance had not changed much.
Then, Khalil raised his hand happily and shouted loudly: "Wade!"
Everyone looked over, but he completely ignored those eyes, picked up his plate, and walked through the aisle in the middle of the long table.
Michael raised his eyebrows, watching the transfer student walk over here with a plate, and said with a bright smile: "Long time no see!"
Wade glanced at the teacher's seat who was also paying attention to this side, exhaled silently, and said: "Long time no see."
Caryl looked at Michael and said to him: "Hello, can I change seats with you?"
Michael sneered: "No."
"Okay." Caryl was not disappointed, shrugged his shoulders, and asked the student on the other side: "Hello, can you change seats?"
It was a little boy in the lower grade. He was nervous because he sat next to Wade. He nodded immediately after hearing this, picked up his plate and ran to the end of the long table.
Then Caryl sat down at ease and took another piece of bread.
"To be honest, I thought Britain was a hell of food! I didn't expect the food at Hogwarts was not bad."
Caryl took a bite of the bread, and seeing that Wade was still staring at him, he asked bluntly: "Why do you look like this, Wade? Don't you welcome me? I missed you when I was in the United States!"
