Hogwarts: Voldemort, Don't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 222 Rumors and Transactions

Argus Filch, the caretaker of Hogwarts Castle, always took pleasure in catching students who misbehaved and was hated by most students.

His usually gloomy and stern face cracked out a smile for the first time. His sunken cheeks were lifted up, and the wrinkles at the corners of his eyes were criss-crossed, which made his smile look very strange.

The skinny Mrs. Norris squatted at his feet, her slender tail hooked on Filch's trouser leg, and her lightbulb-like eyes stared at Wade motionlessly.

Wade didn't show any strange expression, he nodded and said:

"Are you talking about cleaning crabs? They can indeed help with cleaning, but they are not as careful as house elves, so they may not get it too clean, and sometimes they will ignore some blind spots."

"It doesn't matter, it doesn't matter." Filch said happily: "As long as you can work... I wonder how much it will cost?"

he asked, holding the heavy bag of money.

Hogwarts provides food and housing all year round. Filch stays in school all day, and except for occasionally going out to buy wine, there is nothing to spend money on.

Therefore, although the salary offered to him by the school was not high, Filch still had a considerable amount of savings, and he was confident when he asked this question.

"The clean crab is not yet a finished product. If you need it, I will give you a cost price...one costs fifteen Silver Sickles." Wade said.

It was a very fair price, much better than Filch expected. He suddenly said with great wealth: "Then I will buy ten... no, twenty!"

Wade couldn't help laughing and said: "Not that many. This kind of crab has not been mass-produced yet, and there are only seven of them made by myself. Well... I will keep one, and I can sell the remaining six to you."

"Uh...okay."

Filch said slightly disappointed. But he still felt happy when he thought that most of the troublesome cleaning work in the future could be left to those crabs.

"Follow me." Wade said, "I put all the cleaning crabs in the activity room."

The two walked up the stairs. Filch started to talk more as he felt better.

"I'm so sick of it...frog brains, rat guts, and slug slime...those little devils are always leaving these things everywhere..."

Filch couldn't help complaining, and then told Wade:

"Of course, you're the exception, kid. I know you've never left dirt everywhere... and those Quidditch guys who put mud everywhere..."

When the students passing by in the corridor saw someone walking with Filch, they thought he had been caught by the administrator, so they hid aside and looked at Wade with sympathetic eyes.

There were several enthusiastic students from the lower grades who hurriedly ran to inform other people in SSC.

"It's not good, it's not good!"

The little girl held Padma's hand and said in panic: "Filch caught Vader Gray, and he's here to catch you!"

"What!"

Padma was shocked and ran back to the umbrella house first. Seeing that most people were there, she hurriedly told them the news.

Everyone was shocked and said: "Why does he arrest people?!"

"Has the last fight been exposed?" Theo asked worriedly.

"I'm sure Malfoy's people are complaining behind his back!" Harry said firmly.

"He can't just arrest people!" Padma stamped her foot: "I'm going to find Professor Flitwick!"

She opened the door and ran away in a hurry. Hermione scratched her face and said in a high voice: "It is not against school rules for us to form a club! I have memorized all the school rules!"

"Come on, Hermione, we've broken more school rules than we can count!"

Fred clapped his hands hard and said loudly: "What are you doing standing there?! Pack your things and run!"

Everyone jumped up as if they had just woken up from a dream, hurriedly packed up things they thought might violate the rules, and rushed out of the umbrella house holding their schoolbags.

The corridor was quiet, and there was no sign of any pursuers lurking in ambush.

Panting, they hid their things in a nearby empty classroom, but they were worried and turned around and slipped back like ordinary students.

"—Did you hear that? Vader Gray was captured."

"By whom?"

"Filch."

"I don't know what school rules he violated..."

Rumors spread among the students faster than the flu.

It's not unusual for the Weasley twins to be caught, and it's not uncommon for Gryffindors like Harry and Hermione to be caught, but it seems unusual for Wade Gray, an top student and a Ravenclaw, to be caught. To be the "leading party" is too strange.

Then Wade discovered that there seemed to be a lot of students in the corridor today, and they were all secretly looking at him. But after he looked over, everyone avoided their eyes.

There were also some familiar classmates who looked at him with complicated eyes.

Someone winked at him - 'What's going on? Need help? ’

Some people secretly took out various prank props, seemingly preparing to hit Filch next to him to create a chance for him to escape.

Wade quickly thought of the reason, and suddenly felt dumbfounded. He shook his head at some people to signal them not to cause trouble.

But Filch didn't understand why there were more and more students in sight. It seemed like all the students in the school were running into the corridor. He stared at some people fiercely, ready to grab their pigtails at any moment.

The two of them soon arrived at the umbrella house. The students watched from a distance at the end of the corridor. They saw that Wade successfully opened the door, but Filch stood at the door and did not go in.

Even Mrs. Norris squatted obediently beside him, without the usual arrogance.

A string of question marks popped up over the students' heads.

Until they saw Wade carrying a few clean crabs out and handing them to Filch, and then the administrator counted a few gold galleons and silver Sickles and handed them to Wade, and happily carried the crabs away.

Everyone suddenly realized, and then they felt a kind of emotion that was hard to tell whether it was resentment or disappointment.

The sound of footsteps came, and Professor Flitwick was almost pulled by Padma to fly, and kept shouting:

"Slow down... Oh, Merlin, don't run so fast... What happened?"

The first girl who spread the rumor shrank her neck and slipped away quietly.
