Buddhism and Taoism, it's that simple.

These are two different things, and they must be clearly distinguished.

Even if you talk about Buddhism and Taoism, it is impossible to talk about them separately. Hundreds of thousands of words are not enough.

To be precise, Buddhism should be the Buddhist School. All Buddhist sects and even cultures related to Buddhism can be called the Buddhist School.

The same is true for Taoism. Those who explain Taoist culture, those who study the history of Taoist culture, those who practice the principles of Taoism, and those who practice Taoist theories can all be called Taoists.

Whether it is Buddhism or Taoism, both include religion, but not only religion.

You must distinguish the difference between Taoism, Taoism, and Taoism.

Here I can only briefly talk about the beliefs of the Chinese. Buddhism was introduced in the Han Dynasty. Although its influence has become increasingly greater, it is not the belief of the Chinese.

Whether it is Haotian or Taiyi, they don’t count. Whether it is the Three Sovereigns or the Five Emperors, they all believe in people and worship their ancestors.

So some people say that the Chinese do not believe in gods, but in ancestors.

This is right and wrong.

In the final analysis, this is still the appearance of humanistic thinking. Because we value people, we regard people as gods.

Hidden behind this is actually another belief, that is Taoism.

From ancient times to the present, we actually believe in Taoism. Whether it is the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, Haotian Taiyi, or the gods and Buddhas of the heavens, it is because they embody the one-sidedness of Taoism that people accept them.

This is not called belief, this is called acceptance.

The essential difference between us and the West is here. Westerners always say that we have no faith. The reason is that we can accept various gods.

The reason why we can tolerate various religions is also here, because we can accept... Gods with "reason".

Do you understand? We are a nation that speaks of reason.

Everyone always mentions speaking of "reason" when they open their mouths, but they don't know the connotation.

Because we really believe in Taoism too much, and our belief has been integrated into our souls, bones, and blood. Our belief in Taoism is deeply rooted. It has been passed down from ancient times to the present, so that... we have forgotten that we have faith, we believe in "Taoism".

"Why are you unreasonable?", "We should do this and that", "I am reasonable, so what am I afraid of?", "This thing is unreasonable!"

All these colloquialisms that we have become accustomed to are because we believe in the "Tao" unconsciously, imperceptibly, and without knowing the true face of Mount Lu.

Some Buddhist practitioners in our country, if you ask them what they believe in, they will definitely say that they believe in Buddha.

If you ask them why, they will say that Buddha is this and that.

Behind this, the hidden belief that he himself does not know is actually because the Buddhist proposition is very reasonable.

He believes in this reason, not this Buddha.

However, Western religions are different. Those who believe in Allah can dedicate everything for the Lord. No matter whether what they are asked to do is reasonable or not, they will do it, because God is the reason of all things. God thinks that it is reasonable, so it is reasonable.

The condition of "God said" is the reason of this matter. Therefore, those who truly believe in God do not need to think about whether it is reasonable or not, just do it.

So correspondingly, we find that we also have faith.

It's just that the Westerners call that faith "Lord", and we call it "Tao".

The Lord of Westerners has a specific personality.

Our Tao has no specific personality.

They listen to the Lord's words, and we listen to the Tao's principles.

Their Lord has a specific personality, so what they listen to is called an oracle. Our Tao has no specific image, so what we say is called reason.

Our faith has no specific image, so the interpretation and explanation of Tao in every dynasty will form gods.

You can understand that what we believe in is the natural law and the heavenly law.

It is a kind of thing that encompasses everything and everything is its appearance.

Laozi did not create gods, he just described Tao and gave it a name... I don't know its name, so I force it to be called Tao.

Tao existed before Laozi, and people had already begun to believe in it. Laozi did not invent it, he just gave it a name and summarized it.

The reason why we believe in the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors is because the actions of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors are in line with Tao.

The reason for worshipping Dayu is that what Dayu did is in line with the invisible Tao in people's hearts.

It was because everyone collectively believed that he was a practitioner of Tao that Dayu became a god.

The reason for worshipping Guan Yu is that his actions were in line with the invisible Tao in people's hearts.

Why do we have so many gods, and they are all human beings? This is the reason.

It is because everyone collectively creates gods, and everyone unanimously believes that: "Human heart is destiny."

So what conforms to everyone's human heart is in line with the Tao, at least in some aspect.

And if it conforms to some aspect of the Tao, he is God.

So in every era, we are constantly creating gods, and gods are extremely cheap, because gods are just practitioners of the Tao, angels of the Tao.

This is essentially the same as the West constantly creating new angels and incorporating the gods of conquered nations into the angel system or the demon system.

There is only one God, but there are many angels.

And we have only one Tao, but there are many gods...

So, we really have faith, and we are actually a "monotheism."

It's just that this "God" is too illusory, so it's just a word: Tao.

"Eh? Your Buddha makes a lot of sense, I accept it, I recognize you as an angel of the Tao." So this person joined Buddhism.

Is he really a Buddhist believer? If he can abandon everything given to him by the country, the nation, and the society for the sake of Buddha, then he is a true believer in Buddha.

On the contrary, he abandoned Buddha. Then he still believes in Taoism, because Buddha asked him to abandon those benefits, and he felt that it was "unreasonable"!

If it is unreasonable, he will question it, and this person will turn around and abandon Buddha.

So what does he believe in? Buddha or Taoism?

A Chinese who abandoned Buddha and God for the sake of benefits was scolded as being impious.

But in fact, this is piety to "Taoism".

He is so pious that he has integrated it into the depths of his soul without knowing it. He felt that Buddha and God were unreasonable, so he abandoned them, it's that simple.

I don't know when this kind of thought appeared.

I only know that the first person who popularized this thought to everyone was the Black Emperor Zhuanxu.

So I admire him very much. Zhuanxu was the first preacher.

He laid the foundation for this humanistic thought rooted in the depths of the nation.

Extract this essence. If you still don’t understand, I can only translate Western beliefs in a different way.

Actually, we translated it wrong. Western God should not be translated as God. In the eyes of Western believers, it is equivalent to our Tao.

It’s just that this Tao has thoughts and subjective behaviors. In our Chinese hearts, we instinctively think that it is only one side of Tao, but this one side seems a bit too awesome, so we translated it into God, corresponding to our equally awesome Haotian God.

And all angels, all saints, all people who follow the invisible God’s principles and contribute to civilization. They should be translated into God.

If we translated Western religions like this back then.

We would suddenly realize that, oh, we also have ‘monotheism’, we believe in Tao.

Tao is the destiny of heaven, Tao is the human heart. It has never fallen into a specific image, it has never been downgraded to God, so we have all forgotten it.

But we haven’t forgotten it. Tao has just been integrated into the depths of our nation’s soul, and we have become part of Tao.

Huangdi acted on behalf of heaven, tolerated all tribes, and ruled the world with gods. This is the way of heaven.

Zhuanxu separated the earth and heaven, separated people and gods, and ruled the world with people, which is the way of man.

The Zhou emperor granted the world a great fiefdom, separated the kings and princes, and ruled the world with rites, which is the way of the king.

Duke Huan of Qi united the princes for nine times, unified the world, respected the king and expelled the barbarians, which is the way of hegemony.

Qin Shihuang swept across the world, centralized power, and ruled the world with laws, which is the way of the emperor.

Mao...

Forget it, in short, since ancient times, all humanities, theories, and methods of thought, any skills of our nation, in the final analysis, are four levels.

Tao, reason, law, and technique.

Tao is the greatest, followed by reason, and then law, and the most superficial is technique.

Everything is like this, Tao is the highest, the greatest, the most original, and the most essential.

Among the hundreds of schools of thought, Laozi, Confucius, Mozi, etc. stand at the highest level, and they talk about reason.

Some of the hundreds of schools, including some wise ministers and famous ministers who advise the emperor, talk about methods.

Later, Taoism appeared. Ge Hong and other alchemists who sought immortality were the farthest from Taoism. What about refining essence, practicing qi, and condensing elixir? They were all about techniques.

Of course, each has its own advantages and focuses.

What we are vigorously developing now is "technique", and the various policies, strategies and systems of the country are "laws".

And why do we do this? Because the "reason" for doing so teaches us that if we do so, we will eventually be able to revive and make everyone live better.

So what is Taoism? Taoism is this era.

The way of heaven is independent and unchanging. It is the law of nature. The way of man is chaotic and easy. It is the change of the times.

What is "easy"? It is always changing, and only keeps pace with the times.

We develop techniques, we formulate laws, and we follow principles. The reason for doing so is, in the final analysis, because Taoism has changed the era from what it was before to what it is now.

The times have changed!

In this era, if you don't do this, you will sink. Only when the techniques, laws and principles are done well, are clear, and are changed to conform to this era can you live a better life.

Taoism has changed the times, so our policies, systems, and phalanxes must change accordingly.

Only by following the Tao and changing with the times can civilization be passed on.

Otherwise, civilization will decline.

When you ask questions, please be more detailed. If you ask me to talk about Taoism, what should I talk about?

Am I Yuanshi Tianzun? Am I a god-level civilization with a full technology tree and a unified universe model? Why should I talk about Taoism?

What is the Tao? Is it the Taoism of the Tao, or the Taoism of the Tao, or the classics and history of the Taoism of the Tao, or the development and rise and fall of the Taoism of the Tao?

It's like asking me to talk about mythology, where should I start? Is it about Nuwa mending the sky, or Pangu creating the sky, or Norse mythology, or the Old Testament, I have to make it clear.

If I were to explain the Tao clearly, sort out the main differentiation and derivation, as well as the social relations and historical development, and explain it to you clearly, I'm sorry, that's not called a special chapter, that's called publishing a book.

That's called establishing words.

The ancients said that establishing virtue, establishing words, and establishing merit are the three immortals.

I need to prepare at least three to five years, or even ten to twenty years, and have enough food and drink, to settle down, sort out, and study, so that I can expand and connect some of my ideas and write a book that I personally understand and expounds on the Tao.

However, I don't have the time or the financial support to sort this stuff out.

So I can only talk about a few small things, extract some concise and concise truths, and explain them so that you can show off.

After you read Gun and Yu's flood control, when you talk to others in the future, and others say how awesome Dayu is, you can stand out from the crowd and say: In fact, Gun is also a person who is really worthy of praise, and Dayu is standing on the shoulders of giants, and then tell him how this and that.

This is pretending.

After you read this article, if someone says that Chinese people have no faith, you can tell him that Chinese people believe in Taoism. If he is not convinced, saying that there are fewer people who believe in Taoism than those who believe in Buddhism, what basis do you have to say that Chinese people believe in Taoism. You can refute him: You think what I said is unreasonable, but you are already believing in Taoism, but you don't realize it yourself.

Then tell him the difference between Taoism, Taoism, and Taoism.

Haha, just kidding, there is no one who has obtained the Tao in the world.

There are many Taoists. Scientists are also Taoists. The biggest feature of Tao is that it is independent and unchanging. What does not change? That is "Yi", which means change does not change.

In layman's terms, the unchanging part of Tao is that it is always changing.

One origin does not change, and the rest are changing, this is Tao.

Everything in the universe is changing, customs and times are changing, only Tao does not change, but this change and unchanging itself is also Tao.

The laws of nature do not change, but all matter and energy are changing, and all changes are inseparable from the essence, conservation and order, this is the foundation of physics.

Science is a mode of thinking, not a kind of knowledge.

So scientists are also seekers of Tao.

It's just that the times have changed, so this era has its own way of seeking Tao. Following several basic logical ‘principles’, we come up with several ‘methods’ and use several ‘techniques’ to seek ‘Tao’.

Still not out of Tao, principle, method and technique.

One day, a unified model of the universe is established, physics will be ‘proven’, and the scientist, and even all of us, will ‘attain Tao’.

But perhaps, it is only one side of Tao, its physical side.

Some people always say that Lao Tzu is so great, he mentioned science a long time ago, and many contents of his Tao Te Ching can be verified with modern science.

Nonsense! Lao Tzu just described Tao, and Tao does not change, only the appearance changes.

Times change, then the way of expression and exploration changes. This is one of the basic rules of Tao: Yi.

One day, the material world is no longer ‘easy’, that is, entropy increases to the top, and the universe is in heat death.

It is not Lao Tzu who mentioned science, but science responds to Tao.

The origin of Tao does not change, and its character is ‘natural’. The rest of the things are ‘natural’.

That's why they look so similar, because they have become just "reason", "law" and "technique".

Science can verify the content of Tao Te Ching, which can only mean that the reason, law and technique of science are correct.

Tao has never changed.

Can you understand this logic?

Tao, and reason, law and technique.

The relationship between natural law, law, theory and technology.

They are all... natural and natural.

Taoists seek Tao, respect reason, make laws and do techniques.

Scientists seek truth, respect laws, establish theories and do technology, and they are also Taoists.

It's a pity that some superstitious Taoists who only seek longevity or even just make a living have confused and polluted the concept of Taoists.

So it's not appropriate to use the word "Taoist". It's better to use "seeker of Tao" to describe physicists.

Times will change, brothers, one day, the word "scientist" will also become polluted and contain some derogatory meanings, with both positive and negative, praise and criticism, respected and despised. Physicists are still new things for now, with only a few hundred years of history, but one day, they will also decay and not adapt to the times.

As long as they are within the scope of reason, law and magic, one day they will become, adapt to the times or be eliminated.

By then, there may be a brand new profession that respects reason, makes laws, and practices magic, and continues to seek the Tao in a brand new way in a brand new era.

Physics will die, and new sciences will stand up. Taoists will decline, and new "Taoists" and "seekers of Tao" will be born.

This itself is Tao.

Everything will change, but Tao will not change, this is... the principle of Tao.

In the Tao, there is this principle called Yi.

Because the gods of the West have specific images and definitions, they are forced to be described from an unknown state to a known state, so it is not easy to adapt to the times. They are too rigid and are eventually defeated and knocked down by physics.

But the Tao we believe in will never be knocked down. There is no concept of being knocked down at all. We don’t know what it is. It is still unknown.

So science can never defeat Tao. They are even tolerated. They are also seekers of Tao.

It is not Tao that is defeated, but Taoism, Taoism, and us. Only people can fail, and Tao will last forever.

With change, there will be rise and fall, life and death, existence and non-existence. Only people, only things, and everything that is not Tao will decline or rise because of constant changes. This is called natural.

The Tao itself is unchangeable, invisible and intangible, unknown, unknown and independent, so it is invincible, immortal, and eternal.

Lao Tzu saw the "doing nothing but doing everything" of Tao.

The Tao itself does not move, but everything moves. All particles in the universe are changing, which is called "doing", but the laws of nature have not changed, and they are even invisible and immaterial, which is called "nothingness".

So Tao seems to do nothing, but it does everything.

The essence of this sentence is that no matter how things change, they will not deviate from the original.

To translate it in a popular way, it means to grasp nature, and then it will be natural.

Doing nothing is not doing nothing, but grasping the root.

Follow nature, be at the node of nature, don't do it deliberately, just right, and it will be natural and you will be successful.

By extension, those who can really do "doing nothing and doing everything" are the editors of laws.

In fact, people can only do "doing less and doing everything", which is the weapon of causality.

For example, if I can do it, then I stand on the mountain and pour a glass of water. Okay, don't do more, don't pour too much water, don't pour too little water, just right, and grasp the clever node of nature.

Therefore, because of this glass of water, a series of natural effects, like a chain reaction of dominoes, eventually the United States experienced a huge storm, unprecedented in history, with countless casualties.

This is... doing nothing but doing everything... a kind of, or one-sided aspect. That is the legendary, calling the wind and rain.

Do you understand? So science is not out of this scope.

If physicists "get the Tao", create weather weapons, grasp the nodes of the chaotic effect, do something "just right" somewhere, and disturb the natural system, they can call the wind and rain.

In fact, it has been done now, artificial rainfall is just doing more, and it is still in the stage of "doing".

No matter how strong people are, no matter how advanced science is, they can only do "less".

Only Tao itself can achieve complete "doing nothing". Because all things in the world follow the Tao, so Tao does not need to move, does not need to do anything, the rules are there, and the universe does it consciously.

Lao Tzu saw clearly that Tao does nothing but does everything.

So we advocate doing nothing, because this is the highest realm.

But in fact, people cannot reach the highest realm. At least now, it seems that we cannot become rule editors.

If we can, then we will be "attained".

Exploring the Tao is called seeking the Tao. If we can understand the Tao, follow the principles in it, and influence nature appropriately, it is called "attaining the Tao".

The real inaction and doing everything is "attaining the Tao".

Or in harmony with the Tao.

This is the highest realm. Lao Tzu said that inaction and doing everything is talking about the "Tao" itself. Using this to demand ourselves is only an ideal goal.

In fact, as long as we can achieve "less action and doing everything", we will be very happy and powerful.

If people really want to achieve the highest realm of inaction, what I can imagine is entering the virtual universe? Isn't this becoming a Buddha?

We create a virtual world, and we are the rules in it.

My heart is the Tao, my mind is the reason, my words are the law, and my behavior is the art.

Becoming the Tao of the virtual universe is the highest realm of "emptiness".

Lao Tzu said inaction, pointing out the highest realm of Tao.

But we are not Tao, we are just human beings, and human power is limited.

So what is the highest realm that humans can achieve? It is ‘emptiness’.

So Buddha found a second-best, slightly lower ‘harmony with Tao’.

Tao is the Tao of our universe, but Buddha lowered himself by one dimension and sought the supreme through emptiness.

To put it bluntly, living in the world of one’s own fantasy, controlling the ‘rules’ that are originally one level lower than oneself, hahahaha.

So Buddha has a country in his palm, and the world is full of everything.

Buddha, the awakened one, is the highest realm of enlightenment. Awakening of the heart, awakening of others, and awakening of actions.

What have you awakened to? We who have awakened to the real world cannot become the rule maker, because that rule maker has already existed. Since the existence of this world, the Tao has existed.

The position has been taken. We are not at the same level as the real Tao. We are just ordinary people, just bubbles in this dreamlike world.

We cannot become the master of our own world against the will of heaven, so what can we do?

What else can we do? We also create a universe, and we become the rules and controllers of the next universe.

The sea of ​​suffering is endless, and turning back is the shore. We have no share in the highest realm of reality. Even if we have obtained all the truths, we can only watch and follow them.

Unless, we enter the virtual world and give up this stinking skin!

Turn your thoughts into the virtual world and control the Buddha's kingdom.

Buddha, the enlightened one, the kingdom of the enlightened is the Pure Land.

When we get out of the sea of ​​suffering in reality, we will realize and realize the unattainable nature of the real universe, and then turn back and enter the virtual universe that is completely created for us and follows our will. This is bliss.

There is a virtual sandbox game universe in the palm of your hand, a vast world, and you can create it at will. Isn't it bliss?

So Taoism talks about transcendence, transcending upward.

Buddhism talks about enlightenment, turning back is the shore... If we can't go up, we will transcend downward...

These are the two paths of a civilization.

When technology reaches a certain level, will we indulge in the infinitely beautiful virtual world brought by technology, or even completely give up the stinky skin, turn our thoughts into virtuality, and become a blissful spiritual civilization.

Or continue to explore, chase the unknown in this universe, and seek the "Tao" that we may never find.

In the end, should we become a seeker of the Tao in the sea of ​​suffering, or an enlightened person who escapes from the sea of ​​suffering.

Different people have different opinions.

Our civilization, no matter where it goes, will eventually make its own choice.
