Chapter 2097 Knight's Night of Terror (Forty-One)
Chapter 2071 Knight's Night (Forty-one)
Bruce saw Jason again on the balcony on the top floor of a hotel in Washington, DC.
He was not wearing the Arkham Knight armor, nor any mask or hood, but just a jacket. He opened the balcony door of the hotel suite where Batman was staying, and a gust of cold air rushed in.
At this time, Bruce had just taken off his suit jacket, unbuttoned his shirt, and was about to change into pajamas. He needed a full rest, and tomorrow would be a tough battle.
Jason stood in front of the window and looked at him, then lowered his eyes and threw a pile of information on the sofa next to him.
Bruce had an extremely urgent urge to walk over, but he restrained himself and stood by the clothes rack looking at Jason.
Jason lowered his head and said, "I said I'm not sick."
But Bruce didn't ask questions like "Is the treatment ineffective?" because even if he didn't use Batman's ability to look carefully, he could see that Jason was much better.
The young man put his jacket on the back of the sofa next to him, then threw himself into the soft sofa, put his arm on the back of the sofa, turned his head back to look at Bruce and said, "How much did you pay that Schiller?"
"At least it's worth it." Bruce commented.
Jason understood his avoidance and just stared at him closely. Bruce paused in unbuttoning his cuffs, walked towards the bathroom next to him and said, "I need to rest, the assistant will arrange a room for you next door."
Jason was not so polite to send him off, but he rarely questioned him angrily. He sat on the sofa silently and stared at Bruce's actions until he turned around and disappeared behind the screen at the door of the bathroom.
Bruce walked to the washbasin and finished unbuttoning his cuffs. He saw a trace of blood on the edge of the bandage wrapped around his arm in his sleeve.
Bruce took out the medical bag from the drawer below. As soon as he unzipped it, he saw a black shadow covering the ground in front of him. When he turned around, Jason was standing at the door looking at him.
This is really not good news, Bruce thought. He still prefers the old irritable alarm clock. Why did Schiller teach him to walk silently?
Jason stared at Bruce's arms with a cold face. In fact, it was Bruce's two arms. The left arm was injured, but it looked like it was almost healed, but the wound on the right arm was fresh.
And from the surgical knowledge Jason just learned, it was not caused by an accident, nor was it cut by others. The direction and force of the cut showed that it was cut by Bruce himself.
"Next time I will remember to always have a syringe." Bruce's thoughts were still jumping. He turned his head back and turned on the faucet to wash his hands.
Jason walked forward and tried to reach out to pull Bruce's arm, but Bruce stepped back and said, "No, Jason, there's nothing to see. I want to change the medicine."
"You gave him your blood." Jason still stared at Bruce with cold eyes and said, "He is studying the Joker virus, so he needs to analyze the components of your blood."
"I didn't know you had such medical knowledge." It was still nonsense. Bruce looked like he wanted to fool around.
"You didn't fail to prepare a syringe." Jason's tone was filled with anger. He said, "You did it on purpose. You wanted to get hurt and bleed in this way, Batman, why?"
Bruce's Adam's apple moved.
The muscles in his lips moved in a way that was difficult to describe. The reason why it was difficult to describe was that after the muscles in a normal person's mouth experienced such an activity, a word would inevitably come out of his mouth, but Bruce didn't.
He took a very long time to complete all the pre-swinging movements of speaking, but in the end he said nothing.
Jason was not willing to give up, so Bruce had only one way left, that is to use Batman's deterrence.
"This has nothing to do with you, Jason, get out of here." As he said this, his facial muscles changed in an instant, no longer the slightly smooth businessman, but the dark knight who could bring fear to everyone.
At this moment, Batman suddenly found that Jason was immune to his deterrence.
"Seriously, Batman, is this all you have?" He even had the energy to sneer, "You put on a serious face, make a serious expression, and ask others to leave in an impolite tone. It's really lame."
Batman found that he was scolded.
Of course, it's not that he hadn't been scolded before. There were too many people scolding him. In Arkham Asylum alone, the words he said to scold him could be engraved on the wall of an academic paper.
But if he remembered correctly, it was also possible that, or perhaps it was about the same, this was the first time he was scolded by his own Robin.
Batman admitted that his brain crashed for a moment.
"You are the one being rude now, Jason, get out."
"No."
Good, in the past, whenever they argued to this point, one of them would turn around and leave, usually Jason Todd, because after all, the place where they argued was called the Bat Cave, not the Mockingbird Cave.
But now Jason had no intention of leaving. He leaned against the bathroom door with his arms folded, staring at Bruce coldly.
Bruce decided to leave by himself, but the biggest problem now was that the door of the hotel bathroom was unlikely to be large enough for two 200-pound people to enter and exit in parallel, and even if he turned sideways, it would not work. This strongest Robin bird he had raised blocked the door tightly.
First of all, he couldn't fight with Jason here, because he bet that the entire corridor outside the door was full of FBI people. The conversation with the FBI director just now was not pleasant, and Bruce would not choose to give the agents a handle.
Secondly, he recalled that he was a little impatient when he turned around and walked to the bathroom, so he couldn't subdue Jason in a breath without a bat dart with electric shock and anesthesia functions.
Then there was only one way left, to find a way to persuade Jason to get out of the way.
But Batman didn't even have the rest of the fight.
He didn't even think about how to continue the topic after he lost his deterrence in front of Robin. He was really not good at this.
"You must be thinking about how to get out of here." Jason snorted coldly and said, "But I won't let you go unless you answer my question. You don't want me to believe that there are questions in this world that Batman can't answer, right?"
For the first time, Batman felt that the call of one of his birds was so unpleasant. Jason was too unpleasant to listen to.
But he only thought about this sentence in his heart, because he knew that if he said this sentence, Jason would let him know what it meant to speak unpleasantly.
Gotham thugs have never been good at being weird. Batman felt that Jason should be trying to restrain himself, and he must not give him the opportunity to swear.
He suddenly found that he couldn't accept his Robin swearing at him from the bottom of his heart, even with interjections.
So Batman rarely showed an attacking posture.
But Jason laughed and said, "You are going to solve the problem with violence, Batman, you will have this day too, I said you will have this day."
Batman responded with a fist as big as a sandbag.
Three minutes later, Jason squatted in front of the TV in the hotel suite, using the reflection of the TV screen to apply medicine to his cheekbones and eye sockets, while Bruce sat on the sofa and bandaged his arm.
"I will tell Alfred all this, Jason." Bruce said, "Your performance today will make you lose the last snack immunity."
"And Alfred will definitely stand firmly on my side." Jason said without looking back, "I will tell him that the reason I was captured and locked up by the Joker was because we had a quarrel, and you didn't want to give in to me at all."
"Don't talk nonsense, Jason."
"Are you scared, huh?" Jason knelt on the ground, turned his head and looked at Bruce and said, "I will also tell him that we had another quarrel today and you punched me."
"My hand is injured."
"Yes, so I will apply more iodine to make it look more serious. Who will lose the snack immunity?"
Bruce pursed his lips, and his lips were almost invisible.
Jason turned his body completely around. When he knelt on the ground, he did not show his strong body, which reminded Batman of Jason's youth when he was Robin.
At that time, he was still a nimble and agile bird, not known for his strength, but children always grow up quickly. Judging from the feeling of the punch just now, Jason should be heavier than him.
Bruce felt a trace of indescribable emotions wandering back and forth between his heart and chest, so he stopped his hand and looked down at Jason.
"You just don't want to give me an answer, right?"
"Don't be like this, Jason."
This was the last sentence of rejection Bruce felt he could say. He quickly stood up and walked away angrily as usual, and even beat up the FBI agent at the door.
Bruce would allow him to do this, and even allow him to knock them all down, hang them outside the building, and if they fell, it would be their bad luck. This is the 18th floor...
Not good, Jason Todd did not respond.
Bruce found that Jason seemed no longer as irritable as usual, which made everything they were experiencing now completely new.
And Batman never won a battle.
"You cut your arm with a batarang, which is longer and deeper than the one in the battle. Why, Batman?"
He really should leave the nest, this giant cuckoo bird, Bruce found himself very angry, Jason not only wanted to kick all the other chicks out of the nest, but also wanted to kick himself out, kick him out tomorrow.
And Jason was still staring at him and repeated it again.
"Tell me why, Batman."
That's enough. Bruce took a deep breath.
What did that damn psychiatrist treat?
He wanted his robin, even if it was a cardinal, but not this one... a hawk, or some other raptor, anyway, it looked like it could feed on bats.
Peter Parker's internship salary was gone.
This was the greatest resistance Bruce could offer.
Then the emotions that were lingering in his heart finally stopped in his throat, and he spoke with a tremor that he couldn't even explain.
"...I didn't find you, Jason."
