Chapter 1579 The Meaning of Death
Undoubtedly, both Ivan and Harry have a lot to say to Dumbledore, but they don't know how to express it.
Those were some extraordinarily difficult words for anyone, and an inexplicable sadness filled the three. Facing the sudden news, the two of them have many things to confirm with Dumbledore, the most difficult of all things is whether Dumbledore can not die!
Even if he explained, this is not death in the true sense, but magic.
Death is an essential element of this unrivaled spell, in the same sense as the actions that must be performed to use the materials, spells, or wands used to cast them. Without reading too much into it, death doesn't mean much here than the shaking of a wand.
But life itself has endowed the word "death" with more distinctive meanings.
Nobody feels easy in the face of death.
The same is true for Ivan and Harry. It is impossible for them to remain indifferent, as if nothing happened, and tell Dumbledore to die in peace and go back early...
Compared with Harry, Ivan may think more and be more rational.
If Dumbledore's departure is already doomed to happen, then it cannot be changed. What they need now is not to lament in vain, but to think about how to use this matter to a greater extent to make the unfavorable situation right. They are favorable.
For example, let Voldemort think that Dumbledore is really dead!
Or go further, according to Dumbledore's script, let Voldemort think that Dumbledore was killed by Draco Malfoy or Snape.
Come to think of it, Voldemort, who learned of Dumbledore's death, would become ecstatic, and he would not give up any chance to make him stronger.
Since the last duel with Harry, he should have realized that something was wrong with his wand, and he should have started to investigate the secret of the Elder Wand!
Aiwen had to admit that letting things develop according to the original plan seemed to be the best result, and this matter was highly feasible. This was originally an event he tried his best to avoid, but now it seems that it must happen! He wants to help Dumbledore complete the script.
After explaining everything, Dumbledore seemed to have exhausted all his strength.
He looked extremely weak, and he didn't say much on the way back.
In fact, at one point he passed out on the way.
If it wasn't for sure that he was still breathing, Ivan might have thought he was dead.
Ivan never thought that Dumbledore would look like this.
The mighty wizard has reached the end of his life, and he is now waiting for death!
Ivan still remembers the last conversation between him and Dumbledore on the tower of Azkaban.
"Professor, are you ready to face death?"
"Of course, I just need to make more sense of it now," said Dumbledore lightly, "Death isn't scary, Alvin, it's actually like going to bed at last after a long day. And, to the sane, death is but another great adventure. We should meet Death as old friends meet, and go away gladly with him as equals."
"Then will you come back then?"
"Maybe, I might choose to keep going."
"We will miss you, Hogwarts cannot live without a headmaster."
"Hogwarts can continue for thousands of years because of the will it inherits, inherited from the unique qualities of the four founders, not because of a specific wizard." Dumbledore said slowly, closing his eyes, "We I will win in the end, Ivan, I am too tired, let me rest for a while now, there are still many things to do."
About ten minutes later, Ivan, Harry, and Dumbledore returned to the dark road in Hogsmeade Village. The warm summer wind hit their faces, and the thick fog and the smell of the sea disappeared. She was extremely embarrassed, and her clothes were dripping with water.
There was silence all around, and the night was very dark.
In the distance, a few street lamps and a few lit upstairs windows were the only sources of light.
"Wake up, professor, we're back!" Ivan took a deep breath and said.
"Go back to the castle...Remember, what I need is...Professor Snape..." Dumbledore opened his eyes, his condition was far from better than before, "Bring Severus..."
"We'll take you back now and help the professor, Harry!" Ivan said, and the two of them had just helped Dumbledore out of the alley when they heard footsteps.
Madame Rosmerta ran toward them down the dark street in plush high-heeled slippers and a silk dressing gown embroidered with dragons.
Ivan pointed the wand at her, paused slightly, and put it down again.
"I saw you apparating when I drew the bedroom curtains just now! Thank goodness, thank goodness, I don't know what to... Hey, what's going on with Albus?" She stopped, her eyes widened, and she looked down at the Dumbledore.
"He's hurt," Alvin said.
"There's been an accident, and we're going back to Hogwarts." Harry continued, "Mrs. Rosmerta, can you please..."
"No, you can't go back to Hogwarts now." Madam Rosmerta said quickly, "Didn't you find out, didn't you see it?"
"See what? Rosmerta, what happened?" Dumbledore looked up.
"Dark, Dark Mark, Albus." She pointed to the sky in the direction of Hogwarts.
Ivan, Harry, and Dumbledore looked around, and it was indeed there, hanging above the school: the dazzling green skeleton with a snake-like tongue sticking out of its mouth. Whenever Death Eaters break into a building, wherever they kill someone, they leave a mark like this...
Harry's eyes widened suddenly, filled with fear.
Ai Wen narrowed his eyes, and the scheduled script started!
"The Dark Mark, when did it appear?" Dumbledore asked, struggling to stand up, grabbing Harry's shoulder painfully.
"Must have been a few minutes ago, the cat wasn't there when I let it out, but when I got upstairs..."
"We need to go back to the castle immediately," said Dumbledore, who was using his will to control his body. "Rosmerta, we need transportation, broomsticks..."
"I have it behind the bar, and I can use it for the three of you!" Rosmerta said, her expression terrified, "Abus, do you want me to run and get it?"
"No, Harry can do it."
Harry immediately raised his wand, "Rosmerta's broom is coming!"
A second later they heard a loud bang and the front door of the bar was thrown open.
