Chapter 88: Remarks on the Launch

Part of my thoughts have been said at the end of a previous chapter. I won’t go into details about how bad the performance of this book is. I mainly want to explain some problems.

I am not good at writing about conflicts when writing urban entertainment articles. Where there are people, there are open and secret struggles, but I am not the kind of person who will confront or offend everyone I see. I am not good enough in this aspect. Maybe this is also one of the reasons why some people often say that it is a "daily account" and the performance is not good (but I really don’t think it is a daily account. Can anyone tell me about it?).

In addition, I think the heroine has no sense of existence and looks like a passerby. In fact, I have taken out a separate space to write about the heroine later. The characterization must take a little bit of time and effort. I will try to make the character more three-dimensional.

The main thing I want to talk about in my thoughts is the selection of songs later.

Many readers mentioned that "The Rest of My Life" should be replaced with "Love Is Not Helpless". Of course, I have considered this song. To be precise, every time I choose a song, I have to struggle for a long time. Just talking about this plot, I have listened to at least dozens of love songs of confession. Unfortunately, after all, it is a plagiarism, and it is difficult to find a song that completely fits the plot and the feeling I want.

Let's talk about "Love Is Not Helpful". Let's not talk about the meaning of the song title "Love Is Not Helpful". The main song "It's hard to forget the first time I saw you, a pair of charming eyes..." The first few sentences are quite fitting, but the latter "I'm afraid I will fall in love with you, I dare not let myself get too close, I'm afraid I have nothing to give you, and loving you also requires a lot of courage" is very inconsistent with the character of the protagonist.

Some readers mentioned that the description of Yan Ran's eyes at the beginning was simply a description of her appearance, which has nothing to do with the song "Love Is Not Helpful".

Why choose "The Rest of My Life"? In fact, this song is not so suitable. The hoarse voice of the original singer Ma Liang is matched with the song, which does have a bit of vicissitudes, looking back, and the feeling of having seen thousands of sails.

But compared with other songs, the lyrics are very fitting, and this is a more affectionate confession, starting with love at first sight, and ending with a long-lasting confession, like a long-term promise, which is more in line with the feeling I want to describe. I think that changing the protagonist's young voice to sing it can erase that part of the vicissitudes to a certain extent.

However, I also reflected on it. Because the protagonist is set to have a high level of musical literacy, when I was writing, I should have spent a little more time writing about the protagonist making a little bit of adaptation to the song, which might be better.

In addition, I saw that some readers said that the second issue should choose "Xiaochou". I like Mao Buyi's songs very much, and I must have heard all his songs.

Songs like "Xiaochou" and "People Like Me" were written by him when he participated in "Tomorrow's Son" or before. As Xue Zhiqian said, his songs are poor and sad, and the sense of substitution is very strong. This also leads to other people singing these two songs. There is no such feeling. Let the protagonist sing these two songs, which is not appropriate.

And the song "Young Bird Guide" is a song from the third album after his debut. It is a song that he has been struggling in the entertainment industry for four years since his debut. Whether it is the angle of the song or the metaphor of the lyrics, it is more in line with the proposition of "impression of the entertainment industry", and I really like this song very much.

In fact, it is very difficult to choose songs when writing entertainment articles. This is not my first entertainment article. When it comes to song selection, basically no matter what you choose, someone will dislike it. "The song is too old", "It's a catchy song", "It's been written to pieces", "It's not good before", etc., are all common, and it's really impossible to satisfy all readers.

I thought I would not waver, but when it was put on the shelves, I wrote a total of four songs, and only three of them were actually written, but the comments still made me a little waver.

At first, I chose songs to write about some good songs with a certain popularity, but not so popular that everyone has heard them.

Except for the first song, this song is actually just to write about Xu Rui and Yan Ran playing music together, and to promote a niche song for everyone to listen to. The purpose of choosing songs is different from the following songs, so this one is omitted.

In fact, the last three songs, "The Rest of My Life", "Nobody", and "Guide for Young Birds", are all quite popular, but not that hot, because many readers like to find songs in books. I thought that instead of having all the songs in a book be popular and heard by everyone, I would occasionally write some songs that are not that hot. If you haven't heard them before and think they are good, isn't this a surprise? Of course, if you don't think they are good, emmm...

The original principle of selecting songs and movies for the whole book is to select some niche works with high reputation + some works with good popularity and quality but not so popular + some phenomenal works. Now I don't know whether I should select all popular works.

In particular, the homogeneity of entertainment works is very serious. If all the works are popular works, the songs selected in each book will be almost the same. Of course, I don't mean that I want to be unique. I don't want to, but because I am not good at shaping contradictions and conflicts, I can only make some attempts in other places, otherwise the loss of readers will be very serious (this book doesn't have many readers to begin with, am I exaggerating when I say this).

It's difficult for me too. I also want everyone to like it, but I can't do it, so it's still a flop. Please understand.
