Chapter 342 You Can Read It, but Don’t Believe It Completely
Although flying swords cannot be used to send letters in this city, Lu Pingxi still has other means to find the little flower demon and his friends. After all, Lu Pingxi is a cultivator in the Jindan period and has many means.
He had already placed a divine mark on the little flower demon. As long as he follows this mark, he can find the little flower demon.
Judging from the current situation, Lu Pingxi feels that he should not look for the little flower demon in a big way, so as not to trigger any trouble.
According to the words in the Tao Te Ching, water benefits all things without competing, which is also the attitude that a cultivator should have.
You have a high realm and strong strength, just because you are ahead. If you don’t always have the state of mind of a Taoist, it will be difficult to go further.
So Lu Pingxi doesn’t want to be like those monsters who think they are superior to others because they are not as high as their realm, but continue to maintain their usual self.
There are many people or monsters who are submissive when they are weak, and hit hard when they are in power. This is fake, and their hearts are shaken by whether they are in power or not.
For a Jindan-stage cultivator like Lu Pingxi, it doesn’t matter if his realm is low or high. He will not feel inferior and distressed because of losing power, nor will he be proud and indulgent because of gaining power. This is the truth, and his heart will not be shaken by the changes of external things.
In many biographies, people or monsters become different after becoming immortals or Buddhas. In fact, this is the manifestation of falsehood. Monkey King went to the West to obtain scriptures, and after he was conferred the title of Buddha in the West, he became another person. Did he become a Buddha, or a tool monkey for Buddhism?
On the contrary, people like Jigong and Maitreya Buddha understand what is true. They have been consistent from the beginning to the beginning of the Tang and Song dynasties, and have not changed after experiencing 81 difficulties. They are firm in their Taoism. They are the truth.
In Journey to the West, Taoism and Buddhism are both winners, and only the monkey is a tool monkey. In the end, the monkey neither attained the Tao nor became a Buddha.
A true Buddha, such as a Bodhisattva, is still a Buddha even if you do not confer the title of Buddha on her; a false Buddha, such as a monkey, is still not a Buddha even if you confer the title of Buddha on him.
Lu Pingxi walked forward slowly, thinking slowly. This road of cultivating immortals was far from being as simple as he imagined. The 100 floors of the Immortal Cultivation Tower not only rely on strength to climb up, but also need to be understood layer by layer.
If you just kill your way up layer by layer, then this is not cultivating immortals.
Lu Pingxi suddenly recalled what the corpse cultivator said before. The corpse cultivator said that the top floor of the Immortal Tower was just a conspiracy. Countless monsters fought hard for the 100th floor, and finally ended up with death.
Lu Pingxi did not agree, but he believed that there was no way to become an immortal on the 100th floor. This way of becoming an immortal should be in each floor of the Immortal Tower. Only by really climbing up from the first floor layer by layer can you understand the real art of cultivating immortals.
Thinking of this, Lu Pingxi walked more steadily. He didn't want to miss anything because he walked too fast and climbed too fast.
People often ask what is the meaning of life?
Because after coming to the world, the money, status, and love you get can't be taken away. Once you die, they will disappear like smoke.
So people pursue immortality and are unwilling to die just like that, especially those emperors with supreme power. They want to stay in power forever. Ten years is not enough, a hundred years is not enough, and a thousand years is not enough.
But because of this, they cannot get the Tao, and even if they eat the elixir, it will be useless.
Even the emperors are like this, let alone ordinary people? What do ordinary people live for?
Lu Pingxi didn't know this either. Although he thought about it, he didn't come to a conclusion. After all, the meaning of life is as mysterious as the way of heaven. Why did humans come into being and why did life come into being? This is something that many philosophers can't think about in their entire lives.
Or, this kind of thing cannot be concluded through thinking.
Theory is theory after all, and practice is the only criterion for testing truth.
That's why people will cultivate immortality. Like Zhuangzi, his wisdom is high enough, right? But he can only see one-sided things. At that time, he believed that the sky was round and the earth was square, the continent was surrounded by four oceans, and the water of rivers flowed to the sea, but the sea never grew, so there must be a sea mouth under the sea to discharge floods.
So even Zhuangzi has things he doesn't know, and what he said is just the result of his thinking. If he could live forever, would he have new views and insights if he lived to this day?
In the final analysis, you still have to live, so Taoism emphasizes the dual cultivation of life and nature.
In the past, Lu Pingxi believed that people could practice Taoism without cultivating immortality, but now he understands that if you want to cultivate Taoism, you have to cultivate immortality.
The ancient Taoists only thought and meditated to comprehend the heaven and earth, hoping to explore the true meaning of the universe through this method, but the universe seen by this method is only a corner of the universe. If they can survive and live to this day, they may be able to verify their thoughts with the power of science.
Then the "Book of Changes", "Tao Te Ching", "Zhuangzi", etc. may also be revised, and the veil of the way of heaven may be unveiled more.
So, you still have to cultivate immortality, whether you are seeking Taoism, seeking Buddha, thinking about the meaning of life, or exploring the true meaning of the universe.
Only by living, surviving, and being immortal can one persevere to the end and wait until the time when everything is explored and understood.
Lu Pingxi suddenly had an idea. He felt that a certain self in the parallel world had influenced him. Perhaps it was an old monster who had lived for millions of years who had influenced him, or perhaps it was a great god who had discovered the truth of the universe who had influenced him.
In short, he gradually understood that the process of climbing the Immortal Tower was to cultivate immortality.
If you want to cultivate Taoism, you must first cultivate immortality, and if you want to achieve success in cultivating immortality, you must cultivate Taoism.
Cultivating Taoism and cultivating immortality are both indispensable!
In addition, science and cultivating immortality are also indispensable.
Newton, Hawking, and Einstein are great scientists, but they still cannot escape death in the end. If these people can live forever, is it possible to further uncover the mystery of the universe?
This may be because Newton and Einstein began to contact theology in their later years? Is it because they understand that the truth that can be observed with the human body is ultimately limited?
Studying the truth of the universe with the human body is like a frog in the well observing the sky through the well mouth.
Zhuangzi believes that it is not advisable to talk about the ocean with a frog in the well, because the frog in the well does not understand what the ocean is, but in fact, if an alien talks to Zhuangzi about space, Zhuangzi will not understand it either.
Zhuangzi's limited life prevented him from exploring infinite knowledge, so Zhuangzi's words can be read, but not fully believed. The same reason, the alchemy books and cultivation methods since ancient times can be read, but not fully believed.
The "Taishang Yuqing Immortal Method" obtained by Lu Pingxi can only be read, not completely believed.
There will be another update later, probably
