Chapter 509: Love, Hate, and Emotions Are a Mixed Story

At noon the next day, a passerby discovered the bloody incident in Zhang's Inn and reported it to the county government in a panic. When the constable and the coroner came to examine the body and check the scene, they all looked pale and looked at each other.

The results of the autopsy showed that Zhang Yuan and Zhang died suddenly due to excessive fear, without any external injuries. In the inn, there were no other signs of fighting except for the traces of Zhang Yuan swinging an axe. This made them feel weird and inexplicable, and they thought of all the ghost legends they had heard, so they behaved like this.

Later, a child's body was found in the kitchen of Zhang's Inn, and a pile of bones were dug out from the soil in the backyard, confirming the crime of Zhang and his wife running a black shop to make money and kill people, and they also sold the pedestrians they killed as secret fresh meat, which was really a heinous crime.

When this news came out, the county was full of stench and vomiting in one day.

When everyone calmed down and thought about the cause and effect, they speculated that the death of Zhang Yuan and his wife was a ghost's revenge, and this case became the first of the ten horror legends within a hundred miles.

…………

Going through the city and the mansion, Shi Xuan's consciousness was slightly expanded, and he could absorb people's murderous intentions. Except for a few things that needed to be pushed by himself to make the murderous intentions stronger, it didn't take much time. In half a month, he almost collected all the murderous intentions of people, except for a few.

On this day, Shi Xuan stepped into a prosperous and lively city. While keeping a quiet and leisurely mentality, he enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the world, people coming and going, and rubbing shoulders with each other, which was different from the world of cultivation. Sometimes jumping out of the usual environment can reflect on oneself, grasp one's own state of mind, and not be blinded by some simple things and bound by the soul. This is why there are often old monsters and powerful people playing in the world.

"Master, can you tell me a fortune?" A middle-aged man with many servants, errand boys, and guards, wearing brocade robes and jade belts, came over with a happy face. He had a lot of happy events recently, and was preparing to burn incense and fulfill his vows at the Qingshou Temple. But when he was going out of the city, he suddenly saw Shi Xuan walking leisurely. He felt that this young Taoist priest in a green robe had an indescribable sense of transcendence and freedom. He was moved, so he took his followers to ask for a fortune.

Shi Xuan walked slowly with his hands behind his back, and he had not calculated what little things he would encounter, so he did not expect that such a gentleman would suddenly come to ask for a fortune. He was quite surprised, because he did not hold a banner with "iron mouth straight judgment" or "fortune telling and character divination" written on it.

"I wonder how this official knew that I could tell fortunes?" Since they were so predestined, Shi Xuan looked at the middle-aged man, his mind turned a few times, calculated, and then asked with a smile.

The middle-aged man bowed his head and said with a sincere smile: "I am Hao Changshou. I saw that the Taoist priest was extraordinary, so I took the liberty to come up and ask for divination."

The slaves, servants, guards, etc. who followed him were secretly disdainful. The master was really too happy. He actually pulled a wild Taoist priest on the road to tell fortunes. What could he tell? Generally speaking, these fortune tellers first threatened people with false words, and only after scaring people out of their wits, could they easily cheat them of their money. Moreover, this person did not even have a flag. It was obvious that he saw the opportunity and took advantage of it. How could he have real skills? !

"Hao Yuanwai, I see that your forehead is black and there is evil between your eyebrows. Within three days, there will be a disaster of life." Shi Xuan had a bad taste and casually said a few fortune teller terms, putting the content of the previous calculation behind it, and this matter just happened to collect a kind of missing murderous intent in people.

Those guards and servants almost laughed out loud. It was indeed a big threat, and the most common and vulgar comments were used. The master should finally wake up now, right?

Hao Changshou was naturally furious: "I see that you are extraordinary, so I came here with good intentions to ask for divination. If you can't tell, just tell me directly. Why are you making fun of me?" But on the surface, he suppressed his dissatisfaction. After all, he took the initiative to come to the door, so he said lightly: "Oh, I wonder if you have a way to eliminate disasters and solve problems?" He didn't take Shi Xuan's comments just now to heart at all, and just wanted to send this Taoist away quickly.

Shi Xuan grabbed it casually and pinched out a light yellow talisman out of thin air: "Within three days, if you meet after dinner, just pinch it in your hand."

"Well, thank you very much, Taoist priest, I wonder how many taels of silver this talisman costs?" Seeing that things were developing as he expected, Hao Changshou's tone became a little cold, with hidden anger.

Shi Xuan threw the talisman over and chuckled twice: "We are destined to meet." Then he continued to walk forward leisurely. After a few breaths, he disappeared in the crowd on the street.

Hao Changshou took the pale yellow talisman in a daze, his mind fluctuating. He didn't expect the young Taoist priest to not take a penny. Could it be that what he said was true? His life will be in danger within three days? !

One of the followers saw that the master's face was changing and said boldly: "Maybe the Taoist priest wants to play a long line to catch a big fish?"

"But if there is no disaster, the Taoist priest can't come to the door with a thick face? In my opinion, three days will pass quickly anyway, it is better to believe it than not." Another guard followed.

Hao Changshou nodded. This kind of thing is really better to believe it than not: "Don't spread this matter first. If there is no disaster, won't it make people laugh."

…………

The first day was safe and sound, the second day was no disaster, and the third day was safe and stable.

Just when Hao Changshou was about to put the matter behind him and was preparing to wash up and go to bed, his wife Hao Xiao, who had been missing for a while, came into the room gracefully, carrying a few side dishes and a pot of rice wine. She was in her thirties but looked like a virgin of seventeen or eighteen. She was beautiful and graceful, and was the apple of Hao Changshou's eye.

"Madam, what do you mean? Do you want to drink the wedding wine again?" Hao Changshou joked with a smile. The two of them had a deep relationship and were still as close as paint after many years of marriage, like a newlywed couple. Therefore, Hao Changshou, a powerful and wealthy man, had no other affairs in the past twenty years except taking a concubine because his wife had difficulty giving birth.

Hao Xiao smiled and said, "Master, have you forgotten that tonight is the night of the full moon? How can you not drink a little wine and enjoy the moon?"

"Oh, I really forgot, Madam, please don't blame me." Hao Changshou got up and went to the table beside the bed, but suddenly remembered the Taoist's comments, "After-meal wine? Within three days? The disaster should be here! But how could Madam harm me? Is she also a victim?"

With the mentality of believing it is better to believe it than not, Hao Changshou took out the talisman and pinched it in his palm.

After a short while of moon-watching and drinking, Mrs. Hao Xiao was already drunk, her face was rosy, she was sweating, and her beauty was fully revealed. Hao Changshou was so drunk that he wanted to get close to her, but he was drunk all of a sudden.

Hao Changshou felt dizzy and his eyes were dark. Suddenly, a light yellow light shone, and he suddenly woke up, broke free from the darkness, and found himself lying on the table.

He laughed at himself at first, and thought to himself: "I'm old, I'm drunk so quickly! Uh, where's my wife?"

Seeing that there was no trace of Mrs. Hao Xiao by the table, on the bed, or behind the screen, Hao Changshou panicked, "Is this the disaster that the Taoist priest was talking about?" Before he finished thinking, he suddenly saw the bright moonlight outside the window, the light gathered, and a figure appeared in it.

"My wife?" Hao Changshou ran out in confusion and joy, but when he walked into the yard, he was stunned, horrified, terrified, and unbelievable.

In the light ball formed by countless cold lights, there was a monster with a human head and a wolf body. It was ten feet long and two people tall, with white hair standing up. The face was familiar to Hao Changshou, his wife Hao Xiaoshi, who had slept with him for nearly twenty years. The beautiful face was distorted and hideous, as if she was enduring great pain.

She turned her head and saw Hao Changshou, with a complex look in her eyes. Hao Changshou didn't know how to understand it. The extreme pain, sadness, resentment, despair, and prayer were touching.

But Hao Changshou was too surprised and took a few steps back, muttering: "Strange, monster..."

Hao Xiaoshi seemed to be unable to control herself anymore. She howled at the moon, and even her head turned into a huge wolf head. Her eyes were red, and she walked towards Hao Changshou. Although she tried her best to control herself, she still had difficulty moving forward.

Hao Changshou retreated again and again. He was frightened and didn't pay attention to the steps. He fell to the ground. Facing the wolf monster rushing at him, he couldn't move. There was only endless despair and fear.

But at this moment, a light yellow light flew out from his hand and covered the wolf demon transformed by Hao Xiaoshi. As the light flashed, it turned back into a human body and curled up on the ground. It was in extreme pain but could not move even a finger.

Everything before was like a nightmare. Hao Changshou slapped himself in disbelief, but finally believed everything he saw with his own eyes.

"You monster, you actually want to harm me. Look, I will kill you!" Hao Changshou held up the light yellow talisman, full of murderous intent, and gnashed his teeth and was about to stick to it.

However, when he walked halfway, he saw Hao Xiaoshi's loving, sad, desolate and desperate eyes, and his heart softened immediately. The murderous intent subsided. Thinking of the 20 years of love and affection between husband and wife, his steps were like a heavy stone tied to his feet, and it was difficult to move.

But in a moment, Hao Changshou thought of the wolf demon he had just seen, and his heart rolled and nauseated. The murderous intent rose again, and he took a few steps forward.

Hao Xiaoshi's eyes were full of tears, which made Hao Changshou recall the past: when they first got married, they treated each other as equals, and they were deeply in love... "If she wanted to kill me, she could have done it in the past 20 years. Why did she wait until today? Every move she made on weekdays, I can feel that it comes from the heart, without any falsehood." He stopped again, and the murderous intent subsided.

Hao Changshou's face changed unpredictably, sometimes ferocious and cruel, sometimes gentle and smiling, sometimes full of murderous intent, sometimes tolerant and understanding, and finally sighed and threw away the pale yellow talisman.

Strands of scarlet murderous intent flowed from him into the talisman, which was the murderous intent of love and hate, which was lingering and repetitive.

As the murderous intent completely left, Hao Changshou's legs softened and he sat down on the ground, feeling as relieved as if the tangled love, hatred and hatred were cut off by a sword.

Hao Xiaoshi stood up, with a happy, gentle and loving smile on her face, and helped Hao Changshou into the room, whispering from time to time about the suppressed pain that had been concealed for many years.

…………

The next day, Hao Changshou and his wife, accompanied by guards and servants, searched the whole city for Shi Xuan, wanting to thank this living god in person. If it weren't for the talisman, Hao Xiao's unexpected loss of control would have led to a tragedy.

PS: The outline was set a long time ago. I wanted to write the murderous intentions of people as a few short stories like those in Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio, but it seems a bit abrupt in the current state of identity. If it were at the beginning of the book, the style would be appropriate, so I adjusted it, cut off a few short stories, and ended this plot in the next chapter.
