Chapter 1166: Shadow of the Ancient Tree
After waving his hand to let the black-robed man leave, Meng Qi turned his gaze to the window, looking at the rising sun and the gorgeous morning glow, as if he had realized something. After a few breaths, he turned back and looked at the empty door, listening to the bustling morning. When he realized that everything was peaceful, he quietly exhaled, as if he had experienced a fierce battle.
"It's really not easy..." He sighed secretly.
The lineage of Medicine King Buddha is based on the "Original Vow Merit Sutra" and mainly cultivates the reward body. Moonlight Bodhisattva is no exception. His words and deeds must be in line with his own great vows to get closer to the corresponding great Dao law, becoming more and more the same until it is perfect and replaced. In this process, once there is a violation, he will immediately lose the "reward" and fall.
Therefore, protecting himself and repaying the cause and effect is okay for Moonlight Bodhisattva, but as part of the great Dao law, it is obviously impossible to directly interfere in the mundane affairs, joys and sorrows, and help him deal with the black-robed man.
Therefore, Meng Qi was more than capable of protecting himself, but he was worried that the black-robed man would have difficulty controlling his desires and dealing with other passengers on the boat. He was also not sure whether Moonlight Bodhisattva would stop him without a large-scale killing. He had no choice but to use his ability to deceive people, combined with his past experience and some insights after losing his martial arts strength, to drag the black-robed man for a whole night, eliminating all the desires in his heart, and at the same time, he used the great achievement of the Eye of No Delusion to restrain the other party in a half-real and half-bluffing manner.
For half a night, he seemed to be an otherworldly expert, discussing what was external and what was true, free and easy and deep, but in fact, he was exhausted and worried at every step, fearing that what he said would not attract the black-robed man, and that he was too deceiving and would cause a backlash.
There were no fists or swords, and the casual conversation this night was not like a fierce battle, but it was indeed so, although the other party might not feel it.
"Fortunately, I still have a mouth..." Meng Qi touched his temples, and he was a little self-satisfied in his self-mockery.
In the university dormitory, I was addicted to martial arts fantasy novels and was still the best at livening up the atmosphere, gossiping and making jokes among my roommates. I led many of them astray and they jokingly called me a person with only a mouth. I told myself quite sincerely that in ancient times, Confucius became a saint and was revered as Confucius. Today, the mouth cannon is king and should be called a "mouth".
Sure enough, without martial arts strength, you have to change your attitude, thinking and method to deal with things.
After this night, Meng Qi had a deeper understanding of the external model.
It was not that martial arts strength blinded my eyes, but that the experience, habits, inherent cognition and instinctive judgment formed after relying on martial arts strength were interfering with my mind. They are very correct in some cases, but if you completely believe in them and follow them, you will inevitably follow the old ways and be "stubborn". Sooner or later, you will encounter a threshold without knowing it and sink from then on.
Because of this, "Kill me and see me" is not to give up "I", nor is it to give up martial arts strength, but to see through this limitation and see that the law cannot be relied on.
Once you break through and see your true self, you can completely master the power of martial arts, control it instead of being controlled by it, just like building a boat (martial arts) to cross the sea (the sea of suffering), but when you reach the other side, you hold on to the boat (martial arts), which is putting the cart before the horse, confusing the means with the purpose.
This kind of thing is not something that can be solved by just looking through it. The experience, cognition and habits that are almost internalized into the instinct always play a role unconsciously, moistening things silently, and it is difficult for you to detect the difference. Even if you have corresponding ideas in your heart, you can't recognize it. After all, "those who are involved are confused", and it takes a long time to examine it bit by bit before it is possible to find out, which is enough to be called a major difficulty on the road of martial arts.
In this case, Meng Qicai accepted Qi Zhengyan's suggestion and let these experiences, cognitions, habits and the contradictions of reality directly surface by "giving up martial arts strength". Although it was fierce, it was indeed quite obvious, which made the "stubborn" heart after many years of practice feel it all the time.
After a while of contemplation, Meng Qi's stomach growled. He shook his head and laughed. He left the cabin and headed for the ship's lobby. On the way, he saw many passengers holding the Universal Talisman. Some were chatting with their families to comfort their homesickness, while others were sliding their fingers, with light and shadow in their eyes, browsing interesting messages and posts.
In the same way, the Universal Talisman has changed the life pattern in the real world.
"Xiao Meng, where is your Universal Talisman? I haven't seen you use it these days?" After spending many days together, Huang Chang, who was planning to join the Mo Palace, became very familiar with Meng Qi. While greeting him, he asked the question he wanted to ask but forgot to ask before.
Without the Universal Talisman, how can we exchange numbers and become communication friends?
Meng Qi sighed, "It was stolen on Sanxiao Island. I found it when I went out to sea."
Huang Chang did not doubt it and took out another universal talisman from his arms and handed it over: "This is what I used before. It has fewer functions. You can use it for now. Contact your family as soon as possible to avoid worrying them."
"Okay!" Meng Qi's eyes flashed, and he accepted Huang Chang's kindness without hesitation.
With the universal talisman, he can contact Mr. Lu, Zhiwei, Daqinggen and others, and return to Yuxu Palace directly without having to travel long distances and travel by boat.
However, will returning to Yuxu Palace directly reduce the experience and understanding?
Forget it, contact, chat about gossip, and grasp the current situation.
Thinking, Meng Qi opened this universal talisman, and then planned to enter the corresponding number to contact Jiang Zhiwei and others.
At this moment, his action suddenly paused, because he found that he could not remember Jiang Zhiwei's number!
After the Dharmakaya, the primordial spirit merged with the physical body, and the true spirit emerged. It is not an empty talk to remember everything and remember everything. With the improvement of the realm, one can bear all the complex information of the universe in the future, which is incomparable with ordinary people. Therefore, Meng Qi did not bother to remember the universal knowledge codes of teachers and friends in the past, because they were firmly imprinted in his mind after just one look. Now that his martial arts strength has been lost and he has become ordinary, how can he still have this ability to bear information and this memory?
There are some vague impressions in the depths of his heart, but it is difficult to see clearly. Meng Qi thought hard and frowned, like an amnesiac. Many experiences and accumulated knowledge in the past seem to have sunk to the bottom of the sea, vague and unclear. What he can remember is only a small part floating on the water.
It turns out that even memory and knowledge are partially dependent on martial arts strength...
If he had not taken the longevity pill, he would probably be old and dead by now.
The influence of the martial arts that was internalized into his instinct emerged, and Meng Qi felt sweaty. Even if he gave up his strength, it was not so easy to detect the problem.
If he didn't give up, he would have to rely on time.
With some fears and gains, Meng Qi put away the universal knowledge symbol given by Huang Chang and smiled, "No one will take it for now, let's have breakfast first."
Huang Chang didn't doubt him, and they both walked into the lobby of the building ship and found a seat to sit down.
While chatting about various anecdotes in the martial arts world, Meng Qi continued to think about the questions just now.
Even memory and knowledge are partially dependent on martial arts strength. Are my current attitudes, thinking and methods completely free from its influence?
The cognition and experience brought by martial arts strength are restrained. Are the cognition and experience cultivated by earth knowledge and past memories also restrained? What is the difference between the thinking mode I have reconstructed and the thinking mode brought by martial arts strength?
After a short silence, Meng Qi answered himself in his heart:
It is restrained! There is no difference!
Giving up martial arts strength is because it is the biggest reliance, so that you can see more things clearly, not other things or external things!
The experience and thinking methods from martial arts strength will be limited, and it is difficult to "see" the true self completely. The experience and thinking methods from earth knowledge and past memories will also be limited, and it is also difficult to "see" the true self completely. To be precise, it is limited by the fact that it is still in the acquired state. Cutting off everything is equivalent to death, unable to think, unable to feel, so no matter which method or experience has limitations, it is impossible to "see" the true self completely. You can only see one side, each with similarities and differences, just like a blind man touching an elephant, each with something to gain, each with something to cover, but not the true face.
Clearly understand these similarities and differences, and you will know that all appearances are not appearances, and you will see Tathagata.
What is Tathagata? "I" is Tathagata!
At this point, it is considered to have seen the true self, and you can prove the legend!
It is also because of this that the Buddhas with the suffix "Tathagata" are the least legendary!
This instant of cognition made Meng Qi happy physically and mentally. It was not an epiphany, but he really saw the legendary road. He had been confused about what to realize and what to do after giving up his martial arts strength. He could only keep trying. Now he really knew how to work hard and how to examine himself.
With this thought, Meng Qi couldn't help but smile. The little girl at the table next to him muttered, "Uncle seems to be shining all of a sudden."
"That's right, it's like a candle lit at night." The little boy echoed.
Less affected by the acquired environment, although less knowledge and wisdom, but can see some things that adults can hardly see.
Meng Qi glanced at them and said with a smile, "Uncle is like glass, clear inside and out."
"Uncle is really amazing!" The twins didn't doubt it at all.
At this moment, someone at the window exclaimed, blurting out:
"Ancient Fusang tree?"
This sea route is completely different from the sea where the ancient Fusang tree is located. It is 108,000 miles away. How can you see the ancient Fusang tree? Meng Qi gathered his thoughts and looked out the window. He saw a towering tree with mulberry leaves at the junction of the sea and sky. It was like a bath in fire, with a burning, bloody, ancient and illusory feeling.
Is it really the ancient Fusang tree?
A warrior took out the star plate, speculated for a moment, and wondered: "The sea route is correct, how did the ancient Fusang tree come here?"
Meng Qi was about to go to the Wanjie Tongshi Tiandi to post for help, when he suddenly heard the voice of the Moonlight Bodhisattva: "The shadow of the ancient Fusang tree can be seen in all seven seas, and people from the Luo Sect are haunting near it."
"Luo Sect?" Meng Qi frowned. The ancient Fusang tree was related to Donghuang Taiyi. What did the Luo Sect want to do?
Then he pleaded: "Please pay attention to the Bodhisattva."
There was a lot of discussion in the hall of the building ship. Some people took pictures, some posted, and some live broadcasted. Huang Chang looked for a while, and turned back with satisfaction. He found that his new friend Xiao Meng was thinking hard, with a serious face.
"What are you thinking about?" He asked casually.
Meng Qi said seriously:
"I am thinking about what the Luo Cult is up to, and I am worried about the extent to which they have colluded with the demons. I am considering the general situation in the world, and deducing how the human race should deal with it..."
Huang Chang looked at him blankly, not knowing how to continue, and everyone around him was confused.
This, is this something you need to consider... Is it useful for you to consider...
Could it be a member of the famous "Virtual Political Affairs Hall" in the world of Wanjie Tongshi? Living in an ordinary life, worrying about the country and the people, and talking about military and national affairs.
Suddenly, the voice of Moonlight Bodhisattva came into Meng Qi's ears again:
"The ancient Fusang tree has the aura of Luo Jiao legend. It seems that it was found there based on the instructions of the Golden Emperor and the clues left by the previous saint."
Xiao Sang? Meng Qi stood up suddenly.
