Chapter 686 32. Nobunaga's Five Alternative Names

The court and the shogunate naturally treated Shimotaro's visit to Luoyang with great respect.

Uncle Tsunayoshi, who had already served as the military messenger, and Hosokawa Fujitaka, the representative of the shogunate, went out of the city to Setabashi to welcome him. Later, the three magistrates of Kyoto appointed by Oda Nobunaga, Sakuma Nobumori, Kinoshita Hideyoshi, and Murai Sadakatsu, also went out of the city to welcome him.

The scene was grand and solemn. The 6,000 troops that Oda Nobunaga had assembled in Luoyang in advance lined up to lead the Yamauchi army into Luoyang. The streets were full of Luoyang residents who were watching, and they were all moved by the grandeur of the Yamauchi army.

In theory, the soldiers of the princes, especially the 15,000 soldiers, should not enter Luoyang like this. But on the one hand, Yamauchi Taro had a special status, and on the other hand, Oda Nobunaga might not have wanted to pull this army up to fight together.

Ashikaga Yoshiaki was very happy that his beloved son led troops to Kyoto to deter the "scoundrels", and Oda Nobunaga did not object, so the powerless court naturally had no intention of objecting.

After the army entered Luoyang, the 800 people of the important hatamoto 1st and 2nd divisions camped in the Yamauchi residence, and the rest of the troops were stationed along Suzaku Street, distributed in various temples and samurai houses in the capital. More than a thousand people were stationed outside the Nijo Palace, and Oda Nobunaga was unwilling to let the army enter the Nijo Palace.

Then Yamauchi Taro presented a thousand taels of gold to the court and the shogunate, and the court gave an additional thousand stones of white rice and a hundred pieces of colored silk. The shogunate gave thirty iron cannons, ten horses, and a pair of katana.

Although the treatment of the court and the shogunate was relatively better after Nobunaga entered the capital, at least Nobunaga returned some of the local imperial ryos to the court and the shogunate. With occasional tributes, life has improved a lot.

Now that Yamauchi has gone to Luoyang, it is equivalent to spending money again after the New Year, and the people of Luoyang are all happy.

After that, after informing Oda Nobunaga, he announced to Luoyang that when Yamauchi Taro is in Beijing, in order to celebrate Yamauchi Taro's coming of age ceremony, a porridge factory will be set up. There is no limit on the number of people, as long as you are a citizen of Luoyang, you can come and eat, cooked from morning to night, and you can eat as much as you want.

The intention of inviting the people to buy their hearts is very strong!

But Yamauchi Taro is the next general, and it is reasonable to invite the people of Luoyang to buy their hearts, and there is no fault at all.

In the end, Oda Nobunaga not only agreed readily, but also donated 2,000 stones of grain on behalf of the official of the forbidden village, and set up a porridge factory together. In name, he suppressed Yamauchi Taro, and deliberately invited the prince and others to come forward.

The competition between the two sides on face always has some taste in it!

"Taro, come forward a little, you have grown a lot taller unexpectedly." Ashikaga Yoshiaki showed considerable kindness to Yamauchi Taro.

"I miss my father in Shinano." Although Yamauchi Taro and Ashikaga Yoshiaki are not close, they are father and son, so they are respectful and polite.

Yamauchi Taro has grown up a lot now, and it is not convenient for him to sit on his lap or hold him in his arms, so Yamauchi Taro sits next to Ashikaga Yoshiaki. He originally sat opposite Oda Nobunaga, but now he sits above Oda Nobunaga.

"You come at the right time. The flowers in Luoyang are blooming, and the scenery in Dongshan is just right. Let's go and enjoy it together on a certain day."

"That's what I mean."

"The matter of entertaining His Highness who dismounts has been handed over to Akechi Jubei. Please rest assured, Your Highness." Oda Nobunaga did not have any samurai familiar with the samurai etiquette, so he had to summon Akechi Mitsuhide from Shiga County.

"As you say!" Ashikaga Yoshiaki did not need to refuse Nobunaga's face for such a thing, not to mention that Akechi Mitsuhide was also a close friend.

"I heard that the Cuju in Luoyang is very exciting." Yamauchi Taro mentioned it a little more.

"It's easy and can be done right away."

It's not that Oda Nobunaga is bragging, this is the advantage of being in Luoyang. Any singing party, tea party, Japanese poetry, Chinese poetry, Cuju, polo, sumo, archery... As long as you can think of the art of this time, you can find experts in Luoyang, and you can watch it immediately if you want to.

The first audience in Luoyang was harmonious. There was no discussion of business or any rules. Just chatting for a while based on the principle of promoting friendship.

The rest was a grand welcome reception for three consecutive days, including tea parties and singing parties, feasting during the day, and enjoying elegant music in the evening. Here I have to say that a large number of Tang and Song Dynasty court elegant music are now preserved and continued by the court officials, which can be said to be extremely intact and rigid. What Tang Xuanzong Li Longji listened to, Yamauchi Taro is listening to now. (It has changed somewhat in modern times)

Finally, the most important coming of age ceremony began to be discussed.

The person who wore the cap was naturally Oda Nobunaga. There is no need to mention this. As the shogunate's regent, there is no more suitable samurai nobleman in the world than him. However, the barber argued a little, and Oda Nobunaga thought that he could invite a nobleman to help Yamauchi Taro cut his hair to show his solemnity.

The Yamauchi family initially thought that it would be one of the fallen three governors and four positions, such as Kyogoku Takakichi, who was almost as good as Oda Nobunaga's retainer, or Sasaki Yoshikin, who now defected to Ashikaga Yoshiaki. This Owari guardian who tried to restore power finally sought pardon after being exiled by Nobunaga, and is now a guest of Ashikaga Yoshiaki.

As for Hosokawa Fujitaka, he is the most willing candidate for the Yamauchi family. He is both the son-in-law of the Yamauchi family and an important official of the shogunate. It is perfect for him to shave Yamauchi Taro's head.

Although the two sides had a dispute over this point, it was resolved quickly. One person shaved the hair and the other tied a small braid. The division of labor was clear and both sides were occupied.

The coming-of-age ceremony of Ashikaga Yoshiaki was held in Echizen by Asakura Yoshikage. At that time, Yoshiaki was not a shogun, and Asakura Yoshikage was a high-ranking official and Echizen guardian, which was very suitable.

Asakura Yoshikage also helped Ashikaga Yoshiaki change his name from Yoshiaki to Yoshiaki. Akira means revival and prosperity, which is better than Akira.

And before that, Ashikaga Yoshiteru also performed the coming-of-age ceremony under the official tree of Hiyoshi Shrine (Hiyoshi Taisha) in Sakamoto, Omi during his exile. The one who crowned him was Rokkaku Sadayasu (Sasaki Sadayasu), the guardian of Minami Omi and a shogunate official. At that time, Rokkaku Sadayasu named Ashikaga Yoshiteru Ashikaga Yoshito, which means tough and soft.

Since there was a precedent, the name of Yamauchi Taro was naturally decided by Oda Nobunaga. Now the two sides are still allies sitting at the same table and drinking in harmony, and Nobunaga certainly won't take it without asking.

As long as the name is not too extreme, the Yamanouchi family will approve it. Anyway, it's not that the name cannot be changed. It's normal for this thing to change in Japan.

To put it bluntly, Tachibana Muneshige may not be able to report all of his 24 names!

Nobunaga sent five alternatives.

To be the leader of the world and to inherit the previous king is called Tong!

To follow people and words, to gain the trust of the people is called Xin!

To be bright and prosperous, to be able to carry on the previous cause is called Guang!

To have rules, so to make the feelings clear is called Zhang!

To complete the work and to establish a government is called Cheng!

(It sounds a bit like a posthumous title, please forgive me.)
