Chapter 462 Three Things
Chen Ke walked down the stairs and entered the three-person wide passage. Judging from the length of the stairs, the space below was very huge.
Chen Ke walked down for more than half an hour before the road began to become flat. The wide corridor led to several walkways. The further you walked, the larger the space became. The echo of your footsteps distracted Chen Ke.
"Is anyone there? Hello?" Chen Ke tried to call out.
His hoarse voice passed along the corridor and was swallowed by the darkness. As he moved forward, the small lights on both sides of the passage lit up with his steps. On the walls on both sides of the passage, the words "Emergency Escape Passage" were written in Chinese characters, with red background and white characters, which looked particularly friendly.
There was no one in the passage, and it seemed that this passage did not serve any emergency evacuation purpose. Many rooms on both sides of these passages were locked by electronic doors of various levels. The structure was like some kind of scientific laboratory. But judging from the machine gun turrets hanging on the wall, its security level was much higher than that of an ordinary laboratory.
Chen Ke could only rely on the small lights attached to the corners of the corridor for lighting. He didn't dare to go forward, fearing that he would get lost in this dark underground passage. If he got completely lost, he would probably die of hunger and thirst in this mortal body.
Just as he stopped moving forward, an electronic synthesized voice came from the speaker embedded in the wall.
"Please follow the light."
As soon as the voice fell, the small lights in other corridors went out, leaving only the corridor where Chen Ke was, with the small lights still on.
"Who are you? Where is this?" Chen Ke looked up and looked around, trying to find out if there were any cameras or something like that.
"Follow the light, the answer you want is at the end." The electronic synthesized voice said.
Chen Ke hesitated for a moment, followed the instructions of the electronic synthesized voice, and walked along the lighted corridor. After a while, he came to an open underground space similar to a hangar.
To be honest, this place is as big as an underground airport, and there are really several sci-fi-looking aircraft parked, and several vehicles similar to chariots parked in the middle of the road, with their doors still open.
In the darkness far away in this space, a six-story-high restraint frame could be vaguely seen, standing silently in the darkness far away, which reminded him of the rack for docking robots in mecha cartoons.
The indicator light on the ground turned into a small orange-red light embedded in the ground, extending all the way to the opposite side. Chen Ke, like an ant crossing a flying pancake, passed through this wide and huge underground space and came to a huge iron door.
The height of this iron door was much higher than the restraint frame. Fortunately, he didn't need to find a way to open the door, because the iron door was not closed tightly, leaving a gap large enough for one person to enter.
Chen Ke walked into the iron door. It was pitch black inside. He had just taken a few steps forward when a light source suddenly lit up on the ground.
The white light illuminated the corner of the room. On his right, rows of round cans were hung on the wall through mechanical structures, accumulating upwards. The backs of the cans were filled with thick black cables, exactly the same as what he saw in his dream.
Then, another light came on, and the same scene was seen on the left wall. The lights came on one by one, and the walls on both sides of the room were all filled with these large iron cans.
Each can had a three-digit number, and below the number, the three letters H.C.P were engraved.
"Foundation... Is this a facility of the Foundation?" Chen Ke said in surprise.
And what surprised him even more was yet to come.
In the innermost part of this huge space, there was also a restraint frame, on which hung a huge object.
The light source kept on lighting up, and Chen Ke saw clearly what was hanging on the restraint frame. It was a huge shrunken internal organ, the upper part was a heart-pounding blood red, and the lower part was already black. A thick meat vine stretched out from the organ and connected to the navel of a huge humanoid object lying on the ground below.
Chen Ke trembled all over. He didn't know what was lying in front of him. The thing occupied a large area. If it stood up, it would probably be one-third of the height of the restraint frame. However, it couldn't stand up because it only had the upper body.
"What is this...?" Chen Ke carefully observed the giant creature lying on the ground. It had its face sideways, one arm stretched forward, and seven closed eyes on its face, three on the right cheek and four on the left cheek.
On the floor in front of the giant creature, there was a pool of dried purple blood. On the nearest iron can, the number was 999.
"You are finally here." The electronic synthesized voice said.
"You... are this?" Chen Ke pointed at the lying giant creature and looked into the darkness around him and asked.
"No, I am just an ordinary human like you." The electronic synthesized voice said.
"Then why don't you come out and talk to me face to face? Do you have water and food?" Chen Ke asked again.
"You must have suffered a lot to get here." The electronic synthesized voice said.
"Don't say something I don't understand. Who are you?" Chen Ke asked.
"I am Lin Yan, a member of the Almighty Council of the Cradle of Humankind Project." Lin Yan said.
"Foundation... did you ask Xu Jing to send me here?" Chen Ke asked.
"No, I don't know Xu Jing." Lin Yan said frankly.
"Then..." Chen Ke was confused.
"I know you have a lot of questions, but I also know you are unlikely to know how to ask them. I don't have much time. Next, I will tell you three things. Whether you accept it or not, believe it or not, this is an established reality." Lin Yan said.
"I...listen." Chen Ke didn't know where to look, so he could only stare at the huge object in front of him.
"First thing, humans are extinct, and you are the only human here." Lin Yan said lightly.
"Fuck...you...? Shit. Wait a minute..." Chen Ke felt that his worldview was shocked.
"Second thing, you don't really exist here, but exist in the form of a quantum superposition state. From a scientific point of view, you are just a kind of melody, a visual signal of a specific frequency band."
"I...I just..." Chen Ke pinched his body and didn't feel that he was unreal.
"Third thing, the human world has been restarted 999 times, all for the purpose of giving humans another chance to develop a more advanced civilization beyond our current level and win the war with the gods. The world you are in is the world after the 999th restart." Lin Yan ignored Chen Ke's surprise and said the third thing immediately.
"Are you kidding me?" Chen Ke quickly recalled the three things Lin Yan said, and couldn't believe it at all.
"This is true. The world you are in now is the base reality, the true appearance of the world. And the place you were in before, no matter what you experienced, is the subjective reality, which is the timeline we created by interfering with time using the ability of the descendants of gods." Lin Yan said.
"I have heard different versions of this statement, and what you three said is completely different. Who should I believe?" Chen Ke asked.
