Warhammer: My Mother Sanguinius

Chapter 31 Angel and Emperor, Father and Daughter (Please Read On)

Angels flap their wings.

In more than two years, I have become quite proficient in mastering flying skills.

By vibrating her wings gently, she can control the strong wind in the most energy-saving way and sweep forward a long distance.

Rising mountains, broken cities, and endless deserts.

passed through her eyes.

She chased the fading light of the star and headed west.

Her state of mind as a warrior and leader could no longer remain calm, causing ripples, which then expanded into waves that could not be concealed.

The closer you get to that place.

The endless thoughts in her heart were tumbling more and more fiercely.

Even.

Many questions that I had never thought about also popped into my mind one by one.

Make her hesitate and feel uneasy.

What kind of posture should she use to meet her father?

Warrior, angel, leader——

Or even a daughter?

Can what she did on Baobao satisfy her father?

After all, when the Emperor of Mankind came to this land.

Mutants have still not been completely eradicated.

There are also her wings, her gender, and the many things that make her and her brothers unique.

Are these places intentionally designed or are they accidental?

Endless thoughts fill my heart.

When she broke away from these thoughts, the figure of the human emperor had already appeared in her eyes.

He did not lead his own vast fleet.

Not even leading the Custodes.

Alone.

Like a lonely traveler, standing on the cliff extending outward from the Anochian Mountains.

The convoy was stationed here during its journey in search of an oasis.

Looking down.

It is the ruins of an industrial city.

The smell of sewage and rusted metal still filled the air.

The dusty traveler heard the flapping of wings, turned his head, raised his hand and said hello.

The roiling emotions inside the angel calmed down.

She took a deep breath.

He closed his wings, glided and landed lightly on the soft sand dunes, leaving a series of scratches.

She was wearing ceremonial armor and had a long sword in its scabbard.

She walked quickly.

Almost at a trot, he came to the side of the Lord of Humanity.

Over the past two years or so, Sanguinius had thought about many scenes of their meeting, of huge battleships descending from the sky and covering the sky. Groups of Imperial Guards lined up and walked out of the lander like gods, and tens of thousands of humans knelt on the ground weeping for the arrival of the Lord of Humanity.

Then she would kneel down.

Pledge allegiance.

This is a matter of course.

But the reality was different from every scenario Sanguinius had ever imagined.

+This is an informal meeting, my daughter+

The human emperor turned sideways and looked at his only daughter, his eyes lingering on the wings behind the angel for a moment.

His warm spiritual energy continues to echo in my heart: + Only you and me will know about this meeting+

"Father-"

Sanguinius spoke in Anokian.

She wasn't sure whether her father could understand the meaning, and then made a gesture with her long fingers.

The Lord of Man's psychic energy is filled with emotion.

She can feel love, trust, caution, anticipation... these emotions that cannot be accurately described in words are included.

There is no threat.

This gradually relaxed Sanguinius' tense mood.

Although Sanguinius herself was very tall, the Emperor of Mankind towered over her by a full head and a half.

This made the angel look a little small in front of her father.

She looked up.

He looked at his father with searching eyes.

She saw it.

In his father's eyes, he saw many souls.

A boy holding his father's skull decorated with shells; a dying old man, hidden under his robe, wiggling his chapped lips; a knight in his prime, with a laurel wreath tied up his long black hair; a savage, The strong warlord laughed wildly, his grinning teeth soaked with blood.

at last--

It's a corpse.

A corpse imprisoned on a golden throne, twisted and roaring with inhuman torture and pain.

Huge sadness poured out of my heart like a black tide.

Tears flowed down my cheeks.

Then she felt a warm touch, and a rough hand wiped away the tears.

And then.

One by one, those illusions were shattered and disappeared from the angel's eyes.

Only the last tangible figure remains.

a man.

The waist is rickets and the skin is dark.

His temples are gray, his forehead is deeply wrinkled, and his eyes are filled with fatigue that cannot be concealed.

He smelled of metal and sweat, which reminded Angel of workers, farmers, and laborers.

The first person to enter space was a farmer's son.

Over tens of thousands of years, everything that humans have ever had was shaped by this group of people.

"Are you going to die?"

She grabbed her father's hand, her voice trembling like never before.

"It's not important"

"What matters," said the Emperor, "is whether the destiny of mankind can be sustained."

A strong hot wind blew and carried fine gravel, and the angel instinctively raised his wings to block it.

She saw her father looking thoughtfully at the wings behind him. When he tried to reach out and touch them, the angel instinctively opened its wings to the side.

He began to walk around Sanguinius.

A rough big hand stretched out and gently touched the angel's wings from top to bottom.

When the Emperor walked into the blind spot of his vision, the angel's body trembled nervously.

"Am I a mutant?" Sanguinius looked into his father's eyes.

There was a desperate determination in his eyes.

"You are my daughter"

The Emperor slowly removed his hand from the wings: "This is also a perfect creation."

He did not answer directly, nor did he choose to deny it - Sanguinius' heart was filled with two completely opposite emotions.

The joy of being affirmed and the sadness of falling into self-doubt.

"I have seen many things," said Sanguinius. "You are the death of faith. Many worlds have been burned and idols have been destroyed. But the pure-blooded people on Baal-Sergei II believe in me as a true angel."

"Faith is only a tool."

The Emperor said, "I will not interfere with your people if you deem it necessary."

"I have one last question." The angel looked into the Emperor's eyes, expecting a concrete answer from the Lord of Mankind.

But she was disappointed again.

"Why am I different?"

"Each of you is different, and you are all part of my great vision." The Emperor said.

"No."

Sanguinius shook his head. "You know, this is not the answer I want."

This is the only thing she wants to hear a definite answer.

"How can I meet your expectations?" Sanguinius changed his way and asked again, his tone was loud and relentless.

"When I sit on the throne, you will understand."

The father stroked his daughter's long golden hair.

He disappeared.

Under the red light of the setting sun, only an angel stood on the vast and desolate cliff.
